Sheri gives a lot of info on how it came to be written that Luke raped Laura, and the influence of producer and network, and how the longterm process of writing it was done. Therapist brought in. A lot of background information. What the head of the network said.

She talks about the process of writing, what it's like to be a scriptwriter, breakdown writer, head writer, script editor. She names past soap writers and what it was like to work with them, working under other writers, working alongside other writers, finding writing staff to work under you. Working with producers. What they did in the old days when an actor wasn't fitting the writing, or a pairing didn't have chemistry --- how/if the writing could be adapted or not. A lot of of information, all interesting!

The entire interview is in-depth, I recommend listening to all of it. . And yes she talks about how the rape of Laura was written. It can be discussed here, of course. Kyle has a son Harrison who is elementary-school aged, approximately 8 years old, give or take a few years. The child's backstory: The child was conceived when Kyle was somewhere around his early twenties -- Kyle was living in New York, but partying in the Hamptons in the summers -- at one of those parties, Kyle slept with an older married woman. Her husband was originally thought to be the father, but wasn't. Her husband died, she's in jail, and Kyle has custody. So yeah that would make Kyle about the same age as Martin. Kyle Abbott and Abby Newman-Winters are approximately the same age as each other. Their mothers Diane Jenkins and Ashley Abbott separately tried to steal Victor Newman's sperm from a sperm bank around the same week. Diane accidentally took Jack Abbott's sperm instead. The thefts were close in time, but I'm not sure about the timeframe of the inseminations.

Per several cast interviews, the Y&R cast was in Atlanta for four days in January 2026 to film the crossover. So Diane attending the BTG event was filmed months before Diane disappeared on Y&R. Y&R had months to write/adjust dialogue to explain her being at Fairmont Crest, and why Jack was unsurprised to see her there. Y&R characters know Victor was in Fairmont Crest. Why don't they discuss Diane ? ? ? I wonder if this newly-cast doctor's arc will explain any of this? ? ?

Despite being missing on Y&R, Diane appears on BTG in the crossover. Doris Belack's Anna Wolek Craig was everything. I watched her live and loved her. I don't think I saw the recast. Always exclaimed with glee whenever Anna Craig appeared as the judge on Law & Order series.

The social media cross-promotion for both soaps for the crossover has been fantastic, really really great. (it's in the special spoiler thread for the crossover.) Great until they didn't tell the BTG actresses that Matt Clark is a rapist.
