I notice Derek's stiff/unnatural way of walking, too. Not normal for a firefighter who needs to be in top physical shape. I wondered if it would connect to his TBI from the ceiling collapse at the fire. But then, he's already gone back to work as a firefighter, so his current walking doesn't make sense at all.
It has been established that Andre is independently wealthy because he inherited a fortune when his parents died in the plane crash. He can do whatever he wants, so he's been travelling the world doing photography. He doesn't need a job at all. They seem to be writing it that he happened to drop into Fairmont Crest to visit, then stopped by the hospital, and the elevator baby thing happened and he decided to stay in town. The silly hospital story feels like an artificial way to get him interacting with Ashley. Editing later, to add: I think Andre chose photography as a career because he enjoys it. And he can afford the equipment and any travel involved, which many photographers cannot afford.
When I first looked at this IG posted here, I saw the image on the front and then clicked on the left/right scrolling to see the other images. It appeared to a series of still images from old promos, with *only* the final screen coming alive into the "thank you" promo. On my device, there is no "arrow" showing in the middle of the other images to indicate that I could press the image to play the video. In this IG, I had saw only still images, and didn't see any promos except for the "thank you" one at the end. I read the posts by @Khan and @DRW50 here that were following that, and saw all the comments about various promos, and I was puzzled because I didn't see promos, so, at first, I assumed that the discussion must be referencing promos previously discussed much much earlier in this thread. Then I realized that you were describing what must be promos that specifically relate to the images I saw. I wondered at first if you both had previously seen all those promos and that the still images were simply bringing the promos back up for discussion. But then I decided to investigate, and I pressed my mouse onto the middle of each image and then saw each promo video come alive. Aha! What a richness of cheesy old promos! Thanks to @dragonflies for posting this and to both of you who commented!
atrupar is out there every day posting on bluesky and twitter the play-by-play of everything political. Live-tweeting events so we don't have to watch them. I'm often grateful. yet at the same time often wondering if he takes breaks, so that he doesn't collapse. I was happy to see this today -- it's a simple thing, but important.

I noticed that, too. I wasn't sure if it was the untalented acting of the actor (because the character Derek seems uncomfortable with everything)... or if the character has a specific aversion to having his picture taken due to worrying about exposure of a secret past.
I'm guessing the same, that March Madness through off the timing of cliffhangers. MVJ wrote for B&B for 14 years, so she's aware of the annual March Madness 2-day preemption. However, I remember that the show was originally announced to begin airing in "early 2025" with no specific date -- and some of us who were reading the early announcements had assumed/guessed back then that it would debut in perhaps January or early February. Much later on it was clarified that the debut would be February 24. Speculation: I wonder if MVJ had planned for the show to debut a few of weeks earlier than it did, which would have meant for episodes #20 and #25 to air on Fridays instead of on Tuesdays. Just speculating. (But don't have the patience to sort through all the Ashley/Derek stuff, to see what aired when, to verify that speculation). Recently I posted this on another thread. "Sami is a rapist, too. The show has never dealt with specifically calling it that. She's also been raped by multiple people. Sami needs therapy. The show refuses to deal with this issue for her, and until they do it, I have no reason to tune in" I posted that, but I never thought it would happen... I do think Sami can use some therapy, and working through some of those issues is probably very healthy for her. So, in some ways, she’s really tackled her feelings about what happened then and gotten some perspective on it.” I am skeptical that this was done well, but at least it's something.

I don't want any Guza-style stuff, because I hated what Guza did on GH. I want Ashley and Derek gone but just let them disappear never to be mentioned again
