  7. Yeah great description of PureFlix. I had no idea Jill Wagner had done "family-friendly" Christmassy-type movies. I've only seen her in Lioness where she plays a badass military operative who hangs out with the male operatives and kills bad guys. I cannot even imagine her doing Hallmark or Pureflix or G.A.M.
  8. This, so much this, re: DAYS.
  9. I will never defend Sheila. I have never forgiven her for all the evil things she did on YR decades ago.

  15. Regarding the cotillion: There was a primetime soap called "Our Kind of People" about the wealthy Black community of Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard. Similar premise to Beyond the Gates but more sensationalized. The series was loosely inspired by a book by author Lawrence Otis Graham -- he wrote about Black elite communities. In the series, Yaya de Costa plays a working-class single mom -- and her character is the secret out-of-wedlock daughter of a wealthy man in the community. Debbi Morgan recurs as her aunt. The cotillion is a big deal in the series, and Yaya's character tries to get her teenaged daughter to be allowed to participate in the cotillion. Along with the cotillion dance itself, the exclusive woman's association/sorority promotes women in business, does scholarships, etc. I have to admit that I knew nothing about Black wealthy elite communities until I saw that series. Of course I realized the series was sensationalized, but it inspired me to learn more actual facts about the topic -- so then I was somewhat prepared for Beyond the Gates. I still need to read Lawrence Otis Graham's books. "Our Kind of People" aired on Fox in the 2021-2022 season for 12 episodes. It was available on Hulu for a while, but I don't know if it's still there. It can still be found on Amazon. I think it's worth a watch. Debbi Morgan describes the series on this video:
  16. I'm glad SB is on leave and this "key art" is currently irrelevant. It is my hope that when he returns, he's just part of the ensemble and not at the center of anything. Jane Elliot and Rory Gibson should be added to the show's future key art images.
  17. Nathan Varni, who oversees GH, said this: Nathan Varni @nathanvarni Jan 25, 2026 "Historical sweeps hasn’t existed in years. Today, national networks use continuous measurement across linear, DVR, and streaming platforms.
For daytime dramas, this means major storylines are planned year-round—not just during sweeps, which now mainly matter to local stations." https://x.com/nathanvarni/status/2015469454852079821

  19. Four preview/promo videos for week of April 6:
  20. I've never seen anything about Finola's health on her own social media or in legit news reports. Any discussion of it might be an unfounded rumor? I'm very curious what's happening with her. But I just don't know if it's a vacation or a contract thing or a wish for time off or what. So I'll just wait.
  21. As posted above, the character of Luke had already died while Tony Geary was still alive, and they had already had a memorial service for Luke back then. So the Tony Geary tribute was easier to write in. One tribute for Tony Geary was a few seconds of his old scenes added onto the end of an episode (with a couple of actors voicing over) -- it was literally a few seconds. One tribute was a rerun of Geary's final episode in Port Charles (not counting his scene in Europe with Tracy). A rerun they simply had to air, but not prepare. The full newly-created tribute for Geary was a standalone episode inserted, written as Alexa Havins' Lulu honoring her dad who had died while she was in a coma. Being an inserted standalone, they didn't have to write a storyline. When a viewer asked about a tribute for Tristan -- Nathan Varni said: "Since the character hasn’t passed away on screen, writers are working on a story to weave into the show later in 2026 for a proper send off." https://x.com/nathanvarni/status/2009109151063134686
