Melrose Place
I don't think Grant has a problem anymore. He was open about it in their 2012 interview that at the time he had a chip on his shoulder, but looking back he didn't realize how good they had it. They all said as much, I recall Daphne Zuniga pointing out how television has changed so much and they originally would be shooting on location outside the apartment complex and there'd be no paparazzi, no nothing.

Melrose Place
Aw, can't wait to watch. Meanwhile, I wonder whatever happened to Thomas Calabro? He was a regular in the 2.0 failed "reboot," yet by 2012 didn't even join in on the Entertainment Weekly cover shoot.

Hell, upgrade Dale to a housewife! What's the tea on NYC's cast trip? Where they going?

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
LOL I just googled to confirm too. I thought it was Woman In Power

Agreed. If Eileen Davidson can juggle going back 'n forth to Y&R and DAYS (two hourlong soaps) at the same time as RHOBH, lil ol' half-hour B&B isn't too much a commitment.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I thought it was hinted earlier to be Denise Richards? Irish Ridge is keeping her busy over at B&B.

Kelly has been hitting below the belt since day one.... "No wonder her daughter won't talk to her." re: Tamra. Or just by calling whomever (I can't remember who) a C-U-Next-Tuesday at the dinner table. She's an erratic, sloppy, unintelligent mess. And you know she's gonna fight hard to keep this Bravo job in case her latest rich conquest kicks her to the curb before they say "I Do."

Yup. 1000% agree. Housewives has a knack for picking psychotic Kellys.

Agreed. I did not think Jennifer would grow on me, and there's still traits that are unlikable (no Housewife is perfect, not even my lovely tone-deaf Ramona), but she's entertaining now, and she's no longer a one-upper, thank God. Meanwhile, Jackie is miss Debbie Downer who just seems sour all the time. Did Dolores make it nice (to quote Dorinda) completely? No. But were her observations wrong? Nope. Jackie isn't gelling. I think Melissa feels compelled/producer-coaxed to be that one person that's nice to her to tie her into the group "organically." ATL: Speaking of producer-driven, Marlo's event looked like some last minute shindig that was thrown together to be filmed. Some random empty space, a bogus "valet," sad seating areas, and one wall of 7 ratty wigs. Thank you Kenya for coming in and making it interesting. LOL. Having Nene come in and have lunch with Kandi really accentuates the fact that Nene is such an outsider in this group, which is otherwise doing just fine and creating enough fun and drama without her big stank attitude. If Nene wants to start biting at the hand that feeds her (i.e. Andy Cohen), watch out, because this season is proving that Nene could be a thing of the past and still thrive. BTW: I'm glad some of you like Tanya, and like, okay, she's harmless. But she looks so THIRSTY. So eager and desperate. Yovanna is desperate, but messy and catty so it comes through stronger. But make no mistake, Tanya's itching to hold a peach too.

The Politics Thread
I'd say in the past 3 years, Dems have paid more attention to the courts and can see rights slowly slipping away or being in grave danger (Roe v. Wade; LGBTQ, etc.) . With that, I wouldn't mind an ad that subtly suggests RBG may not make it another 5 years, juxtaposed with beer-loving Brett Kavanaugh breaking down under interrogation while a level-headed Christine Blasey Ford speaks the truth (not her truth; the truth). Remind Dems what's at stake in all levels of government.

Exactly. And I *really* wish they'd do some ads focusing on how Trump is NOT a Christian. Go for those narrow-minded evangelicals with their heads in the sand. He's not a man of God. He doesn't worship any God other than money. He doesn't attend church. He's not a member of any congregation. He couldn't recite The Lords Prayer or John 3:16 if his life depended on it. Point this out and focus on all the unholy, sinful acts he and his family have committed. If there is a God or Heaven, Trump is on the side of the fallen angel down below.

Agreed. Taking the high road has gotten us nowhere, sorry Michelle Obama. Break it down to the simpletons of the heartland and beyond. He looks like a fool. We look like fools. The world is laughing at us. Hell, at this point, do ads telling us that he and Melania sleep in separate rooms and he was boinking a porn star while she was preggars. Go for the ugly stuff because he's an ugly man, inside and out.

