For anyone wondering about the banner comments in this thread, there was recently a temporary banner at all of SON (not just fanclubs) for a few days (likely a test run), that has since been removed. It had male/female stars for each of the five soaps. Just a quick test banner of random pics photoshopped together. BTG Tamara/Clifton, B&B KKL/Thorsten, GH Genie/Maurice, Y&R EB/Melody, and for DAYS it had Deidre and Robert Scott Wilson. That was for the entire forum and not just fanclubs, but someone jokingly snarked that maybe a RSW fanclub person suggested that he be on the banner, LOL. This is off-topic for fanclubs, but following up on that, @Errol why not make Deidre alone be the "face of Days". If you need a second "face of Days", I suggest Susan Seaforth Hayes. If you need a patriarch, I suggest James Reynolds.

Love this! The color-coded round icons are easy to read and find. on my Windows P.C., from a browser, the main forums menu has this banner at the top, which is intended to show all five soaps: But I can see that only when I reduce my display to 50% size in my PC browser. And then it's hard to read. At full size, I can see only part of the menu selections, so some of the soaps are cut off, and fanclubs doesn't display: Could you put those lovely round colorful icons in the top forum menu banner as clickable buttons, like you have on the main SON website? Also, on my phone, viewed from a browser, there's no banner at the top, but there's the usual clickable three horizontal lines menu icon.

I am voting for weekly for BTG. (Especially the cotillion and crossover would have benefited from dedicated threads for those weeks.) I am voting for monthly for Y&R, B&B, and DAYS. For GH, I could see weekly or monthly, but I'm choosing weekly. Not part of the voting ... but I think this would affect the voting: You said we can initiate separate threads about whatever's happening such as, "the argument between characters xyz and 123" or "the scheme that character 456 is plotting", or "character A giving flowers to character B", etc. Is that still true? If so, then sometimes such a topic could be for one episode, one week, or ongoing for weeks/months. If these types of threads become more common, then that might affect the number of posts in weekly or monthly discussion threads.

Speaking of dogs, there is the important warning that everyone has heard about not leaving your dog in a car for even only five minutes on a warm day -- due to how the interior of a vehicle can rise in temperature much faster than the outside temperature. But it's not as well-publicized that the bottoms of a dog's paws can get burned, or at least become very painful, from walking on hot pavement or hot concrete.

As mentioned, Javi has been recast with Jacob Martinez and his debut airdate is June 30. Several sources confirm that Al Calderon has already had has final airdate as Javi, but there are varying reports of the exact date of that episode. SOD says says (link) "Al Calderon (Javi Hernandez): The actor aired for the final time as Javi on June 18." s.o.news says (link) "Al Calderon has wrapped up his run as Javi Hernandez on Days of Our Lives. Soap Opera News can confirm that Calderon’s appearance earlier this month marked his final episode in the role. Javi was last seen seeking a favor from his cousin Gabi before later crossing paths with Leo, who was caring for baby Kelsey at the Brady Pub." I think both of those are mistaken? Javi didn't air on June 18. I think he may have last aired at the hospital or in the Square, but I'm not sure what day. At any rate, Calderon has apparently already finished airing. @JAS0N47 since you track daily cast charts, what is the most recent episode you show Calderon in?

Through the years, I've heard real-life stories of people learning a new language from watching soaps that are broadcast in that language. I would imagine B&B could work for that, due to all the repetitive dialogue (but with limitations). You wouldn't learn how to say anything deep or interesting, but you could memorize stupid phrases easily.

Someone in the comments said the brunette was Elinor Donahue, but that's wrong. Donahue played Stefano employee Kate Honeycutt but she didn't start airing until several months after this episode. Thanks to Jason's info, this is actress Shirley DeBurgh as Delia Abernathy.

I don't think Marlena knew about John/Tori before Will showed her the photo of Tori on DiMera property (?) My speculation is was that she wouldn't have thought of John as the father, but she intuitively figured it out once Will brought it up -- because she sensed a similarity in vibe between John and Paul? I think? It's been 11 years so I might be remembering it wrong. It's interesting reading in those recaps that Marlena went to Tori's hotel room and said you had an affair with John. Back then, I had interpreted it as Marlena just figuring it out then, but not knowing about the affair previously. But you might be right, perhaps John had long ago (or recently) mentioned his Tori affair to Marlena (obviously offscreen) -- I hadn't thought of that.

Going back to Deidre's 50th: one of the things I love about Marlena is that she accepted Paul as John's son, with zero jealousy, and open arms. She wanted John to know his son. It was all love.

yes, that was a part of the storyline of Will being very obnoxious. Will was jealous of the Paul/Sonny connection, so he wanted to make Paul look bad. Will, as a reporter, discovered an old photo of Tori on the DiMera lakefront property. Will wanted to claim that Paul was Stefano's secret son, and that Paul had come to Salem with nefarious intentions. Tori hadn't wanted to tell John about her pregnancy in a letter or a phone call, though, so she had returned to Salem to break the news to him in person, hoping they might be able to build a life together because he had struck her as a man of integrity. "But when I saw you...everything changed," Tori added. Tori said she had found John praying in a church and had decided not to talk to him after realizing he had devoted his life to the priesthood. "I was not going to be the reason you abandoned your vocation," Tori explained. John thought Tori still should have told him the truth, but Paul warned him not to criticize her for the sacrifice she had made, arguing that she couldn't have possibly known that the priesthood was going to be just another casual commitment -- a phase -- for John.

Brady being Belle's big brother is legit as we saw them born on screen, and saw them grow up together. And maybe teen Brady defended or protected Belle in some storyline, or in a scene? Brady, Paul, and Belle, being born within a few years of one another allows for some wiggle room, since Paul was conceived and born offscreen. Twins Eric and Sami are so much older, since teen Sami kidnapped newborn Belle. Has Belle ever referenced Eric as her "big brother"? I dunno because they often seem to write Belle and Sami as being closer in age than they are.
