B&B: Veteran Actor returns
I also wonder if Thudley will force Nick & Brooke’s song down our throats again…you know the one!! @YRfan23 @Soapsuds @Maxim @sheilaforever I tried to find a clip of the song from 2022 but no luck lol.

B&B: Veteran Actor returns
Wow this was the last thing I was expecting, I was actually shocked when he came back for the show’s 35th with Brooke’s fantasy. It’s funny because Nick was basically written out as he fell out of favor for $Bill. Yes I wonder if we will see Jack. I wonder if we will see more of Bridget again. I wouldn’t mind it if Thorne had returned instead but at least this should be an interesting change.

B&B renewed for three more seasons through 2028
LOL I think I remember that after I joked that Kelly Monaco was going to replace Budig LOL. That said maybe by 2027-28 I am going to guess that a SOARSed Kelly and Beth will be fighting over Clarke Garrison III because Thudley will randomly bring back Clarke & CJ for the show’s 40th anniversary and because Half sisters Kelly & Beth need someone to fight over that they’re not related to…unless we have to meet Charlie’s grandson 🤣

B&B renewed for three more seasons through 2028
You know what, Hartley would probably be the best Taylor ever. Hence why such a short stint! 🤣

B&B renewed for three more seasons through 2028
They also rejected my proposal to have B&B air in the coveted timeslot currently held by the in the soon to be vacated After Midnight show 🙈🙈

B&B renewed for three more seasons through 2028
By 2028 I fully expect Thudley to hire Amanda Setton as either Taylor #5 or #6 @Taoboi @Maxim @YRfan23 🤣 Same here. The show had its chance to revisit the Spectra’s years ago but of course they blew it epically…and for the last 5 years our Sally Spectra II has been on Y&R. Go figure. Some of the recent stories tells me what a lack of imagination Thudley has for the show. Instead of bringing on an already established presence like a Diana Carter or something we got some convoluted twist that Luna is Finn’s daughter and thus Sheila’s granddaughter and that’s why she is psycho…or some nonsense. I stopped watching the show. @kalbir I guess the CBS executives didn’t see my proposal for the show to be moved to 3:30/2:30 either 🤣🤣🤣

Looking back...Primetime Ratings from the 80's
LOL! CBS was actually the last network to keep doing a Sunday night movie (before Covid at least) until the mid-00’s or so, although by the later years it was usually fuzzy generic Hallmark Hall of Fame movies before the Hallmark Channel came into existence. I miss the days of when the Big 3 and later for a few years there Fox had those movie nights. Prior to being bought by Disney, ABC’s Sunday Night Movie generally consisted of actual big screen motion pictures. CBS Sundays and I think what Tuesdays was mostly made for TV movies with a wide variety of sorts which at least made it interesting. NBC’s Sunday and Monday night movies were a mix of the two although by the 90’s that’s how NBC kept the miniseries tradition alive with a number of “Part 1 Sun night, Part 2 Monday night” movies occurring.

Ratings from the 1990s
Only for the curious….New York News @DRW50 @kalbir @Paul Raven @Khan Poor Melina, at least she did have Providence, a show I adored just a few years ahead of her. Vox has this 2017 article here…while interested that MTM played against type, the writer didn’t really care for the show itself. https://www.vox.com/culture/2017/1/25/14389972/mary-tyler-moore-new-york-news-madeline-kahn-fabio-1995-cbs The show was scheduled Thursday nights at 9PM/8PM, which was just asking for certain annihilation at the time, also against the similarly doomed The Monroe’s on ABC. Combine this with mixed to bad reviews (the Variety one I perused was just “meh” about it) and CBS’ Fall 1995 schedule being a clusterf*ck the show obviously failed and ended up tied at 113th out of 160 shows for the 95-96 TV season.

Looking back...Primetime Ratings from the 80's
Oh yes I mean I remember CBS tried to hype the show up and I thought it would be good with MTM, Madeline Kahn, and plus Melina Kanakaredes was fresh off GL ready to a make a primetime splash…or not. The show had potential, but the execution was terrible. I gave up after a couple of eps and of course the show ended up being obliterated by Seinfeld as the season progressed.

BTG: April 2025 Discussion Thread
Yeah same I was at least hoping he’d invite her to this dinner with Derek & Ashley, that would’ve been gold.

Y&R: April 2025 Discussion Thread
Don’t worry the other half is Damian, Nate, and Amy which makes the episode halfway worthwhile. But yeah compared to today’s BTG episode like kalbir was saying Griffith & Co should be ashamed. I don’t blame any of the actors at all, just the extremely mundane washed up writing that for some reason just has a depressing melancholic feeling with it too.

