  1. It was giving Lucy/Duke in 2014-15 for awhile as it was almost entirely offscreen, but I could swear it was confirmed some time ago.
  2. Lucy and Cueball have been offscreen banging for awhile. I was annoyed about it before and still kind of am. But at this point tbh I'd have her get wise to Sidwell, marry him convinced she can finagle the situation (or get blackmailed into it re: Deception, idk) and scheme behind his back for 6-9 months. Carlo Rota is a funny dude and he and Lynn clashing more could be entertaining. And then you can finally kill him off and pull a whole Jonathan Kinder situation with Lucy and some of the girls. Kevin gets involved because he's all worried about Lucy, that sparks a reunion tease, etc. Whatever!
  3. Is Hayley still texting stuff like "bring me more poison" or "Cousin! The poison for my husband was too much!!" to Randy on her registered phone today? At least use the burner, girl. Maybe some emojis. ☠️🤮👼
  4. This whole "make the audience think Vernon is cheating by having him get secret singing lessons with Sharon" subplot did not need to go on for two months. Per spoilers he is only going to sing around Christmas. Ol' Vernon has already used every possible double entendre short of "I can’t wait to put it (my talent) in!” Move it along!
  5. I know you were very into the idea of short-length episodic soaps, so I thought this might be of particular interest to you. P&G has definitely not been shy about heavily promoting product in BTG with a subtlety that makes any soap after the '60s look restrained lol. Fortunately the audience seems to have taken to the kitsch of it.
  6. I suspect it will take more than Thiebaud's salary and JPS' recurring rate to get VM back. But there's plenty of people to fire lol.
  7. I mean, I'm usually against actually pulling the trigger there but right now (especially with Jason back in the Q fold)... maybe. But yes, I would bring back her gay hellraising son and have her work with Lois (and Lucy) re: Deception. She could be the ace in the hole for Lucy as well.
  8. I have been pleased with the considerable fanbase Martin and Smitty have acquired once Martin removed about 3/4ths of the stick up his ass. They have really won me over. It helps that they're one of the few healthy couples currently on the show lol.
  9. Or Selina had Brad shoot Drew, which is one of the dumbest ideas I can conceive of but which I think is definitely possible lol. Either way, he's coming. They've hyped his return up with constant mentions from both Britt and Lucas recently and we're going to get him. I don't think the show has any real commitment to LGBT story atm, but I do think there's been people in the writers' room for years who just loooove Britt and Brad together and so that's why we have this angle returning. I can't stand either one.
  10. Yeah, Van Etten or someone loves Brad and Britt/Brad. That's the only reason any of this is happening. I never need to see Brad again.
  11. He did at ABC, but not from Frank. I think the classic Cassadines were leagues beyond Valentin in menace or charisma, even in their meandering years.
  12. Frank (allegedly) despised Julian/WdV lol. Tried to kill him off multiple times before the bitter end, including the time Julian tried to murder Alexis with the dagger that killed her mother. FB viewers or something saved him from above, I think. I would put both Jerry and Julian far above Valentin, and I was far from Julian's biggest fan (or Jerry's most of the time). They at least had some presence (and/or menace for Jerry) and didn't weep constantly or come off like subway perverts.
  13. It is not that serious. On the one hand there is plenty to fix about this show, as with any soap opera in its first year. And plenty to critique or harshly critique. I wasn't particularly thrilled with some elements of the last week/month either. Starting with the dialogue and plotting. I think a lot of those criticisms are very valid. OTOH, I just don't take harsh outraged critique super seriously from longtime daily viewers of present day B&B or Days of our Lives. Sowwy! 😊
  14. I would just use Mia Korf today to introduce an Asian family tied directly to Blair's foster home past, lol. Her old partner in crime. It's the best you can do. I am glad Malone was committed to the character he created, but it's just a messy and unfortunate situation all around looking back through 2025 eyes. Kassie's Blair was rightly beloved and popular over time (and she got some seriously unsympathetic story in that first year) and thanks to Malone's work the core of the character remains the same, but Mia Korf's Blair was something entirely unique for daytime then and now. It helps that unlike the future Blair, Korf's never got to be totally shackled to an obsession with a man like Todd (though Max came close).
