I can't watch the reruns, but does EH play Althea differently then she did as Lucinda? Meaning.. is Althea as OOTT as Lucinda was.. etc.

Well LFB caused the second half of season 2 to derail.. and the show frantically had to rewrite the planned Cooper/Audrey story.. quickly introduce a replacement character Annie, etc. I think Audrey being held hostage by Windom Earle in the Black Lodge would have had more impact then Annie did... I did read somewhere that Annie's backstory would have been explored had there been a season 3.. along with Audrey surviving the bomb blast.. and I think Leo wouldn't have survived his situation. Is it true that Sheryl Lee would have been a third character had there been a season 3?

What made Shelly so popular? On paper, you would think she was just a supporting character at most. Is it due to Amick's appeal?

Problem with Jersey this season was that it seemed like I was watching several different shows.. where none of the parts fit together. Dina's show was more the old format of housewives with her day to day life with her daughter, assitant, being a friend to teresa, etc. Theresa G. was trying to paint a picture of her and her hubby trying to soldier on.. but the problem was that she and hubby were at fault.. Bravo miscalculated this one.. and I don't understand how one could be surprised at the backlash. I'm not exactly sure what Melissa was trying to present.. except it was a weird hybrid of the old and new format of the housewife franchise.. that didn't exactly fit. The jersey twins and Amber were acting as if they were in a spoof of a bad Jersey show. To make matters worse, producers quickly inserted scenes of Jacqueline/Kathy/Rosie and it felt like a whole new show altogether. I admit I was annoyed at producers editing the second half of season 9 of the OC.. but at least they got 18 episodes (not including reunions/lost footage).. and there was a coherent story thread or two.. along with scenes of the housewives with family/friends. But after seeing the mess that was season 6 of Jersey... OC season 9 was flawless editing wise in comparison.

That's odd that Atlanta isn't doing new opening shots (except for Claudia.. I'm assuming)... while OC does a new one every season. I wonder why that is?

I always wondered if the Annie character that dropped in at the last minute might have worked if she wasn't the love interest of Cooper? I still believed had the show returned the next year that she would have been revealed as Norma's daughter, not sister.... hence all the hostility between Norma and her mother. Probably would have been the reason why Big Ed and her broke up back then. I do think Amick will be back... cable shows have a different filming schedule then shows on traditional broadcast tv so it is possible for her to come back. Also, I'd love a mix of new and old characters... it has been twenty five years so I could totally see new characters coming into focus. The only thing is that I hope the Palmer family doesn't dominate.. though I do think Laura Palmer's murder changed the town forever.. and those effects could be felt with the next generation.. but I don't want it to dominate since so much time has passed.

Yeah, she was a more refined Brandi...imho. She had a mouth on her, but she seemed more polished then Brandi ever did. She had a lot of connections cultivated during the season... she was friends with Kyle, former co worker of Mauricio, became friends with Brandi while also not getting along with Yolanda. Plus, I recall she had a cute brother.. and her mother seemed liked a time warp to the 1970s with her mary Tyler Moore hair And I wanted to know more about that marriage that she had with the indie producer. FOr me, she was added at the wrong era of the housewife franchise... both she and Joyce would have fit in well with the old style..imho Normally I wouldn't think Kim could be downgraded.. but they did downgrade Porsha.. so anything is possible. It just depends on who brings it... you need to have an interesting day to day life coupled with a fiesty personality with the ladies.

I think the trailer for season 9 of OC came out just after they returned from Bali.. or were still in Bali. Since BH is now on their big trip, I'm sure they will release the trailer shortly. I'm wondering if Bravo is holding out on a trailer till they decide who is main and who is just a 'friend'. Just like Atlanta waited till most of the season was filmed before releasing their trailer..(hence why Claudia Jordan became a housewife while Porsha and Dementia were just friends).

Apparently BH's big vacation will be Amsterdam which they have either on right now.. or will be going on shortly. My question is why would producers select this place knowing one of the housewives can barely stay sober. Guess they want conflict when I wish they would just let things happen naturally.. which would involve the women possibly acting like adults. Sometimes I really think Andy Cohen hates women.

