SID inititally reported that close sources were telling them that "Pratt is History..." Minutes later, it's official:

SOD ONLINE
Charles Pratt, Jr., whose controversial reign as head writer of ALL MY CHILDREN began in June 2008, has been released from the position. ABC confirms the ouster, but had no further comment. Stay tuned for more details of who will usher the citizens of Pine Valley through their cross-country move in January!

If the plan is to cancel AMC, ABC would not have fired Pratt. The ratings must be bad.

The demos weren't good, especially when OLTL and GH were getting much better demos.

Don't be surprised if they hire her.

She's good at executing orders.

I'm pleasantly surprised. I wonder what happened. This is very good news. With the right HW and the move making it possible to shed dead weight, AMC could have a DAYS-like renaissance.

Oh, marceline, you should know better. Don't start these insane threads of insane optimism just yet. You know how it suffocated the message board. Don't encourage the madness.

Wait. Wait until the replacement has been sworn in.

With ATWT just about cancelled the fight is on to be the lowest rated soap.

If they hired Kay ALden I'd be pleasently surprised. So I suspect they'll hire JP.

Yup. Which is what I'm saying.

Or an equivalent.

With AMC being in LA, Fronzie is just right down the street so he can micromanage them too.

Great news that Pratt has been hacked. :)

I didn't even think of JP...oh my god...that might actually be worse then Megan, who is my other thought as what Frons would consider a good hire. Ugh.

Lets just be happy Pratt is gone, and wait for the [!@#$%^&*] to hit the fan with the news of the new HW.

And Kay Alden would be a GOD SEND!

I hope this doesn't mean the end of "Turbo" and Annie. :(

Why does good 2-part news like this always happen on Fridays? Now we have to wait until Monday to see who the replacement is...if we even learn that soon.

We can hope. The roots are still there, if someone gets Frons out of the way.

It just sucks there's so little of AMC's core has left. But they can still bring in a few tentpole characters. If only Frons hadn't gutted so many of them.

Makes me wonder if Jamie Luner's Liza is safe now since Pratt wet himself over her. And weren't there rumors of cast discontent about her - or was that just Pratt and his "high school" comments crap?

Not that JL should be blamed for Pratt being an ass, but if she did have favored status due to his history with her, it just makes me wonder if that will change.
