Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I feel like at this point, the "core" of Atlanta is Kandi, Cynthia, Porsha, and Kenya. Yes, even Kenya. Others around them, including Nene, can come or go as long as these core four remain on the show, and RHOA will continue to coast along just fine. Re: OC, so apparently the rumor is that Tamra, Shannon, Kelly, Braunwyn, and Emily have gotten invited back. Vicki is being invited back as a Friend Of with a salary that's further reduced from last season. They're on the fence with Gina and it could go either way. However, Messy Boots Andy says it's just a rumor and that no contracts have been sent out yet. Furthermore, apparently for whatever reason Tamra was thisclose to getting the boot, but will be welcomed back. Hmm... Re: NJ. Even though it feels a tad forced for the cameras, I appreciate Jennifer bringing her family issue to light about her mother's hesitance to acknowledge her son as gay. It's an important topic to address; old-school people struggling with their longstanding beliefs versus the reality of life. However, it looks like Jennifer is back to being outlandish next week. Side note: Something about Dolores sometimes resembles Senator Kamala Harris to me (P.S. If Joe Biden gets the presidential nomination, I hope she's his VP. But that's for the Politics thread)

Where is everyone? LOL Apparently there's some casting news for next season's OC.... a certain OG will not be happy, especially with a further reduced salary. Methinks Bravo is coaxing her to quit without officially doing the dirty work of letting her go.

Re: GMA3... I've watched that painful dreck only a couple times and the only thing worth watching is Keke Palmer. They could ditch Strahan and Sara and just kick it with Keke (which would likely be their newly revamped title!)

Film Awards Thread
Okay, call me a stodgy old man for always being a champion of network television or basic cable, but I'm finally getting into content that's streamed exclusively, and yeah, this whole new era of Netflix films vs. standard theatrical releases is getting so murky with what constitutes what. When hubby and I watched A Marriage Story (super low budget, by the way, minus whatever salaries the actors likely received), I'm like, "I've never heard of this. Was it in theaters?" Turns out, it was released for less than a month in November to a very small, select group of theaters, raking in a whopping $160,000; not that it mattered to them, because it was basically an exclusive streaming deal. So weird how this works now. P.S. Laura Dern did basically nothing in the film (certainly nothing note-worthy; the role was pretty stagnant, requiring next to no range or depth at all), yet won Supporting Actress at the Globes. Dumb. Stepping off my soapbox. (P.S. I love Fleabag and Olivia Colman)

I will say though, and I've always thought this, that the "Mattessa" fans online (two T's, not one, and yes they would correct you!) were vocal, rabid, and ridiculous. Nothing was good enough for them; nothing satisfied them. "Why are they making love on a couch? Why can't they have a bedroom?" From the big stuff (the late-in-life miracle baby junk) to the little stuff, they were always in a huff. But yes, the constant insults Beth was giving about Vanessa's age was tacky and reeked of a behind the scenes grudge (Rauch towards Maeve Kinkead).

Guiding Light Discussion Thread
I *so* wish she had popped up on another soap long-term, and not just as some mayor with a hardon for Bo Buchanan. Not sure which soap I'd wish her on nowadays. For aesthetic purposes, I'd say Y&R. For selfish reasons, I'd say DAYS, but it'd be such a letdown watching her scheme and manipulate in the Blue Room or Park Bench. Sigh...

"The Conners" Discussion Thread
I'm with Sara Gilbert that Andy shouldn't be ruled out entirely. That's incredibly generous for writers to pick 'n choose which aspects of the original show was part of Roseanne's "dreams/writings." Jackie being pregnant was one of the biggest highlights of Season 6. I did hate, though, how starting Season 7 and beyond, Jackie became a total oafish Barney Fife cartoon. I still wish when they rebooted the series, they would've reverted Jackie back to normal. Well, Laurie Metcalf was preggars in real life. When it was revealed Jackie was pregnant, Laurie was already showing! I think it worked for Jackie's character but it was pointless for Dan & Roseanne to have a later-in-life child. Especially considering she was pregnant for nearly 14 months!

