yes I thought of the Renee party... But this is different because I'm talking specifically about the revealer convincing someone else to throw the party. And the someone else complies, having no idea what the revealer plans. I'm wondering if Michele Val Jean did a first with BTG in 2025. But the BTG thread is already so busy -- that I thought it important to *NOT* clog it up with discussing this, so I brought the question here instead. That way, if other reveals come up in conversation, it's not a problem on this "general retro soap" thread.

To be clear, I know there have been a gazillion reveals at events on soaps. But these are usually events that would happen anyhow, like a city commemoration or a long-planned wedding. My *specific* question: Has a character ever orchestrated an event to occur, for a seemingly benevolent reason, but actually for the sole purpose of spilling a reveal at the party, to the surprise of the event planners/hosts. Specifically: an event that the event hosts wouldn't have thought of making happen, and the hosts planned this event -- only due to the seemingly-innocent urging of the outside instigator who is secretly planning the reveal. This is NOT about an event that would have happened anyways. My reason for asking: April/May 2025, on BeyondTheGates, a couple was NOT planning a wedding anniversary party. But there was a plot by an instigator to convince the couple to have the party, and the motivation for this was so that the instigator could do a big reveal. The party wouldn't have happened if the instigator hadn't suggested it. I'm wondering if this has ever happened before on a soap, that a big event came into existence due to the plotting of the revealers.

Bill braces for his part in Ted's deception to come to light. ---------- The changes: Monday April 28 Naomi and her client were not in the episode. Instead, Chelsea met with Allison from her threesome, for a twosome date. Friday May 2 Thankfully no Ashley and Derek.

No. Eva thinks Leslie is really her mom. The two of them have been telling the story to Fairmont residents that Leslie is a friend who took in Eva after Eva's parents died. Leslie chose this lie so as to maximize the surprise that Leslie didn't abort. (Eva didn't know about the abortion part of the history).

Eva convinced Nicole to have the party -- due to Leslie/Dana's insistence that there be a party when they do their planned dramatic reveal. They haven't specified which anniversary it is for Ted and Nicole. How many years have they been married? It's not 10, 20, 25, 30 or some specific number that you'd celebrate. Kat pointed out that there was no plan for a party until Eva instigated it, which indicates to me that it's some odd number of years.

This is the *new* Rachel Black who just started airing on DAYS 4/25/2025, but of course with the ginormous tape-to-airdate gap on DAYS, she'll be airing on DAYS for months to come. And yet now she'll be new ex-Rachel. LOL.

Last I heard, Mariah was working for Cassidy First Technology, the company that Sharon renamed after inheriting it from Cameron Kirsten. But honestly, I'm not sure where anyone works since everyone changes jobs on this show.

Dani had a flashback of Dani getting ready for an event with Bill. The gown she wore in the flashback was light green and elegant and gorgeous. The light green flashback dress was quite different than the red/orange/lilac swirling print beaded gown that Dani is wearing to Nicole's anniversary party. But there was clearly the show's intention to have the Dupree women (except for Nicole) wearing shades of red. I love Anita but the red gown that she's wearing to the anniversary party -- not flattering.

Party wardrobe color theme: Good Queen Nicole is in a solid gold gown. The other Dupree women (plus Smitty) are wearing shades of red/pink (with purple accents) -- Anita, Dani, Chelsea, Kat, in dresses. -- Smitty in white shirt and maroon jacket. (did not see Naomi?) "The help" Eva and Mona are in black. Antagonist queen Leslie/Dana in a black/gold gown. The men (except for Smitty) are wearing black. Ted - white shirt, black tie, black jacket. I agree with everyone who commented on it being a last-minute stupid contrived exit episode. Summer's exit was only part of the episode, just kind of thrown in there. The rest of the episode was: When Sharon and Nick returned, one of them mentioned that Christian enjoyed the trip. I guess Christian and Faith went with them to visit Noah in England? Noah is still dating Jack's granddaughter Allie who lives in Europe. Billy visiting the Abbott mansion, seeing the redecorating and telling Diane he doesn't like it, then leaving. Sally confirming she'll work for Billy, and Phyllis being annoyed to learn that Sally got her job. Adam telling Victor and Nick that Chelsea will be working for him. Nick commented to Adam that it was weird that Chelsea would give up her fashion career. Phyllis meeting with Tessa to discuss Daniel's state of mind. Phyllis wants Daniel to go back to work for Billy. Tessa says Daniel needs something different. Mariah talking with Sharon. Sharon started to say that it was too bad that Mariah/Tessa/Aria didn't come on the family trip. Sharon's all cheery but finally notices Mariah is upset. Mariah confides that she is still not okay after Ian being around months ago. Mariah says that Ian's presence a few months ago has made Mariah question if she was *ever* mentally healthy (since she was raised by Ian and he had controlled her etc etc etc.,) Mariah blames herself for doing Ian's bidding at times. And then Mariah confides to Sharon that something happened on Mariah's business trip that she just returned from -- that Mariah got into a bad mental state as a result of everything -- and got drunk on hotel room alcohol, and then did something awful. Mariah didn't say what the awful thing was, but said she can't tell Tessa. (I don't think it's cheating? Just something she thinks Tessa wouldn't forgive). That was the end of the episode - Mariah being scared about whatever dark place she's in. All of that stuff happened in the episode. The Summer exit scenes were just sprinkled into the episode between the unrelated scenes. But the episode wasn't focused on Summer.
