  1. Hopefully with two of the three actors recast, the dynamic will be somewhat fresh. B&B has all the subtlety of a stomping Stegosaurus.
  2. They mention that a few times in the Daily Beast piece. She’s gotten away with a lot.
  3. GU was fine, but there’s a fresh-faced innocence and sense of irony that Kim Fields had, and I didn’t think Gabrielle’s more knowing, sardonic take made much of an impression, especially when you had someone like Kathryn Hahn in the cast. I was worried for John Lithgow’s back with all that lifting of Kevin Hart. Dude is 76 years old.
  4. Oh no. Why would they do that to a beautiful woman?
  5. Which is crazy because they clearly consider her a strong lead, and she clearly has a fanbase, yet you’re right in many ways. Sometimes Y&R feels like an unfunny, early ‘90s workplace sitcom set at the Grand Phoenix with Phyllis as the acid-tongued proprietor. They are just leaning on Stafford’s Phyllis-ness, thinking that’s all people want, without giving her much substance. The problem is that she’s the only story right for Jack, who’s been to relegated to his niece’s ridiculous story. The Abbotts have been pretty much gutted. Traci and Ashley only pop in from time to time. Just drives home how stagnant the show is. Beyond JG, they’ve made a lot of bad writing/casting/production decisions over the years, and the chickens have come home to roost.
  6. Not a terrible voice.
  7. Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings will host Jeopardy! through the end of the season. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/jeopardy-mayim-bialik-ken-jennings-to-host-through-remainder-of-season-38-1235059265/
  8. It seems like they splurged some for the Victoria/Ashland wedding, which was decent by modern Y&R standards. And they had a lot of actors in one place.
  9. I’m very curious about the BTS. I miss the days when we had good gossip. GH feels like the only leaky set these days.
  10. Of course you were haha. Thiem’s your boy.
  11. As Keke Palmer says in the Old Navy commercial, “It’s the naughty ones who make history.”
  12. They must not feel her wild sex hair represents Empress Carly, but I agree.
  13. A German friend highlighted the subtle difference to me today, so I can see how certain American ears (like mine) might not immediately hear it, especially with EB’s garbled speaking:
  14. The only one of the four FOL girls who was decent at all in the live show was Kathryn Hahn as Jo. Jon Stewart, Will Arnett, and Jason Bateman showed up as love interests, but it felt a bit mechanical. It was sad to see Todd Bridges there as the last DS cast member standing.
  15. I watched some of it. Pretty boring, but neither Facts of Life or Diff’rent Strokes were great shows to begin with, aside from a few charismatic actors IMO. They also chose weak episodes to adapt. Still, John Lithgow cradling and carrying Kevin Hart was a pretty funny sight gag.
