Actress Tudi Wiggins died July 19th. Tudi Wiggins died at a hospital in Gouverneur NY, near her home in Fowler in Saint Lawrence County. She had been ill from cancer.

She was was best known to soap viewers as evil serial killer Erica Desmond, in the Dark Shadows-esq cult hit Strange Paradise; as well as Meg Dale in Love of Life's final six years. She also played Karen Martin on Guiding Light from 71-72, and Sarah Kingsley on All My Children from 80-82.

After her career on soaps she had a talk show on local TV in the New York area for a few years, before retiring from the entertainment business and becoming a personal care worker.

:( That's so sad. I loved her so much as Erica Desmond on SP - she was critical to she show's most memorable storyline, in which she murdered all but four of the show's characters. She was such a great actress, its truely a great loss.

When I saw the heading and I saw LOL and GL I thought "Oh no! Audrey Peters died!" ... then I forgot Tudi had been on GL. What a loss for daytime. She was great.

This is really sad. I never had the opportunity to watch Tudi on screen ever, but I have *always* been intrigued by 70s "Love of Life" with Tudi as Meg. No matter how bad people say it was, I've always wanted to see it.

I loved her as Meg. She had great on-screen chemistry with Christopher Reeve and Audrey Peters.

70's Love of Life as written by Claire Labine and Paul Avila Mayer, which is when she basically came on the show was some of the best soap viewing,IMO!

Sorry to hear of her passing!

Meg! Oh, my dear Meg! One of the greatest bitch-divas ever. Wiggins was, IMO, a true soap opera find. I wished she'd done more work later on that I could've seen.

Ditto what Matt said ... better than I could have said it!