NJ's problem was that instead of gradually adding new housewives in season 4 through 5.. it kept the same group from season 3 to 5. Even though viewers get tired of the same old, same old.. they are also resistant to sudden change. NY has struggled since their drastic retool.. and BH has struggled as well (why else are they supposedly bringing back Camille and Adrienne for visits). OC has done the best at handling constant cast turnovers so I have faith in season 10 that whoever they bring on will blend in. While Atlanta is the most popular of the franchise, for some reason.. it's my least favorite... Though i'll be intrigued to see Phaedra/Apollo's marriage issues, Kandi/Todd's marriage issues, etc. Just hate when they are forced to be together when you know they hate each other.

Out of all the former co hosts to bring back.. they bring back Rosie O?

Guess claudia bought it during filming while Porsha and the other new girl didn't. Will be interesting to see if Eileen and Lisa R will be full time or part time housewives when the trailer comes out.

I do agree about Tamra as I said before... and I think even though she was a little sloppy this season (i.e. under estimating Shannon, using Shannon to get back at Heather), she was still loads better at the villianess part then Heather could ever dream to be. I'm one of those that prefers a balance with some lovey dovey mixed in with real conflict. I think the OC and Atlanta have been smart with picking new housewives that are interesting people, plus can play off the other housewives. NY, NJ, and BH have struggled with that thus far.

The problem with firing Tamra is that you don't have a proper villiness to take over... Vicki is all over the map, Shannon is too quirky, and Lizzie is too bland... Heather would be the perfect choice xcept for the fact that unliek Tamra... Heather can't shift gears if an unexpected situation comes up. Hence why Tamra hasn't been taken down.. Shannon has been the closest imho. I don't want an athlete or athlete's wife on the show... how about hiring a normal housewife who isn't a famewhore.

I thought Jennifer the realtor was suppose to be a cast member, but the producers decided to bring back the same cast again after Hurricane sandy so she was dropped to friend of status.

Of course they would deny it being true.. they want to keep some things under wraps. Who do you guys think is the lesser evil.. Brandi or Tamra?

I'd rather the shows do away with the big housewife vacations.. and show them in their own lives.. or vacationing with friends that aren't HW's.. like the old days.

Kim vs Kenya= would've been epic...

OC turned out to have a pretty good season plus good reunion with little filler. You had drama plus fun moments.. plus the mystery of Danielle. The Secrets revealed episode was fun... I thought Lizzie's family dinner scene reminded me of how the show used to be... A peek into the lives of housewives. Had she been a cast member in season 1 through 5, that scene would have been included in the regular season.. not the lost footage scene. I'd taken out a scene of Tamra with Baby Astro from the season and put this scene in instead. Shannon and Vicki were trying to find treasure in Bali hence the tipped over Kayoke BAHAHA. Too much Brooks and not enough funny Vicki material.. though her trying to figure out how to sit in the restaurant in Bali was priceless. I guess I'll be putting crystals on my grocery list Bless Shannon and her serious dedication to all things holistic. She seems geniune while Heather and Terry... no words. Tamra/Eddie having dinner with Danielle/Joe... a double date? Guess Baby Astro killed the mood. I have a feeling there was some swinging going on with that foursome. Just a vibe I got.

Luann being so vile and toxic in season 4 was interesting... and I think the show firing all of her allies coming into season 5 was karma. Season 5 reunion was great with Luann basically being called out for her pot stirring and for Pirate Gate... plus, wasn't it during this time that Cat from RHODC really laid into Luann on WWHL? I think Luann was humbled a bit after all that, which is why she seemed more down to earth and less stuffy in season 6.

I think when Aviva bowed out of every cast trip and the backlash against her father... her days were numbered. I do think Sonja needs to go unless she lands a sugar daddy.. i can't see another season of Grey Gardens again with her. If they showed Heather with her family and at her company, plus showing Ramona moving forward as a single woman... I can see them coming back. Kristen, I'm on the fence about her.

Last season was too toxic so I can see the BH housewives doing 180 and becoming too nice with one another which is almost just as bad. I'd rather see the housewives on BH not interact with each other that much, whether the focus be on their individual day to day lives. Eileen alone should have enough material in her personal life to be interesting (rumour has it the housewife cameras have been backstage at Y & R), plus Lisa Rinna is interesting on her own (though her hubby in an interview indicating he wouldn't be appearing very much.. shame if true). Also, from watching the early seasons of OC.. I was surprised the kids had talking heads and storylines... so I think Kyle, Kim, and Yolanda's older kids should have talking heads and storylines as well.
