  1. Lisa Rinna definitely felt the backlash last season. Dumping a long term friend like she did Denise was shameful. I remember her even posting on Instagram that it’s the fans fault for how she acted because they want drama on the show....Ummm no. Fans want you to be yourself and be entertaining. The drama will come naturally. If she truly valued her friendship with Denise she wouldn’t have acted like that. I fully expect her to be in damage control mode this season.
  2. Oh I'd forgotten about that! It's so funny you mention that, because on The Locher Room they did an Agnes Nixon tribute a week or so ago and Debbi Morgan told a story about how severe the backlash was for Cliff & Angie and she started preparing herself to get fired due to the backlash and to her surprise they fired Bergman instead lol. He thought he had enough clout to complain about stuff like that but he didn't, at least at AMC.
  3. I am not so sure! I feel like this is going to be a breakout season for Sutton. From what insiders have said she was 100% meant to be a Friend again, but she dominates the season so much (even moreso than some vets) that they had to promote her. I think fans will take to her with the Erika stuff because as time goes on we find more evidence that Erika knew of Tom's crimes. That's going to play in Sutton's favor. I also am not so sure the Crystal/Sutton feud is as bad as we think considering Crystal was liking Sutton's stuff on Instagram today. I know a big part of their feud is that Crystal is upset with Sutton being friends with Dolce & Gabbana, who Crystal feels is racist against Asians. As for Erika, I'm just going to hope against hope that Erika/Rinna don't win in making Erika the victim. I feel like they showed almost nothing in the trailer so this season could go so many different directions. They literally gave us a little tease. I do think it has more potential than last season though. The Denise stuff was SO dark and homophobic. The Erika stuff at least ties into Erika's history on the show, not only with Tom, but with her business and excess on the show. This story could have legs.
  4. @Paul Raven @FrenchBug82 Oh I absolutely do think racism plays a part in Peter Bergman's ongoing hatred for the Keemo story. I mean we already know how quickly he dismissed Victoria Rowell as crazy for mentioning racial disparities and he talks about the Keemo story like it is the most awful thing that has ever appeared on Y&R. They had this man playing a Spanish drug lord who ended up raping his wife, but Keemo is the worst thing and the only thing you mention that can NEVER be brought up? Give me a break. Even if he thought that initial storyline was bad, what harm would it do to bring back his son who he canon? To me it can't be anything but racism. Maybe he doesn't feel like an Asian man could have the strength he would want for Jack's son. I'm not sure the exact motivations, but I think it is disgusting that they allow him to do this. Peter Bergman is almost 70 and they're still pairing Jack with 20 year old women. He needs to be transitioned into a Patriarch. Pair him off with Jill and let them head the Abbott family. Bringing on Keemo would give a viable Abbott who could run Jabot. Keemo could bring a wife and kids with him. This would allow Kyle (and Summer) to be written as their age and not stuck in business stories that are out of their depth right now. Give them friends, romantic entanglements, kids, etc. and things that fit their young age. Let Keemo (and Jack) take on the Jabot storylines. Plus Keemo also has a sister out there who isn't related to anybody and could be useful.
  5. Dramatically I hope that either Claire or John killed Charlie. I'd love for Sami to secretly know it's one of them and be protecting them. The tension that would cause with Belle and Marlena and the extended family would be nice, considering they are so quick to judge Sami when she does something wrong. Especially if it's Claire, I'd love to see where it takes Belle and Sami's relationship.
  6. I'm honestly impressed with Peacock. They have a lot of content and their original shows (including the ones from overseas they acquired) read like an elevated NBC experience, as it should. They have a good diversity of content and the upcoming stuff is hopefully going to bring them more attention. I know they have this, The Best Man tv series and three Housewives series coming. I hope it all works out for them because this could be a new successful hub for diverse content.
  7. Bringing Adam back was the worst thing the show could’ve done. The best thing SSM did was refuse the shows request to bring that tired character back.
  8. That trailer is wasnt as excited as New York, but it did enough for me to tune in. I will say my favorite moments were all the Sutton and Kathy revealing to Kyle that Kim changed her number and didn’t tell her lol.
  9. This I don’t believe. Just because Bravo is filming a show there doesn’t mean it’s Housewives and I kinda hope it isn’t. Also, re: Johannesburg, I believe Brinette that there is more to the story and also I do think after time to cool off and investigate, the show will continue. Christal has a history and I can’t believe her version of events without knowing the full picture. To date she’s the only one who has been physical with anybody so I don’t doubt she somehow caused it. In regards to the RHOM news, I refuse to accept it until it’s announced! I can’t imagine that show without Gina. She is their Teresa.
  10. I feel like I would’ve been more invested had Uk not aired at the same time and been such a joyous show. They need to take a page out of the BBC and do a more genuine season that isn’t driven by shocks and producer manipulation to keep it interesting.
  11. I think this might be my least favorite season ever. It is too long, the cast doesn't have chemistry, the judging choices (keeping Kandy) are contrived. I cannot wait for this to be over! I can't believe we still have I think two weeks. I'm beyond ready for the next All Stars.
