DAYS: September 2025 Discussion Thread
I will say, when it comes to bad actors on DAYS, we at least always get ones that can still entertain. They're rarely beyond boring like a Ryan Paevey. From Charity Rahmer to Rachel Boyd, we just get the best of the worst in Salem!

So happy that we finally got confirmation that Jeremy Horton is coming back to Salem! Julie was vague about what job he obtained, so it should be interesting to see where they're going to put him. I've only ever read the name Selejko, so when Abe pronounced it as Seleco I had no idea the potential reference he could be intimating. That certainly makes things more exciting if they're harking back to them, but wonderfully random all the same. I could see TPTB getting Liam with Holly now that her and Tate are at odds again. Most importantly, the most significant character connected to the Selejko's was Melissa, so if this means she's finally coming back to Salem where she belongs I'll happily take it. Sophia is at least entertaining amidst Rachel Boyd's "out of this world" performances. I think if the baby happened to pass away, Sophia would truly go over the deep end. Plus, I don't want Tate or Johnny/Chanel to get him.

It's hilarious it's all to sell shoes, but I'm not complaining.

DAYS: September 2025 Discussion Thread
Even though they don't have much history together, it was still nice to see Tony have a scene with someone who debuted before this last decade. Plus, his scenes with Maggie made him feel more human, with no traces of wondering if Andre still lurks beneath. Maggie herself was used wonderfully, being the true head of the Kiriakis family, no matter how weird that will always sound to me. Though I did find it funny when I remembered that technically Alex has actually been a part of the Kiriakis family longer than all of them. I hope Mark is coming back to Salem. I could see EJ hiring him for the free clinic and when whatever EJ is actually planning comes out, he'll use Mark as his fall guy. You just know the gala is going to be budget city, but since we know some Hortons are returning for it, I'm not going to care. Bring it on!

Okay, but imagine if they had Tracy react to Sonny/Carly, like Alexis did at Kristina's funeral. Might be worth it.

I think Ken Corday probably just has stock in post-it notes.

ABC pulls “Jimmy Kimmel Live” from air indefinitely following host's Charlie Kirk comments
The only thing that talks in this world is money. I'm happy people came together and made a difference the only way they could. Can't wait to see Jimmy Kimmel's returning monologue.

That punch Holly threw Tate's way was a shock for me, especially the fact that it was actually well-directed and looked like it hurt. Holly was channeling her inner Emma Roberts. Sophia really did look and act like much more of an outright bad-girl today. I kind of loved when she blatantly told Johnny his actions basically ruined her life. No minced words there. Of course, Rachel Boyd gave her typical hilarious performance. What an interesting find she is. I also laughed when Brady was advising Tate and threw in a "would it kill you to focus on your studies" line. It seemed too real for this show, but little things like that are appreciated. Brady and Rafe's scene was a good beat to play. I don't know if it's because they both started at the same time, but I felt a strong connection between them. It felt almost nostalgic from their era of the show. Marlena stated she was beginning to feel better. Does this mean her "illness" storyline is over? Marissa Reyes did good supporting work today and looked great sporting a different hair-style. The show has done a good job at taking their time building her up. I have faith she'll be quite good when they give her more to do, presumably with this internship and my speculation about her and Theo. I will say, I was disappointed to not get follow up about the man showing up to Steph and Alex's door. I need to know if we really do have another Horton in our midst. Plus, only knowing about the upcoming blackout from the promo title (can't watch to remain as spoiler-free as possible), I wrongly assumed it would start today, too.

This is why, after about 2003 or so, you have to pick and choose what's canon for your own sanity.

I thought Tyler Joseph Andrews more than sold Theo's complex emotions towards JJ today. They were the best scenes of the episode for me and made Theo one to watch. Fantastic find by the casting director. JJ also getting that intense moment with Gabi makes me hope that 1) we will see him more frequently and 2) that him and Gabi are still not done, especially with Gabi's longing look towards him as JJ walked away from her. Also, shamelessly happy everytime we get a crotch shot of his badge in whatever tight jeans he's usually wearing. Tony wanting Titan too made me annoyed. Let's not become boring Y&R with all these company merry-go-round dramas, please. Does anyone remember when exactly Basic Black started? Was it under Cwikly's previous run? I do remember finding it completely laughable that Kirsten Storms' Belle wanted to be a fashion designer, because she was as fashionable as a glass of water. And then it all resulted in Bo and Hope being attacked at the Basic Black fashion show? They were Belle's designs right? And then all that chaos started off the infamous Salem Serial Killer plot. You'd think that would've been the end of the company then and there. I guess we'll have to find out Monday if that was Michael Roark at Stephanie and Alex's door. If so, I'll be so disappointed if he isn't Jeremy Horton, especially with it confirmed that

I think Rachel Boyd is absolutely the worst, but she's objectively bad, whereas I think my distaste for Abigail Klein as an actress is my own thing, though I think everyone can agree she's really nothing special, but that's a big issue with soap castings nowadays. Anyway, I've stated by opinion so I won't go on about it, but just know whenever she is on-screen, I am not liking it. 🤣

DAYS: September 2025 Discussion Thread
I like the new Theo so far. I think his scenes with Chad had a subtle nod to his autism, and was happy they had a good reunion scene. But here's me thinking poor Jonah when it comes to the running of his favourite uncle. There was talk of who Arianna might be paired with and with her move to Titan, it's probable to me that her and Theo will be cross paths. An obvious obstacle already potentially on the cards will be all the Titan/DiMera business drama, especially when Theo becomes CEO (speculation, but come on!), and probably fired from Titan for her disloyalty. I did hate that the second Kate left, Tony appeared without them crossing paths. We desperately need to see him in scenes with people that debuted on the show prior to this millenium, please and thank you. I legit lol'ed with Gabi's line to Tony today: Do you know how hard it is to follow someone that walks as fast as you do in stilettos? Hilarious. I still can't stand Abigail Klein as an actress. I literally hate the way she speaks and exists. It's so ... rigid and monotonous. I was rooting for Alex to chew Stephanie out just for some excitement, but also because RSW excels best when he's playing an ass.

That's because he had Sheri Anderson to help keep him in line at the beginning of his tenure. Once she left, the craziness really set in.

I'm not a couple shipper by any means, but when I was watching during Mulcahey's all too brief stint, I though Jason and Elizabeth still had tons of chemistry, and if it was up to me, I would have put them together, and then brought Lucky back and dealt with all the drama and complications that could unfold both within the triangle and the children. But that's all moot now.

Top 10 (Best/Worst): Soap Opera Edition
For those that want to rank characters/actors on their shows, without clogging up the main discussion thread. I'll start with my best and worst for Beyond the Gates ... Best Eva Bill Nicole Anita Kat Shanice Vanessa Leslie - As entertaining as she is I wish she were more threatening and less of a nuisance. More of a proper villainess. Jacob Vernon Worst Tomas Ashley Samantha Derek Martin Hayley - I don't dislike her, she's just not much of a character. Indifferent.

You're being extremely modest. He was absolutely abysmal. He sounded like a whimpering dog, and he needs to practice crying in a mirror or videotaping himself, because that squinty face he kept making made the scenes cringe and embarrassing to watch. At least Rachel Boyd, the alien from another planet, can do dramatics. Better than him anyway.