Ugh tuned in and of course the month’s first episode starts off with the Quad from Hell.

Looking back...Primetime Ratings from the 80's
Wow, thanks for sharing as I only remember reading about this show years back and had never seen any clips or anything where as I’ve seen Mary, the mediocre ‘85 show surface and I remember being the only possibly being the only person in the country to watch a couple New York News episodes in ‘95 lol I agree with @Khan’s sentiments. I know Moore’s career tanked after doing that lousy Six Weeks movie after her Ordinary People success. Seems to me although the MTM dramas were running on all cylinders in the 80’s the sitcoms were often subpar, and MTM as whole started producing flop after flop by the time the end of the 80’s/beginning of the 90’s

DAYS: Janet Spellman-Drucker Retiring | Noel Maxam New Co-EP
I really wish Maxam was coming home to Y&R to replace our current EP (along with a decent HW!)

B&B: Will we see another head-writer of the show in our lifetime?
The old joke was the reason MAB supposedly killed off Brad and Colleen was because the in-laws couldn’t stand each other. But now to realize that one of the first new characters MAB introduced was Sabrina, things that make you hmmmm……

B&B: Will we see another head-writer of the show in our lifetime?
Have any of them gotten into the business though? Doesn’t seem like it. I would’ve thought Thudley & Colleen would’ve encouraged at least one of them too, but I don’t know their exact ages. I know Lauralee’s kids are in their early 20’s by now. Don’t know if Bill Jr & MAB have any kids.

B&B: March 2025 Discussion Thread
One of the worst and weirdest things Thudley ever was back in 2018 was having Brooke encourage/force Hope to go after a very married Liam despite his own marital issues saying “It’s okay to go after a married man don’t feel any shame” blah blah blah. Feels so hysterical and hypocritical now 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

BTG: March 2025 Discussion Thread
I will say I definitely wasn’t expecting to Silk Press Sheila and Eva to become the breakout stars of the show for me or become Team Eva. My top 5 characters for myself so far are definitely Nicole, Anita, Eva, Vernon, and well a good 3 way tie for Chelsea, Jacob, and Naomi at 5th for right now. I’d throw Ted in too but I also want to see how the recast is as well. I will say the most disappointing thing for myself is my overall lack of interest for Martin & Smitty, mainly because I don’t see the chemistry. I don’t know, Martin sounds fine on paper but it’s becoming poorly executed on screen IMO. (I would have prefer it if Martin was shown at a busy congressional office too busy for his family, or perhaps have a minor issue that Martin missed a key House vote thanks to family drama etc.) I think the best thing is in the past month BTG has shown us that yes, we in 2025 can still have an engaging/engrossing, entertaining, and vibrant soap. Not to mention that yes even despite side eying a few names in the credits lol some of these long time soap writers can still produce fresh updated material while using familiar soap tropes. Best of all feeling I get and I don’t even know why though is despite only being on for a month I feel like I’ve been watching this show for years now. The show’s has done a great job of explaining how these characters developed and moving the plot forward.

ARTICLE: ‘Days of our Lives’ Co-Executive Producer Janet Drucker Announces Retirement, Noel Maxam Named Successor
For years I’ve always wanted Maxam to return to Y&R as EP; instead we got the likes of Pratt, Mal Young, and now Griffith running the show.

Your daily (or nightly) thought
Just my hunch, nothing about either of them strike me as tops 🤣🤣 Noah was a rising talent at one time until he gave an outrageously pretentious and very trashy interview with Vulture that basically had it stalled out. But you’re right, they do look like brothers, both have less than pleasant personalities, and I’ve lost interest in either of them for years now.

Y&R: March 2025 Discussion Thread
LOL thanks, haha didn’t mean to come off that strong 😅 But I do definitely want to go back to watch some of the fallout as well as the Traci scenes and anything Damian related too. Also disappointed in the lack of starting something towards a Shick reunion, like what gives?? And yes lol, Quad from Hell. I know I’ve called at least 2-3 Y&R quads that before as well lol but currently that title goes to Adam/Chelsea/Billy/Sally. Ugh. Billy is a black hole unless Sally can keep him on a chain like Lily did. And the only time I’ve ever found Adam & Chelsea engaging, entertaining etc. was when Hartley was in the role of Adam. I like Grossman & MCE separately but they never had chemistry together especially after all that excruciating crap JG wrote for them back in 2020-21. And Chelsea has been irrelevant for years now. I’m still sure it will only be a matter of time before this Quad swaps partners in bed again, with Billy left screaming at midnight in Chancellor Park once more. 😵💫
