  1. I agree. SuBe represented everything I hated about “California soaps.” Even actors like Sam Behrens, who were somewhat accomplished, seemed mediocre on the show. The only ones who somewhat transcended the show were Sarah Buxton and Dominique Jennings. However, I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy Sherri Saum and a few other actors in different roles later on.
  2. So many temps on GH over the past few years. The last temp I can remember on Y&R was Karla Mosley stepping in for Mishael Morgan as Amanda, and that was a very rare occurrence.
  3. Bleh at Andy and his little wink. Withholding judgment on the ladies until we get actual footage.
  4. I feel like they definitely needed one more person. Like maybe even saving Alex for this group instead of the sh!tshow with Brandi and Caroline Manzo.
  5. Or, in the opposite extreme, some characters may grieve for a prolonged period of time, as Carly did for Sonny on GH. She went around for months breaking dishes and shrieking before the odd reunion with Jason that I didn’t buy. When the person returns from the dead, things can feel rather mundane. In Sonny's case, it almost felt like he had returned from a long business trip instead of being dead for months and of course we spoke ad nauseum about the anticlimax of Sonny walking in on Carly/Jason BEFORE they had sex.

  8. At the risk of sounding like the proverbial “Terrible food… and such small portions!” type, this is waaaaay too soon to drop “said” bomb.
  9. That return was iconic. Did the audience know she’d survived the plunge or was it revealed later?
  10. I was thinking about Phyllis faking her death on Y&R and how bad the story had turned out. What are some good (and bad) examples of stories in which a character is believed to be dead by the other characters (or at least most of them), but the audience immediately knows that the character is still alive and living a different life elsewhere? This could be due to the character faking their death, being kidnapped, or suffering from amnesia. I'm looking for a different type of story than the ones where an actor leaves the show and the character is presumed dead but later revealed to be alive, like Reva's story on GL or Phillip’s and Adam’s returns on Y&R. In the type of story I'm interested in, the character doesn't actually leave the show and is featured continuously. I’m thinking of Victor and his summer with Hope on Y&R, Katharine being presumed dead when Marge was killed on Y&R, or Sonny on GH having amnesia and living a life as bartender Mike, discovered by Nina. Which ones had the best or worst reveals? (Sonny being alive on GH was so meh, but Victor’s return after his time in Kansas was so great, especially Jack’s reaction.)
  11. Alon from Israel 🇮🇱
  12. Looks good. So smart to use Tennant/Tate as a bridge to the new era for the 60th.
  13. The Slovenia guys are adorable. 🥰 The singers from Cyprus, Greece, and Italy are also hotties. What is it about those Mediterranean/Adriatic/Aegean dudes?

  16. Exactly. The story made absolutely no sense (wouldn’t be the first implausible soap plot). But Y&R had been so bereft of action that I was thankful that, at least, Josh was finally taking some risks and going for a big story that could conceivably have big drama. The actors certainly felt alive and engaged for once. But he has completely undermined the barest bit of dramatic momentum or impact this story had. Why bother? They are getting zero return on investment for the setup at the 50th anniversary, unless there’s a major plot twist coming. JG sucks at plot twists, though. There’s a thorough lack of commitment to telling stories. Even Brad Bell or Ron C. would have handled this in a far more entertaining way. And, yes, Elena should absolutely go to the dark side. If she’s still a squishy crybaby after all of this, what a waste.
  17. And doing them no favors.
  18. This Phyllis story has been so botched.
  19. On brand. In all seriousness, I wish they’d cast a wider net with the writers they spoke with, but maybe quite a few of them declined. Who knows?
  20. Just like Jerry ver Dorn, Kristoff St. John, and Sonya Eddy, it seems. A feeling of warmth that goes well beyond respect and into the hearts of these very special people. You can feel that love in these posts for Jackie.
  21. Impressive back muscles:
  22. Rolling Stone has done an exposé, with staffers calling the show a “toxic work environment,” in spite of Kelly, who is praised as “fantastic”:
