  1. There is that! A good idea, but still not one I'd keep around forever.
  2. Jonathan really surprised me in that role, which I did not think would suit him the way it did the more conventionally rugged GV. But he worked very well I thought, not just in that role but opposite Dominic. He managed to marry that unusual calling to the past Lucky of his youth. I think together Lucky and Dante could've been Luke and Scorpio for a new generation, but the poor writing and other BTS biases and issues ended that entire setup and crashed the creative team in place, in addition to driving JJ away. We have all seen plenty of soap cops but I just find Chase a vacant, placid manchild. We're not exactly dealing with Hal Munson, let alone Derek Mallory or even John McBain. I am not interested in watching Chase check with Mummy before solving cases. I would have him around for a good time, not a long time and then you can bring more cappable folks in. Be it someone new, or Lucky or someone like WSB agent Annie Donely. Ironically I would actually try BLQ (be it Setton or someone willing to dress like they haven't been in mourning for 5 years) in some fun high society murder mystery caper a la A Simple Favor or Knives Out, but using Chase in that capacity never crossed my mind lol. That's how bland he is to me.
  3. I actually think Willow can and will have at the least a ONS with Chase while married to Drew, a marriage she clearly now views as a mercenary arrangement (as she confessed to Nina). It's certainly what I'd do while having her use Drew for power and possibly more hate sex for awhile. Chase has never impressed me. He's a hard body and no brain, the mind and disposition of a middle schooler. At least the inanimate Paevey projects as an adult. JS has nary a fraction of the charisma or command DZ or even Jonathan Jackson or Greg Vaughan have had at the PCPD. He's disposable and I would dispose of him, after a bit of fun scandal and a good affair. If they don't pull the trigger on Chase/Willow they're passing up what they've clearly already been heading towards. But given FV's preoccupation with BLQ/Setton and seemingly wanting to make sure she always plays happy families and is presented as the ideal heroine to the audience, I wouldn't be shocked.
  4. Not Yakutsk! It is wasted because Chase is basically a little boy and her purseholder, and has no real personality. And Setton just isn't willing to play certain stuff. I have no investment. Their scenes feel like watching Great American Family.
  5. Can't wait for someone to get burned up about that.
  6. I love LB but they didn't always give her the best material, especially early on.
  7. I've talked about this before but I have definitely pondered the idea of them trying a 'next generation' soft reboot with another season like many shows in the mid-late '90s (Chicago Hope, etc.) - including talented young actors like Carla Gugino, Tom Verica, etc. who were all over the networks at that time. I think CBS in particular tried this a lot. Keep a few vets and then move young people back into the cul-de-sac. But I just don't think it would work. Number one, it rarely did for so many shows which tried the same thing (again, Chicago Hope lol). Number two, ER, 90210, Melrose, NYPD Blue etc. would have wiped it out no matter what. The show had had a very long, often strong run and it was time. But it's an interesting thought.
  8. I also think Mary O'Brien is excellent in what I've seen of Heather, both before and during the LSD trip (a fair amount of material from '78 and early '79 is online). She's very brittle and seems just off in a disturbingly real way. I think Monty just had it in for her.
  9. Ha! I never did see his odd appearance in the mid-2000s as himself as a musical guest, where they made a lot of in-jokes about him having been on the show before? I still wonder about that. tbh Jesse has visibly aged enough that he could pick up the role again today lol.
  10. I remember Ridings being terrible and miscast. He was better a few years later as Dorian's recurring henpecked aide in the final years of OLTL. Alberti was a nice body and not much else. They did the right thing dumping both. But I always thought it was a mistake not securing Jesse McCartney a while longer until they had to age J.R. up.
  11. Joni and Reggie could've gone far. It's for the best for both actors' careers they didn't though. I didn't know about Seyfried's other new movie but The Testament of Ann Lee looks wild.
  12. I am amazed Seyfried remembers Megan too lol. I shouldn't be surprised though, she has never forgotten how she was treated at ATWT. I haven't seen her new film but I look forward to see it. She was stunning as Elizabeth Holmes in The Dropout.
  13. I think Julie Pinson is a fine actress but this was in the era where it seemed like she was popping up everywhere just because (even though I think she'd only done two shows by then lol). Her being Billie was equally extraneous. She was a great lookalike for Lisa, and I never liked or accepted the Krista Allen Billie in any way and JP's version was superficially much closer to the original. But it still wasn't the same. I just didn't see a reason for Billie to be around at that point with another recast, and they never gave Pinson's Billie much of anything worthwhile, she seemed to just mope and whine. But nothing has ever compared to Lisa's original run anyway.
  14. I am pretty sure that is exactly what is going to happen, yet I'm still bored because Nathan is that blank a character.
  15. Nor I. I do think she's excellent and would be happy to have her back for extended stints as a villain, but the role they were putting Esme in during her amnesia year (clearly hoping to 'redeem' her) was intolerable to me given the already very shabby treatment re: Spencer and Trina. That's not Pohl's fault though. I also thought it was a mistake to make her the daughter of both Ryan and Heather. That's too much, a hat on a hat (and the backstory for how they met - some mountain cabin while everyone thought he was dead or something? - is silly). OTOH it beats their alleged original plan, which was for Ryan to somehow have stolen Felicia's eggs or something. Disgusting shades of the already sick Charlotte conception.
  16. Thanks. Such a wacky crossover of worlds.
  17. I think that was the whole point, really. JFP lowballed him because she wanted to cut him period (along with Laura Bonarrigo and Stephen Markle soon enough).
  18. No, I agree. It's what they would have done had the writers not been fired, Chavez not left and things not been overall interrupted.
  19. Incidentally, I like how they have Rip Van Nathan in the room going over this Drew case when he barely knows who these people are and has been in a mystery coma for almost a decade. Does Nathan even know who the president is? I mean, not that it's changed.
  20. Nuzzi is already out at Vanity Fair. I'm sure her next stop will be the equally-doomed Bari Weiss CBS.
  21. She makes a good villain I wouldn't mind seeing back sometime, but I think fortunately the window for trying to redeem her or put her with Spencer as an alternative to the dreaded Trina has long since past. I just rolled my eyes at CVE jumping at the chance.
  22. She's a ghost/hallucination, but still! I knew they wouldn't be able to resist sooner or later.
  23. I have been telling you those two will be fúcking or close to it a year from now. God help us all.
