  1. Oddly in regards to Ashley..my opinion changed based on who played her. Eileen's Ashley worked best with Victor and not so much with Brad...imho. Brenda's Ashley would have worked best with Brad if she played Ashley during their marriage and her Ashley was almost too confident to be Victor's wife.
  2. I wouldn't say it was a good scene...but it was a good episode based on a stupid story and decision. Nursery rhyme stalker was a bad story..and one of the results was the stupid decision to kill Jenna off. What resulted was Jenna visiting all the people she had ties/history with (Buzz, Vanessa, Harley, Alexandra, and Holly)...with one scene having India wish she had known Jenna better with Alex stating they would have a lot to talk about.
  3. Erica: Dimitri...but I so think she did love hubby #3 Tom...but she met him too early in her life. Y & R Nikki: Jack OLTL Dorian: toss up between Mel and Herb Adam Chandler: Brooke was his true love....but for the sparring aspect..a toss up between Erica and Liza.
  4. I'm surprised that the show had positive ratings at that point according to the article. I do think moving Maggie out of the diner was probably a good idea though she did have that busybody diner persona down. It is a shame that the Eve Arden element was abandoned a few episodes into the show instead of maintained up through Barnaba's arrival.
  5. Bold and the Beautiful: Brooke helping her mother at a catering event a few months into the show's run in 1987. Y & R: Victor seeing Nikki strip at the Bayou in fall 1981...a year of various random character interactions..who knew this particular one would take off.
  6. Days: I would say Roman's being persumed dead in late 1984 has spurred story that's lasted to this day (including the 1993 John/Marlena affair). Marlena being possessed by the devil spurred some plots that resonate today (encouraging Sami to go after Austin when Sami had a moment of guilt/hesitation, showing Kristen that Tony was deceptive..which eventually led to Kristen going to the dark side, and kickstarted John/Marlena's renewed feelings after the affair story in 1993). Guiding Light: Ed/Lillian's affair..which led to Mo's death thus changing the canvas forever (Lillian visiting Mo's grave in the final week really showed the impact of that affair)
  7. Stacy H is a better Susan Banks than Eileen was.
  8. This is why these shows need to always adjust their casting every season...or else it becomes too toxic. I often think Emily/Gina will never be let go because they're boring enough not to become toxic (on OC).
  9. Except with Monique and Candiace...it wasn't unexpected. Things had been simmering for awhile..plus the two had been friends. Wendy and Mia..so left field.
  10. I'm so confused about the Mia vs Wendy conflict that went from 0 to 100 in a hot second. It seems like Candiace's absence caused Mia to focus on Wendy..imho
  11. Since the publication was the main backdrop of the show, it made sense that Carrie had to be tied to that locale instead of being branched out into more organic ways. In fact, I think a better story would have been to have Carrie be more of an anti fashion girl that is constantly writing columns lambasting the fashion industry. She could have actually been a decent writer and that could have been how she had an organic way to get Mark's attention since she would have seen his talent vs Stephanie. I think the Alex character had a lot of potential.. but perhaps had she been played by a different actress.. that potential could have been tapped. Also, I did like Peter/Nikki's chemistry and could have been used more effectively in the later episodes instead of the lap dancer.
  12. I think the Erica comparison worked better when Roya was playing Ava.. since she had the same essence/mannerism as Erica. However, Lisa Puleso's Ava was not anything like Erica at all... she seemed more like a modern day Scarlett O'hara then an Erica Kane clone.
  13. It all depends on how the women treat production backstage. It isn't the only factor..but if you have nothing going on in your life or bringing anything to group scenes...then it becomes important. I recall Bravo did a special on season 8 of OC... and as it turned out...Gretchen had nothing going on in her personal life, she kept making Tamra the heavy in their team up against Alexis, she also faked the proposal and was not too popular with production. In regards to Mia, Wendy, and Candiace... Candiace: Is giving in group and individual scenes...so she'll have to do something truly vile on social media to get the boot. I'm curious how production feels about her. Mia: She doesn't gel with the group and not sure about her individual scenes. She might be a dream to work with behind the scenes with production..who knows. Wendy: She has an interesting backstory and she does provide a nice contrast to the other women. However, she seems a little too high on herself and seems like she'd be a nightmare to production (and her condescending tone to the designer on Project Runway enhances my theory).
  14. SLC: Lisa seems to be on these women's minds. I guess season 4 will focus on Lisa vs Heather (the feud that should have been the linchpin of the show).
  15. My mom used to tell me that Emerald Point N.A.S is when she first noticed Sela Ward.. and became a fan of her in everything she did. She said the show was boring except for her.
  16. She's appealing and a little quirky.. just like Harry Anderson was. I do wish that Markie Post, Harry Anderson, etc were alive to make a visit
  17. I would welcome it. Although she's been friends with Rinna for years (Rinna even popped up on OC for a visit and seemed...gasp..human).
  18. Didn't Karen go to Bravo to get her fired? I wouldn't be able to forgive someone that did that. I'd be cordial, but never more then that.
  19. That scene of Val breaking down completely was so masterfully done. JVA could have gone OTT..but she was so subdued and matter of fact as she scrubbed off the 'Abby'paint and starting all over again verna. It's fascinating how planned out her shift into this new persona was and you could see the thought process play out in her eyes. I've always maintained Val's weak point wasnt Gary..but her need to mother. Losing the twins brought up the loss of Lucy and it caused her to go over the edge. It also explained her being a motherly figure to Annie Fairgate, Cricket, Olivia, Kate, and Lynette (waitress). To fulfill that need, to be there to help when no one was there to help her, and to be protective. It's why the Poor Jill scene later is so good because having a threat like Jill around her kids triggered her memories of being without them and she was bound to fight for them no matter what. It's sad how Val became the village idiot when she had such richness and complexity.
  20. Angie H coming in last week did provide some spark and even caused Lisa to 'disengage' in a way only Lisa can disengage lol I'm waiting to see how Angie K and Danna do in future episodes...but Angie H and hubby did provide some sparks. And Whitney doesn't seem to understand her actions affected hubby's job. Didn't that happen with Tamra's ex on OC back in season 4?
  21. From watching the episodes, I would have kept Poppy and written out Mitzi. Poppy seemed like she had more potential. And I know when the actress playing Poppy was on the Locher episode..she said she found one day that the voice she had used for Poppy would be fake..and had to figure out what Poppy's 'real voice' would be.
  22. And it explains why Raven had a dislike of Shelley Franklin in the final year of the show...because Geraldine took on the motherly role to Shelley
  23. If Kyle were smart, she'd examine why she is constantly at odds with both of her sisters while Kim and Kathy seem close more consistently. This scene from season 2( I think) showed how close Kim and Kathy were...and once Kyle showed up..it kinda went off the rail.
  24. Robyn is giving Wendy a lesson on how the other moms will treat unlikable Wendy once her kids get a little older. If a mom is unlikable, the other moms will exclude her from play groups or mommy gatherings...which will affect her kids.
