  1. This is a ever evolving scandal.
  2. Thiem and Wawrinka in the same Challenger could be intriguing.
  3. Psst. My PM inbox is open. I won't tell, I don't even watch the show anymore, I swear.
  4. Don't be surprised if the tentative name of a prospective spinoff is Triangles.
  5. True. The Thomas affair is a whole other mess to contend with. At the very least, the performative foolishness having to do with the interrogations involving the confirmation process have ended.
  6. The court and the people of America deserve to know what Justice Thomas's health status is. If he is in anyway incapacitated, he should resign or a decision to have him taken off his post should be made.
  7. And with that music afterwards. Classic! 🤣 I wish Robert Townsend had produced more installments over the years. Can you imagine if he and Victoria Rowell had collaborated?! That would have been too much black soap goodness. 😂
  8. Okay, maybe this is the best thread to put this article. Like I said in the other thread, while reading this article, I couldn't help but think that the age range of viewer that Netflix wants to court with these events, the 18-45 age demographic, would have comprised most of the demographic once courted by daytime soaps back when they actually put effort into this type of thing.
  9. Maybe this doesn't belong in this thread but reading this article, I couldn't help but think that the 18-45 female viewer that Netflix is courting with these Bridgerton-themed events are the demographics that daytime soaps would have courted once upon a time. Bizarre, some might say, but an attempt to do something out of the box.
  10. I agree. It's weird the things some people want to be first at doing. Spoiling it was never going to bring a torrent of lapsed viewers back to watch, so why spoil what modicum of old school soap opera storytelling remains?
  11. Someone proposed that it was Prince Charles, knowing/hoping they'd flop so that there would be less talk of the line of succession skipping Charles and Camilla and going directly to William and Kate. That's why I was referring to that possibility as being Machiavellian. These folks are so out of touch that they believed that their lazy efforts would be received like "manna from heaven". There are staged photos where they are supposedly reaching towards grasping hands of school children behind a fence. What was not said was that those school children (who had gotten the time off from class) were there to see Jamaican born, British soccer/football star Raheem Sterling. The biggest message that came in loud and clear is that of the visa imbalance, where every majority white Commonwealth nation can travel to the United Kingdom without a passport, but none of the non-white majority nations, even though Brits are free to travel visa-free to any one of these nations. All nations in the Commonwealth with a non-white majority population must spend hundreds of dollars on a visa application, the majority of applicants will most likely be rejected. People ask why citizens of Canada, Australia and New Zealand can travel visa free to the U.K. while citizens of Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago can't, well that's just coincidence and timing. Wink.
  12. Their Caribbean tour has been mostly been a debacle, which makes me wonder whether Charles sent them as sort of a Machiavellian move, of sorts. Neither William nor Kate did their homework, offending many as they went along. Showing up to the Prime Minister's office wearing the colors of the opposition party, I am sure it must've given him great joy to deliver the announcement to their faces.🤣 The fact that Kate, that is, was wearing the colors of the opposing political party got a lot more talk than I expected.
  13. I think you mean Julie, no?
  14. People disagreed with me when I intimated that, in spoiling the surprise, would diminish the impact but had it not been revealed ahead of time, at least they would have had the surprise element for an episode, if nothing else.
  15. Most are unlikely to remember this but when Barbados (with newly minted national hero Rihanna in tow) officially broke with England and of having the Queen as their head of state, I stated that this would likely be followed by more nations, particularly in the Caribbean, to follow suit. The Prime Minister of Jamaica announced to William and Kate's faces that Jamaica is going to become a republic. https://news.yahoo.com/jamaican-prime-minister-tells-william-171505873.html?soc_src=social-sh&soc_trk=tw&tsrc=twtr According to what I am hearing, there is now talk in the Bahamas.
  16. Everyone's journey is different. I'll admit that when I first saw the announcement on SM, my first thought was that this might be another cricket break, but it does seem like her heart isn't in it, she'd rather stay in Australia, not have to travel and at this point, she doesn't need the money.
  17. Until recently, I would say this was the case. Over the past several years, though, luxury brands have been really vocal about their contempt for counterfeiters. https://jingdaily.com/lvmh-lawsuit-chinese-against-counterfeiters/ I am even seeing stories that some brands are looking to incorporate block chain to try to thwart the counterfeiters. Don't ask me how that works. I do agree that, there should have been at least one court case, possibly involving Forrester Creations vs. Spectra over a collection or some design. Then again, B&B is absurd in the myriad ways it chooses to ignore many obvious aspects of the fashion industry.
  18. If I hear Bill Spencer refer to Stephanie as a very sensual woman, or Margo as a very sensual woman one more time... I swear he even said something to the effect of "Well obviously he's a sensual person..." when referring to Mick Savage.🤣 The writing is wasting Jim Storm's abilities at this point.
  19. I thought Stephanie E. Williams was great on The Bold, The Black, The Beautiful, Robert Townsend's soap spoof. It was more entertaining than Generations tbh.
  20. I really hope so. It's weird because just yesterday, I was thinking that Rafa would likely do everything he can to prepare for RG to give himself the best chance he could to defend his 57th French Open title. Oh well, I guess.
  21. Which is exactly why I put it down to conservative forces among the decision-makers, rather than viewers. Just the proximity of the two characters as equals, rather than Amy being ina subservient position to Paul (a la Lynn) would be enough to bring on that fear that some writer at some soap mag might propose the question. Amy came from a solidly middle class family, her father was Carl Williams' boss. She wasn't in the same socio-economic millieu as Mamie.
  22. She was probably entering that forbidden territory of being too close to becoming a future romantic possibility for Paul too. Conservative forces in the executive wing of the show's production company and in the network had to nip that in the bud before the soap mags started to ask uncomfortable questions.
  23. Apparently, Rafa's rib stress fracture means he will likely be out of competition for 4-6 weeks. Conspiracy theory nutjobs are using this as promote antivaxx propaganda to claim that because Rafa stated problems with breathing (I have had a bruised rib from yoga years ago and yes, it hurts to breathe, or do any movement of the torso on that affected side/area) that it must be because he was vaccinated. 🙄
