  1. $80B to gun down innocent men, women and children? Mama was right: you DO learn something new everyday!
  2. On second thought, maybe pairing Tracy with Cody isn't such a bad idea after all?
  3. Didn't Scotty have a long-lost son (or did I imagine that, lol)? It's a shame they killed him off later on, because he would've been PERFECT in that role.
  4. I could see that. They don't want to be labelled a soap opera, so they downplay or eliminate a lot of the whimsiness that characterized the first three seasons; and instead, they up the grit and the gloom and down with stories about acquaintance rape, troubled teens, assisted suicide, false memory syndrome, etc. "You see, folks? Not a soap!" Except, those are the kinds of stories that soaps thrive on, Mr. Cowen and Mr. Lipman, lol!
  5. I'm always amazed at how they're able to fill enough airtime every episode despite having so many inert characters and storylines. It must be like pulling hair, teeth and everything else just to come up even with one scene for La Femme Josskita that's semi-interesting.
  6. If you have a character marrying her sister's ex-husband, guess what? You're a soap opera, lol! But seriously. Ron Cowen and Daniel Lipman never want you to classify "Sisters" the same way you'd classify, say, KL. To them, it's on the same level as "Family" and "thirtysomething," except...it really isn't, lol. Don't get me wrong, I love the show - well, half of it, I could do without S's 4 through 6 - but it's nowhere near as deep as anything that Edward Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz have produced. Those two would never do a storyline where someone runs a sting operation on the man responsible for their husband's death, or have one sister try and prove the other sister's ex-therapist guilty of medical malpractice.
  7. "Eyes on ICE" sounds like the coolest Duran Duran album ever.
  8. Indeed! (Of course, seeing Melody Thomas Scott sex it up with one of fine, young Black men on this show would be even better, lol).
  9. James Patrick Stuart reminded me of a younger James Mitchell, which was appropriate, given their characters' connection. Make no mistake, though: AMC never had his Will playing Billy Joel tunes on the piano at The Chateau while still insisting he was a villain, lol.
  10. I don't blame her. No one ever got mixed up with Sonny/Jason/Carly and then lived to tell the tale.
  11. Well, that's one way to end a feud, lol.
  12. OMG, has it been 23 years since JKL debuted? I still remember the very first episode. I was living in L.A. at the time and wishing I had attended the taping rather than watching it from my apartment. (Of course, that was before I had heard the stories about audience members being served alcohol and basically throwing up all over the place, lol).
  13. "You were right, Abby. The first Mrs. Ewing never goes away." It just amazes me how much Donna Mills still looks like herself, especially in comparison to JVA and Michele Lee. Whoever her plastic surgeon is, they are a genius and they deserve every penny they've earned and then some. I know they weren't on KL, but I hope Ana-Alicia and Susan Sullivan will appear on this someday. They (and, of course, Jane Wyman) were the only reasons I even bothered with FC, lol.
  14. Well, I'm glad to see one church official take a stand here. I get frustrated whenever I see church authorities refuse to speak on this crisis for fear of becoming "too political" and potentially turning away their most conservative followers. They don't realize that Jesus himself was a political figure as well as a religious one; and if He were here today, He would be out there in the streets of MN, standing between the agents and the immigrants, and advising them that this is not at all what the Father wants.
  15. You ain't kiddin'! Between all the talk about Douglas Marland vs. the Dobsons and all the re-watches of episodes from the Rauch/Esensten & Brown era, you'd think GL was still on the air, lol!
  16. I always wanted Lucy paired with someone you'd never expect her to be paired with: someone who was nerdy-looking, for lack of a better word. That's why, when we were talking about what to do for CT/Lucy if she had joined KL full-time, I suggested her going to work at the Sumner Group as Paige's new assistant (as a favor to Gary and Val) and being the object of both Mort and Bob's affections, with Zane Lasky's schlubby Bob winning out in the end.
  17. Mark Pinter had no chemistry with anyone on any show I've seen him in, and that includes his guest shot on "Charlie's Angels."
  18. I wonder if this was during the period when GH was still being taped at Sunset Gower Studios, rather than at the Prospect Studios. IIRC, both DAYS and GH were taped at Sunset Gower at one point, although I'm not entirely sure why the latter show relocated there.
  19. There's only been TWO new posts in this thread since @BoldRestless 's post yesterday!?
  20. IA. I also agree with @DRW50 that DALLAS and DYNASTY weren't similar. I'm lukewarm on both shows - I prefer KL over the other three - but if I had to choose, I'd have to say DALLAS came closer to the kind of show I'd watch.
  21. As awful as social media has become, it's also been the galvanizing force in MN and other places, as witnesses (not protestors, but witnesses) have been recording these assaults perpetrated by ICE and uploading them all over the Internet. "The whole world is watching," indeed.
  22. Not that he would've wanted to work even on the most popular TV series on the globe, but...Tom Cruise.
