The press has let the impudence of Clarence and Virginia Thomas grow over decades now, which is why I personally don't buy the argument that Clarence behaves/is treated like other Supreme Court Justices and unelected public figures. Did this creeping sense that this news getting out and would lead to more precipitate a hospital stay for Thomas? Or at the very least, an extended stay?

That's a point we've definitely been discussing on this board over the years. What I meant was that I think it's interesting how Netflix and Bridgerton is making a push to cater to this particular demographic outside of the streaming platform, IRL events similar to how ComicCon caters to a certain consumer. It was even more interesting that their argument seems to be that they believe that this particular demo (women 18-45) is virtually ignored in this space.

True. The Thomas affair is a whole other mess to contend with. At the very least, the performative foolishness having to do with the interrogations involving the confirmation process have ended.

The court and the people of America deserve to know what Justice Thomas's health status is. If he is in anyway incapacitated, he should resign or a decision to have him taken off his post should be made.

Okay, maybe this is the best thread to put this article. Like I said in the other thread, while reading this article, I couldn't help but think that the age range of viewer that Netflix wants to court with these events, the 18-45 age demographic, would have comprised most of the demographic once courted by daytime soaps back when they actually put effort into this type of thing.

I agree. It's weird the things some people want to be first at doing. Spoiling it was never going to bring a torrent of lapsed viewers back to watch, so why spoil what modicum of old school soap opera storytelling remains?

What was not said was that those school children (who had gotten the time off from class) were there to see Jamaican born, British soccer/football star Raheem Sterling. The biggest message that came in loud and clear is that of the visa imbalance, where every majority white Commonwealth nation can travel to the United Kingdom without a passport, but none of the non-white majority nations, even though Brits are free to travel visa-free to any one of these nations. All nations in the Commonwealth with a non-white majority population must spend hundreds of dollars on a visa application, the majority of applicants will most likely be rejected. People ask why citizens of Canada, Australia and New Zealand can travel visa free to the U.K. while citizens of Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago can't, well that's just coincidence and timing. Until recently, I would say this was the case.