  12. From the Agnes Nixon tribute at The Lochee Room, her son seemed like he was disappointed the news was released so early. He was very vague, but made it sound like it was still in the early stages. At this point I’m not expecting it for this upcoming season.
  13. Having just watched the first year, you can definitely tell it was thrown together last minute with no plans. Literally months went by and barely anything was happening. It’s a shame Labine never got another shot at creating a soap. Also, thank you all for the deets on what happened with Kevin and Lucy. I did see the PC reunion story which I thought was so terrible that I stopped watching. Explains how I missed their big breakup lol. The Serena thing is so odd though considering Scott exists and they seem to like him having kids on the canvas. Sasha also looks so much like Lynn Herring and her character would probably be better received if she was Christina and had that core connection. That would’ve been as organic as it gets.
  14. I have a random question to more regular viewers than me. I really only started watching full time again in late 2019. My question is, as a PC fan first I’d seen all the arc years and am currently going back to watch from the beginning. From what I’ve seen based on PC, Kevin and Lucy are a major couple and at least for that soap a super couple. Considering they got a spin off I imagine it was the same on GH. My question is, do they ever acknowledge their closeness on GH? I can’t say I recall much of anything. It’s so odd as a PC fan seeing them so close and now Lucy is largely irrelevant and her history with Scott and Kevin seems so unimportant. It’s so weird seeing Kevin with Laura, a totally boring pairing IMO.
  15. Mariah was such a promising character early on and they've reduced her to a talk to and Devon was so hurt after losing his child with Hillary that it's equally baffling to use him of all people as the father. I get they had to quickly write out Chance, but this is such a bizarre story and I can't believe it got greenlit. I expected them to maybe get a surrogate, but a surrogate AND a sperm donor and both are the most offensive choices possible. Just crazy.
  16. Seeing those ratings are interesting. I never knew GL suffered so much. No wonder they went to such lengths to get Kim Zimmer back. The one thing that is disappointing to see is that AW 100% could've survived if they had improved the quality of the show. DAYS was on the same network and if you look at their ratings, they shot up. If they could do it, AW could've done it. Unfortunately, the show had no vision from what I've heard of their 90s (I've only seen episodes from 70s-80s). I think had they agreed to give Harding Lemay a good two years in the early-mid 90s and just let him write, he could've not only fixed the show, but created stories with enough buzz to boost their ratings in the same way Jim Reilly did at DAYS.
  17. Y&R’s Twitter posted congratulating Abby on her pregnancy and the replies were so negative they deleted the tweet lol. I’ve never seen them do that.
  18. I recently decided to watch this from the beginning. I’d seen the arcs and years ago bought the premiere episodes through October. Now I’m midway through November which is my second month thats new to me. After a sluggish start I noticed things started actually moving and the storylines were changing so I checked the credits and it looks like Lynn Latham has taken over. From re-reading this thread I know her tenure wasn’t well received so I’m curious how this will all play out.
  19. She has a video on YouTube about an hour long where she discusses her work on soaps in great detail. It’s a fun listen because she’s such a character. Also, she names names which is rare.
  20. I’ll DM you! Idk if my links still work but I have links for both seasons. Also, Real Housewives of Durban, all episodes are in Daily Motion in great quality.
  21. I hope they just take a break to reevaluate because that show is too good to cancel! Especially over racist Christall.
  22. I didn’t watch Real Housewives of Durban until now because the promos looked terrible, but two episodes in it actually really interesting. The production values are finally on par with the other series and the cast is good. They seem very wealthy and this show is very different from Johannesburg so I can see the value in both existing. This cast also seems to have good chemistry. The most interesting thing story wise is that one housewife had this rich and famous husband that died. Well come to find out at a dinner party, one of the other HWs is the mother of the dead husbands daughter! The new wife knew about the daughter but had never met the mother so it was a true HWs shock seeing them discover each other.
  23. There was an episode of OLTL written under a psyudonym that many believed was her. I believe the name was Veronica Sandbridge. According to her (IIRC), she wrote for Days first and was fired when her background was reported in the press. Then I’m not sure the order, but she had a deal with Televest and worked on GL/ATWT as a consultant and Y&R she ghost wrote for the black storyline when LML was HW. She takes credit for the writing around when Carmen was there which VR didn’t like because she found it stereotypical but they made up a while back. Personally I loved the writing around that type. I loved that they were equal in importance (and screentime!!) to the white characters and I felt like the Barber-Winters were fully integrated in the show. I strongly believe that had VR not quit, LML could’ve lasted longer because those characters were such a ratings draw for them. They were getting over 6 million viewers, then when VR left the ratings plummeted and then after the writers strike of course we know LML wasn’t invited back.
  24. Honestly, I don’t think it would be a bad idea to do a Summer House/Real World style spin off with the kids. It might bring them some younger viewers.
  25. I was happy to read that Victoria Rowell’s show is moving to BET+! That’s a much bigger platform and the biggest issue was a lack of budget when it was on UMC. Hopefully this leads to bigger things for her. It’s also nice to have her back at Viacom considering she spent about a decade being blacklisted. It’s so nice to see all her hard work fighting for representation finally paying off for her.