LOL! Great minds... Agreed 100% I think my opinion of Porsha finally changed at the S10 reunion when she was clever and funny. Loved her side comments, especially towards Sheree... "You in the hot seat now, bitch. Enjoy it! Enjoy your moment..." LOL I'm always laughing at her comments nowadays. Like I said before, it's the natural on the fly comments that are way funnier than rehearsed pre-planned talking head stuff. That's how Nene *used* to be. Now it's just over-the-top cross-eyed drag queen faces.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Nene's entrance into the group was so flat, she might as well have been Yovanna or Shemari or whomever was the one-and-done from last season. I don't know if I could hang off that building like they did. I'd certainly not be as bold as Kandi and Kenya. I'd be extremely terrified. I might just sit it out. I finally figured out who Tanya reminds me of! Patti Simcox from Grease! 😄

All 3 were guilty. Kelly was the one doing most of the side digs and under the breath comments in the first part. All in all, Vicki truly dug her own grave. If Bravo wanted to keep it under wraps for the sake of keeping viewers on her side, they never would've aired her outbursts before and after she came on stage. They didn't have to show it, but she gave them the ammo to shoot herself. I'll be surprised if the same 7 (Vicki included) all return next season. As others predict, we may see an overhaul a la NYC from S4 to S5.

ATL: I love me some Anne of Green Gables too lol. My bucket list includes going to Prince Edward Island and doing the Anne tour. I'll have to drag my husband along, cuz he has no interest in "some little white girl teaching in a one room school" lol I feel the exact same way about my love for Porsha. When did she become my favorite? I disliked her for so long, first with Kordell and then her dumb THOT-like ways and teaming up with Phaedra... but when she got pregnant and became more humbled, she did a complete 180 for me. Nowadays, I find myself chuckling the most at her comments. She says a lot of funny remarks on the fly (versus pre-thought jokes in talking heads) that kind of reminds me how I *used* to love Nene in ATL's first 3 seasons... Even though Marlo will never hold a peach, it's pretty ironic how she has contributed more to this season than Nene (or Eva). Tanya is like that super hyper wannabe in highschool that's trying to hang with the cool crowd. She can be a little annoying to me, but overall harmless. Plus, she does infuse positive vibes into the group which is a good thing. Yovanna. Thirsty ho indeed. It's like why is she even there? She's friends with Nene who's been a no-show til the end of the episode. Some of these "friends of" are lucky to get a free ride (literally) to another country for a vacation, with nary one remark to contribute to the show. New Jersey: Danielle blaming Margaret for her failed marriage to Marty is the equivalent to Shannon blaming Vicki for her weight gain. #Bye #IsByeAThreat? By the way, last night's eppy reminded me of how paranoid and delusional Danielle can get with her castmates. It was a total Season 2 flashback for me. She is really fixated on Margaret. Margaret talks about Danielle, yes, but she's got other stuff to occupy herself with as well. And Danielle constantly goes back to bashing Margaret on how she got together with her current husband by cheating on her previous husband. If Margaret, Hubby No. 1, and Hubby No. 2 are over it, so should Danielle. She's a one trick pony with her insults.

As I said before... Team Margaret all the way. You get up in my space and incite violence and are uncontrollably hotheaded, you need to cool down with the water I pour over your head.

That bitch came from the gut. LOL. Yeah that was messy of Kenya but loved Kandi calling her out right away. Porsha's and Kenya's.... I can't decide which man is worse. Ditch 'em both. Marc'ths lipsthpyineth theemsth a little thusthpect, too. Yep, it's no wonder Nene is acting out online. LVP left, Bethenny left, Vicki got demoted, and now you're barely shown and the show is doing just fine without you. Better save up those coins...

Equating Vanderpump's takedown to Kelly Dudd? That was a funny reunion. It was toxic and ugly, but it was also funny. I may not be super fans of any of them individually, but I'd sooner choose Tres Amigas over Kelly and her low-rent gaggle of newbies.

Come to think of it, I’m surprised they already filmed the finale. I guess I’m used to ATL filming endlessly even when half the season has already aired.

I'm going to give Porsha the benefit of the doubt and believe she's trying to make this work, as misguided as her efforts may be, because she desperately wants a family unit for PJ. She seems completely repulsed by Dennis otherwise.