The OC: What a [!@#$%^&*] storm this Key West trip is. I gotta say, other than Vicki's wipeout at the end requiring her usual medical attention, I'd rather hang with the tres amigas than the suckfest of Kelly/Braunwyn/Emily. Even Gina is more tolerable with the "old ladies." I *loved* Bravo's cheeky editing showcasing the old women whooping it up having fun while the younger women were tired, staying in their rooms looking pooped. Ugh at Kelly's continued outbursts and inability to control herself. Total gutter trash. It's no wonder she's good friends with Brandi. Side note: We were in Key West three years ago and went to that gay bar. LOL. It was such a fun hot mess, but the drag queens were pretty terrible. LOL. One of them shown last night on OC is one I saw in person. She resembles Drag Race's Thorgy Thor but ten times worse. But gosh it was fun. I hope to see more of Duval Street next week.

That's true. We certainly haven't seen the last of her, thankfully. @DramatistDreamer Yes. He's a turd too. And sadly, he's the only candidate I've seen commercials for.

I'm very disappointed in this news too. I was hoping for a miracle in Iowa but we can't even get that far... this stinks. Meanwhile, we still have turds like Tulsi sticking around.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
@NothinButAttitude Agreed on No Need 4 Nene. Granted, who knows what's going to happen down the line, but the Housewives and Friends of they had last night bring more than enough shade and reading for filth. This would've been the perfect opportunity to see ATL persevere without their usual anchor/safety net. Re: New Jersey. I was willing to give Jackie a chance, but she's such a Debbie Downer. In the words of Vile Kyle, she's looking for tits on an ant. Meanwhile, this is giving me all the feels for Dolores, who's finally out of the shadows of Soggy and is making a name for herself. I'm finally a big fan of hers. And yes, her son Frankie could make many panties out there quite moist Re: OC Sloppy Kelly continues to shovel out more slop and messy garbage. When you're rooting for Tamra to come out on top, you know you've got a problem.

:::shrug::: I liked it. I don't mind the continuing story aspect of it. Agree with @Vee about last week's Darlene/Jackie altercation. Powerful stuff. I think they wisely had Jackie say that Darlene can't take Roseanne's place as being the matriarch of the family. You just know that was inspired by the haters out there...

The Politics Thread
I know I'm going against "my own kind," but right now, setting up the Democratic candidate as an openly gay man equals an automatic 2nd term for Trump. The haters are too emboldened right now to even consider a queer president. Pass.

Ratings from the 80's
Yep! A lot of soaps were actually on an upswing in '93 and early '94 that got halted by OJ interruptions. Y&R had a few weeks in the 9's in early '94.
-
Ratings from the 80's
In general, it seems like a lull for soaps in '87 with the No. 1 shows (Y&R, GH) mostly staying in the 7's.

Ratings from the 80's
Summer of '87 and onward sure had some funky numbers and changes at the top rankings.

The Politics Thread
Agreed. Overall, Wednesday's debate was a big fail and we learned nothing new about the candidates; what their differences are; how their policies and "plans" differ from one another. We know Warren and Bernie's stance on healthcare, how about the other 8 candidates on stage be given 90 seconds each to explain their plans? There's no need to waste time asking what they'd do to Trump after he's out of office. We know they all despise him. I'm tired of these moderators/networks of trying to create buzzworthy moments and easy click-baiting headline makers, pitting candidates against one another for unnecessary reasons. "Donald Trump. Terrible for America. Great for CBS" --- Les Moonves.

Ugh, that is sad to hear. Monique has been one of my top favorites (alongside The Grande Dame) for the past couple seasons now. Great attitude, great life, fantastic hubby, children brought up right... the whole package. No wonder those broke heifers hate her. I hope she stays

I could see that, re: Jackie, Becky & Louise owning the Lunch Box. Hell, this would be the perfect time to bring back Martin Mull as Leon, one of the few important characters from the original that still hasn't been touched upon (other than Andy, lol, who's probably in the attic for all eternity alongside Jerry)
