  1. Andrew Yang…why does he keep saying things? Now he’s lauding the “Unity Ticket“ of Lincoln and (checks notes) Andrew Jackson??
  2. Too bad, I don't watch the recent series anymore, but Bold seems to really be soaring in terms of their social media engagement. If you're going to do reaction videos with soaps, this is the way to do it. Bring in some of the actors to talk about particular scenes.
  3. Good for her, though I am curious as to how the logistics of how her reporting will be carried out, especially if she has elected to remain in Russia, with censorship being what it currently is there.
  4. That was the time frame that I was thinking of but I didn’t want to guess since I wasn’t entirely sure.
  5. @Soapsuds, I think you will appreciate this one.😂
  6. @JosephThis post was from at least two years ago, so it seems that the account holder has made the video private. From a guess, the videos I was referring to might have been sometime during the ‘Banbury Cross’ storyline, the mystery that leads up to Frannie, Kim and Bob Highes and Seth Snyder‘s discovery of Sabrina. All I can really say is that your best bet is to try to do some digging on YouTube to see whether you can find another account that might have those videos posted. I have no idea where those might be. Someone here might know the exact dates, I don’t remember. Good luck.
  7. Speaking of the Pleasure Principle, someone posted this today. It illustrates what I mean about the spare setting and a single-minded vision of Janet dancing with no backup dancers, no fancy costumes, no extensive story involved in the video. Very few props.
  8. Reportedly, he attended that superspreader event. That Gridiron whatchamacallit.
  9. All this self-dealing, we knew this was likely happening but is this ever greed!
  10. Julianne has often spoken of the generosity of Kathryn Hays and Don Hastings. No production Is perfect and I am sure BTS had its issues even in her time but I have always appreciated how Moore has chosen to highlight how the generosity of her colleagues on the show, from Marisa Tomei showing her around on her first day to Don and Kathryn showing her spaces to stand as to get the best light in scenes. That cast photo and publicity still from the Doug Cummings story bring back so many memories rushing home from elementary school trying to get to see the second half of the show, even though I had usually programmed the VCR to record the episode. It was that compelling back in those days. Since Julianne and Marisa Tomei are so close, I do wonder whether word has gotten to Tomei as well?
  11. Will others within the TFG’s cabal, including the man himself ever face justice?
  12. One of my advisors in undergrad directed a few plays at Karamu House.
  13. A ‘red’ county in a ‘blue’ state.
  14. Agreed. I have been following the mess in politics in Pakistan. In case people don’t know what I mean.
  15. Senator Booker really did serve as a balm in a highly troubled process.
  16. Someone posted this, I encountered this at random, and I thought I would post here as an example of just how good Hays was. The way this scene escalate is so enthralling. Hays had Levels!
  17. It does seem like P&G soaps, some of whom like G&L and ATWT and EON paved the way for the daytime drama genre are some of the most disrespected shows, in terms of recognition by all but the most ardent fans. Lisa Brown gone. Some tweets then. Mostly crickets. Hopefully there will be some formal acknowledgment of her contribution to the genre, because heaven knows there was little of that to speak of during her lifetime.
  18. Same. I look at soaps today and even one or two soaps that came about in the late 80s and the 90s and I can’t say the same, looking at them through adult eyes, some of the storylines are insulting to one’s intelligence. At least, I can return to that era and watch and a lot of those storylines still hold up. Sometimes I can even find news things to appreciate, on occasion. As much as I have found some enjoyment revisiting B&B: From The Beginning, some of the stories have aged quite badly. A little contradictory to what she said in the Locher Room when she implied that things were tense right after stating Marland was trying to create a Black family where none had existed in the show’s history before. Then again, about half of Pinkins’ time on the show preceded Marland’s tenure on the show, so those intrigues could very well have been in ‘83-85. Some of that time seemed pretty chaotic at times.
  19. Even though Eileen Fulton was treated very poorly in the show’s final years, at the very least her peers had the good sense to award her with the Liftetime Achievement award, along with Don Hastings, so at least there is that. To my knowledge, no such accolades were ever bestowed upon Kathryn Hays. For years I asked, why won’t the Daytime Emmys give her a Lifetime Achievement award? They give them to game show hosts whose shows are no longer on the air, except perhaps in reruns, so why not Kathryn Hays? Now it really is too late to show her that appreciation.
  20. Well many of you fellow ATWT fans already know how I feel about Ms. Kathryn Hays. I don’t feel as though she ever truly got her due, in terms of individual awards but her imprint and contribution to the legacy of a daytime serial that came to define some of the best of the genre is immeasurable. Kim was not just one half of a core couple, she was a core character on her own and Hays played her with a subtlety and a depth that was and still is unique in the genre. She was one of the reasons why longtime fans could even still recognize that daytime drama in its final years.
  21. Ten years does seem like a lot but I don’t believe it will much impact his career as a producer. As an actor, is an open question, especially if it is on some big studio project. There are a few of his projects that are on hold but if they are far enough in development that he can’t be replaced without losing massive amounts of money, they’ll likely go forward. As for awards, a lot of those are predicated on politics and part of the reason why he won this year was part performance but mostly due to the presence of charm (he ran an effective Oscar campaign) and the goodwill that he’d built up over the years. It may have been in his memoir where he joked about any time he’s won an award (Grammy), he’s never been there in person to receive it. This Academy Awards was his first time being there to receive an award in person. Better he had stayed away.
  22. Mouratogolu is saying he talked with Serena first and it’s “at least for the short term” and Serena has stated her intention to return by Wimbledon but maybe she wants someone new to work with? I don’t think would be a bad thing for Serena to work with someone else if she really wants to return. We know she can win with other coaches, the question is, can Patrick win with other players?