  15. I know about that flop! I think she left explicitly to do that play. Tough break.
  16. I can only imagine the furor BTS re: not just the Sonny stuff but Mulcahey's obvious intent to ice out Valentin along with Easton and probably Sasha (who they attempted to heavily re-root into the show immediately after PM was ousted with a Quartermaine baby and Scorpio ties, before they finally needed to cut her likely for budget). FV has always favored JPS and angled major story around his availability. I knew that if Valentin wasn't killed and finished off during Mulcahey's Pikeman wrap-up Frank would find an way to slowly re-weave him back in, and sure enough he has. I do agree they probably just credit their favorites with any number increases.
  17. She's Plan D! I am hanging around for the Drew/Willow saga and Michael atm. Not much else, and not five days a week.
  18. He said he always envisioned her as a Scarlett O'Hara type, yes, and that his ideas surrounding Blair, Max and later Todd were heavily influenced by his love for Gone with the Wind. IIRC he also said they simply cast whoever they found best for the role initially, namely Korf. I don't know if Mia Korf was another example of Gottlieb finding an interesting face and asking Malone to create a character. (As she did with Mark Brettschneider.) I do think both Blairs have elements of that GWTW archetype.
  19. They generally have wanted us to feel Valentin is both misunderstood and loving and also a dangerous, powerful man lol. I just find him to be a !@#$%^&*]in' wuss, to put it as politely as possible. He has never been anything but pathetic to me, with the brief exception of the moment when Mulcahey leaned into his obvious creepiness to begin to set him as a villain ready to exit the show. Once again, here he stays! They have already signposted that Lucas is actually rebounding from Brad, are constantly mentioning Brad, etc. and members of this creative team have long adored Brad and Brad/Britt. It is a matter of time before he returns and now that Marco is actively plotting with Sidwell, the pieces are all there for Lucas to be shamed and humiliated for ever doubting Sonny's wisdom re: Marco, leading to his inevitable reunion with Brad. Ugh.
  20. They definitely dress Lulu down onscreen and I don't think it is a coincidence given how BLQ/Setton presents. I think they don't want any other woman in that age range looking better than each other tbqh. But they also have given Lulu so little of substance period. And that too I feel is deliberate.
  21. It's insane and it would never be tolerated today. I loved Kassie's Blair and you can't go back, but it's still shameful, especially getting to see Mia close up recently; she was a revelation. They were very lucky Malone still shepherded the character in both incarnations. I think KDP has said only he ever knew how to write for Blair. What's almost as shameful is that daytime today would never cast an Asian woman in such a massive lead role. As far as I can tell it has not happened since. That was over 30 years ago.
  22. Re: Blair, Mia and Kassie were cute posing together at the OLTL/AMC reunion in 2018. Which is what gave me the idea re: how to use them both, in a perfect world were the show still around. I had forgotten that KDP didn't even know Blair had been Asian until her third callback audition lol. That's when they dropped the bomb. She first appears in December '93, and took great pains in the early years to keep her Southern drawl out of her voice and sound more like Korf or a high society bitch.
  23. If Dante and BLQ happen I think it will definitely happen after Chase and Willow. I don't think it would ever last but I really do think all moons orbit Amanda Setton for Frank in that age range at present. Then they'll introduce some other plastic fantasy man out of a Hallmark movie for Brook, or if we're lucky she'll actually net a man with a personality next time. Ironically, several years ago I was all for them trying out Dante and BLQ as a sort of screwball mystery-solving pair while Lulu was still gone and Setton wasn't quite so buttoned-up. I think it could've been fun. Today she's a schoolmarm, they have an adult son aging them both, Alexa Havins is here and so I just don't care.
