  1. Unimportant who I was confused about. I was in error regardless.
  2. Maybe I'm confusing her with McTavish. Someone fans hated.
  3. Yes I have been reading about that. But I never watched any of the shows Santa Barbara or Guiding Light, not at all. So all the comments about what went on with those shows don't really register in my mind. However I am familiar with JFP micromanaging on AMC and Y&R so I get the general idea. Edit, not AMC.
  4. Oh! Thanks on all three points. I wasn't able to watch regularly during that time period so I missed a lot.
  5. Well, that storyline wasn't worth remembering.
  6. Trying to get back on topic, I asked about JJ's exit as Lucky because I wondered how Mulcahey felt about the character. (Since that exit was written as Lucky being presumed dead in a fire). Glad to learn that JJ wanted to leave and it wasn't something Mulcahey initiated. Just trying to understand what characters Mulcahey would write for.
  7. Burton said in several recent interviews that he's getting older and probably only has two or three years of acting left in him (whatever that means), and so he wanted to end his acting career on GH if possible.
  8. Thanks to to all the people who replied to my question about JJ's exit, that it was his choice.
  9. Yes. You more clearly stated what I rambled on about here: https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/65836-all-february-sweeps-previews/?do=findComment&comment=1893142
  10. Oh right. Someone saw them filming at The Savoy set for the Valentine's Day episode. The SOD 2024 preview said "Maxie/Spinelli: Maxie and Spinelli are growing closer, not just because they're sharing quarters, but the fact that Maxie and Spinelli moved in under false pretenses thanks to Felicia's scheming is a ticking time bomb that may come back to haunt them."
  11. The B&B stuff is probably Luna's paternity? and definitely the Emma stuff. The Days stuff for Valentines day: the scavenger hunt and Johnny/Chanel wedding we already knew. Jarlena romance is eternal. The only spoilers are the breakfast surprise and the ring. The GH stuff - Sprina in Paris is this week which is in the daily spoilers. The looming threat is new. The return is Jason of course. The rekindled romance? Don't know. Y&R is what already aired in January as everyone said above-thread.
  12. The TV Guide print magazine comes out only every three weeks. Plus it is sent out early in the postal mail. This new regular feature of a soaps column that began after SOD shut down ... doesn't really work in this model. Due to the timing logistics, whatever soaps spoilers they print are either vague, what we already know, or have partially already aired. Following the prior pattern, this will be reprinted later on the tvinsider.com website, each soap having its own article.
  13. I read that theory elsewhere, recently, too. Do anyone know for sure? Was Lucky written out or did JJ choose to leave? If Lucky was written out, was it Mulcahey's idea or was it from someone else on the writing team or producers?
  14. Yes he has said that in multiple interviews in the past few weeks.
  15. She did, a few years ago. (2020-2021)
  16. Jon Stewart returning to the Daily Show (hosting once a week to help make sense of the 2024 election) And as executive producer. https://www.vulture.com/article/jon-stewart-the-daily-show-return-2024.html Starting February 12, Jon Stewart will host The Daily Show every Monday to see the show through to the end of the 2024 election cycle. The show’s team of correspondents will share hosting duties for the rest of each week. Stewart will also serve as an executive producer and help the show decide on a new, more permanent direction. (on Comedy Central) Edit to add an fyi: For Canadians, it will stream the following day on ParamountPlusCanada More here: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/jon-stewart-the-daily-show-host-1235802984 "The move comes after Stewart prematurely exited his Apple TV+ show, The Problem, following creative differences between the iPhone maker and its host over potential topics and guests."
  17. Back to Patrick Mulcahey and GH -- Did he ever write for the character Lucky, and if so, how?
  18. I remember this! It was so convoluted. This was before VCRs and internet, and I didn't have soap mags, and nobody I knew watched soaps, so I was trying to follow along by myself and figure it out while it was airing. He's the bad guy, no *he* is the bad guy, no wait, what? Oh!
  19. The above Brighton interview is wonderful. Highly recommend. (Fairman was emotional and repeated himself a little, but it seemed (to me) that that was him speaking less as an interviewer and more as a viewer, still deeply moved by the Bobbie memorial with "Angela" Brighton in the episodes. Then he would recover for a minute and speak as an interviewer.) Brighton herself is amazing. She deeply remembers her time on the show a child actor. She was on the show since she was a baby so maybe doesn't remember the first few years but certainly remembers several years of her time there. She says it's one the most important things in her life, despite it ending 39 years ago. She had a single mom and she had siblings in the business, but the cast and crew were like her family, too. To come back and see so many veteran actors and some crew/staff still there - was so familiar. She said everything looked exactly the same but felt smaller in size, since she is now taller than when she was a child, LOL. She remembers her time working as a child, vividly, and Jackie, and Brad Maule. So many things that we as viewers remember, that you wouldn't expect a child actor to notice, she remembers! Specific scenes, etc. Brighton said it was great seeing everyone again, and they were surprised/happy to see her, too. Brighton said that when she was a child, she'd watched Zenon (The Disney films that Kirsten Storms appeared in) !!! - and was happy to meet Kirsten because of that, in addition to the more important relevance that Maxie has BJ's heart. She said Kirsten was great and helped her orient. She said that Maurice Benard gave her a rundown on how filming happens nowadays which was helpful. Seeing Lynn Herring and Kristina Wagner again, getting to know Ryan Carnes, etc. etc. etc. She said she didn't want her return to be about her. She wanted it to be about Jackie. While she was filming the recent episodes, she could have spent time socializing more, but instead chose to keep the focus on remembering Jackie and honoring Bobbie. This was meaningful to her. She said it was spiritual or something like that, but didn't want to label it specifically. She liked that it was open to viewer interpretation. Just watch. She's amazing.
  20. 1/23/2024 Michael Fairman chats with Brighton Hertford (BJ)
  21. Michael Maloney transcribed the text of Janice Ferri Esser's facebook post here: https://soaphub.com/young-restless/news-yr/a-long-time-yr-writer-announces-a-major-change/
  22. Errol said above "co-head writers Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor, whose scripts will air into March."
  23. Despite the stalling of storylines, I didn't mind Van Etten and O'Connor. At any rate, they should get an Emmy for the Bobbie memorial. As long as we don't go back to the Carly/Jason/Sonny show, I'm okay. I liked Sarah Joy Brown's Carly causing trouble and working her way up from hardscrabble, as part of an ensemble cast. I don't want Carly as the *lead* of the show.
