Thanks for the extra detail. I had just assumed she'd only served briefly as usually happens on soaps. From these bits it seems like they tried to integrate Travis into the core of the show in a way I didn't quite see by the early '80s. Speaking of Marcia, someone in the comments for one of the videos mentioned that she and Mary were close. If true that was nice to know. Marcia is such a unique presence. I'm sorry she never replicated her success at Search but at least she got 8 years as Sunny.

This is such a lovely set of scenes, summarizing Jo's life in Henderson through the campaign ad (also a way to showcase her life to new viewers), seeing her friends praise her in the ad. Then showing them reacting to her ad, Jo reacting to her ad. Stephanie making annoyed faces and little digs, which is so realistic for what you do when someone you can't stand is being feted. And I suppose this is also tied to the impending end of her marriage. Seeing little Suzi praising Jo reminds me of how in Jo's final story, when she was kidnapped by Ann Flood, she flashed back to an emotional scene she'd had with Suzi. I still don't know why they thought they needed to kill Suzi off. I was going through some of that kidnapping story and it's much more violent than I had expected - Ann pushing Stu down scaffolding, Jo punching Ann and holding her at gunpoint, Ann jumping off scaffolding, Jo getting knocked out, etc. They played it well, but who was asking to see Jo and Stu in a Charles Bronson movie? This is another gorgeous scene. Jo and Stu truly had one of the best friendships ever on soaps. And the scene is over 6 minutes long! What a lost world. I wish this channel had shared more content.

I blame most on those on bad casting and writing choices. Ben being killed off was just sickness and depravity that ConWest couldn't get enough of. Marah and Shayne I think were hurt by the actors they chose to play them in the '00s, aside from Jeff Branson (by which point the show was ending). Marina was treated as the new generation but she was still ill-used after Aubrey Dollar left. Lizzie did eventually find her way, and I suppose Bill did too. I think the biggest mistakes were probably made with how they fumbled teen legacy characters in the '80s and '90s. In terms of certain somebodies, I think Jonathan hurt Marah and Shayne more than anyone else did.

I'd argue there was some familiarity with Doris, as she'd been on the show since the late '90s, but I agree most of the new characters weren't necessary compared to legacy characters.

I don't think it affected his later career. He re-invented himself with that show and his persona on it.

Paulie should never be that hot. Jeff Eagle passed away in November 2025. He had parts on DAYS and Dynasty. I wasn't sure if you knew or not for any files you have as he wasn't exactly a big name in the mainstream - I saw it mentioned on Rialto Report as he was a '70s porn stalwart under the name Jeffrey Hurst. They also had a number of nice headshots of him. That site is NSFW so if you don't want to go there and ever need any I think several are also available through Google image search.

Political stories on soaps often go haywire with so many errors and nonsensical details like gun battles and international cartels. I wish they'd done more with Jo's political career. I think there was a genuine surge in interest in Suits. It was high on the charts for a while and the two male leads did some ads (I think a cell phone company). That may have just been down to the strike, but there was some support. If they were going to bring the show back they probably should have had some of the original cast pop up for more than a cameo. Beyond that, I did see a number of people blame Amell's character (along with the writing) as they felt the character and performance were both poor.

Seems like it's someone every day lately. I know he had a long life and some big comebacks but still I feel sad. "Laughter in the Rain" is one of those songs I listen to sometimes to get in a mellow mood. "Love Will Keep Us Together" is also one of the best pop songs. Thanks for the link @wonderwoman1951 Rob Grant has also passed. He co-created Red Dwarf, among other things. The early seasons of Red Dwarf were so good. The stories about RKK on DAYS go back a long way, along with claims that Rinna and Kristian got him fired (Rinna was about to leave so I'd guess Kristian was the main force - she has never been anybody you [!@#$%^&*] with).

There are so many I wish could have been on a soap so I understand that. I know Doug Hutchison was praised highly for his work, but like Pelphrey I just thought he was very hammy (worse than Pelphrey). I do wonder what may have been if they'd culled some of the people who were just there because they were cheap and hired some stronger talent. This is another reason why soaps being an hour long and needing to fill so much time hurts them.

Yes...drug dealing, stalking Alex. It's a sign of how far gone morally GL was that she was still there to the end. Marj did her best, I guess, and I did like some of her work near GL's close. I love Joan Collins, but they should have known she wasn't going to raise the ratings. FOX had already tried that with Pacific Palisades.
