Yeah, I just heard the news of all of Liz's kids are gone. And honestly, I am seeing red.

I'm also surprised they haven't been laying the groundwork for BLQ to snag a rebound boyfriend. Hudson would be an obvious choice, if only because they could show him having an ulterior motive as he woos BLQ.

tbf, they already laid out the groundwork for both of those with all the scenes with him and BLQ alone and the scene of him beating the crap out of NotEthan to show he has a dark side on top of that. Their writing just leaves a lot to be desired. Not helped by them trying to have wacka wacka humor between Hudson and Joss so people will forget that last point.

Ooof. Today was super rough. I can't say there was a single thing happening that I cared about plus we got a bonus Britt/fakeJerry love scene.

Someone in the youtube comments said they were surprised the Producers didn't make him shave his back.

Yeah. Out of nowhere

I didn't even know he was back in PC; I thought he was still with Lucky 😂

He came back months ago (around the time of the Luke Spencer tribute episode waaaaay back in February) but I'm pretty sure he has not appeared onscreen once since coming back!

It has become clear those kids were there for story for everyone but Liz. Looking back now, without Franco or Joss for her kids to revolve around they just don’t care about them at all. Because they don’t care about Becky. And by everything I have seen or heard, she’s not the problem.

She shows up, does her job, and goes home, doesn’t argue with them on story or what plot driven nonsense they do with Liz. It’s been that way all the way back to her early years. Allegedly the only problem she has is when they took cuts over the years she/her agent made sure the cuts were in line with other vets with her kind of tenure, and that was not what Valentini wanted.

Finally caught up on the week...

What was that whole Molly leaving tease for two days? Were they prepping us for an eventual exit or was that just a way to give Molly/Cody airtime? Does she want to be a lawyer or a full-time romance novelist? Like you can't really do both at the same time, so they need to figure that out.

I guess this is a redemption for Britt? I'll go with it, but they better be consistent. New guy must really be good in the sack - her reaction made me think Jason got boring haha.

I'm glad Trina hasn't let it go that Kai and Quinn's plan was awfully dumb.

Monet still has her arm out all the time and I find that so funny for some reason.

The BLQ/Chase stuff - eh... so the plane just happened to have 2 seats available in first class right next to each other? That's not how that works, but whatever. That's a long ass flight from NY to the islands sitting next to each other to sign some paperwork. Officer/Detective Chase sure looked like a scared puppy that entire time with the lawyers haha.

Oh and Michael/Jordan have zero romantic chemistry for me - they need to just drop it. Liz and Dante could work, still TBD.

Many others already said this but the show really has screwed up with Brook Lynn and Chase. I can only assume there were heavier plans which they got frightened about, but they went too far with Willow and Chase to back out. They've already heavily damaged this marriage in a way the dishonesty in the writing makes it almost impossible to recover from.

Chase and Brook Lynn continue to suffer from the same problem they always have: The writers/Frank/whoever are afraid to make them messy. Even their own boring divorce is about what their lawyers want. BLQ/Chase are written as too damn noble. There has never been enough chemistry or drama between them to really care about them as a tentpole couple the show wants them to be.

It's always gone back to this. And to the fact that apparently FV sees them or rather BLQ/Setton, like Eden as Joss, as a tentpole heroine who must be kept elevated above the fray, with BLQ keeping a Prince Charming. Even now they're waffling. It's so ridiculous, because while I think Amanda Setton is still a strong actress the Chases have never been even a fraction as popular as GH's heavyweight couples in the last 30 years, let alone the last 40. (I'd even argue most of the last 20.)

It's on this kind of stuff I can only blame the writing team so much (and I blame them for a lot lol). No soap writing team with experience wants to play these kind of hands-off games with a married couple, or elevate Joss into multiple ridiculous jobs for years. The position I suspect they're in with this stuff reminds me of Megan McTavish complaining about having to write Kale Browne into OLTL scripts for JFP decades after the fact.

I agree, we can only blame the writers for so much when we know this is a very EP controlled show. I think it’s because of the writers that for a period of time in the Drew/Willow story the show was fun to watch, even if it wasn’t great. I think that breakneck pacing was where those writers and Valentini’s style connected fully.

They are so risk averse with characters, especially as mentioned with BLQ and Joss. Laura, as far as public attention and ratings, was possibly the greatest soap opera ingenue of all time. She killed David Hamilton, let her mother go to jail for it, married Scotty too young, left him to go on the run with a man that raped her, then broke his heart when she panicked under media attention and denied they were in love. She made a lot of big mistakes as the young lead. Compare this to Joss.

Now I am not advocating for Joss or BLQ to take part in reductive storytelling or something that shouldn’t be done now and wasn’t appropriate then either. But it didn’t hurt Laura or the show’s popularity to let her be a mess. It actually contributed to saving the show.

Even writer favorites of the past, like Guza with Brenda and Carly/Sonny/Jason, didn’t stop them from making major mistakes as characters.

I keep coming back to BLQ and that accident. She should have been driving drunk and caused the accident. The only person who was allowed to do something with actual stakes was Curtis breaking Isaiah’s hand, and even that has been written almost from the beginning as if we should be more on Curtis’ side than Isaiah’s!

Chase was so strident about Willow, the entire thing should have been used differently. They should have slept together before they knew Drew could walk and speak again, and he should have seen it and used it to back them into a corner. And after turning the screws for enough time, do the crash reveal and Chase feeling vindicated/less guilty because BLQ lied to him again, then you drop the bomb on Chase that Willow was the shooter and drugged Drew for months. Now watch Chase really come apart.

All the storytelling waves should not crash at once. They should also be used to keep generating waves to have multiple payoffs. It used to be this way! I just don’t understand why people that worked on soaps when they did this like Korte and Valentini can’t see it anymore.

Wonder what the curve ball will be with Joe/Lucas?

Joe is straight and dates women? Joe has never discussed his preference out loud.

Lucas assumes Joe is straight when he takes a woman out but is not leading to comedy Hijinx? Joe might be bisexual?

Joe is in the closet?

Joe already has a boyfriend/husband/wife?

I will take the over/under on Joe being previously or somehow still married to someone from AMC or OLTL. Just assume you can hear my Chewbacca-esque howl of anguish from afar if that happens.

I hope it's not going to be one of those storylines where Joe is a mentally disturbed cop and starts abusing Lucas after they enter into a relationship. Lucas making excuses for him and Joe making threats nobody will believe him.

Other horrible scenarios:

They have sex and Joe doesn't not know how to handle it because he is closeted.

Things progress too fast and Joe forces himself on Lucas. Lucas deals with the shame.

I hope they keep things positive with this storyline, but GH has a track record of going off the rails for shock value.

Any of this would be shocking on Frank Valentini’s GH. This is like what Hollyoaks does to its queer characters. If anything they will be low b or c level stories until a budget needs to be cut and then goodbye Joe.

Shocking no one, the fratboy playing Hudson had a new role created for him because this is the Frank Valentini policy with all white people who enter Prospect Studios.

So does Frank go to the writers and demand a new character be created?

Then they have to rearrange plots to fit him in?

Doesn't seem like the best way to run things. It's different if a day player or short term role pops , as has happened many times, but to shoehorn someone into a large cast , especially an actor that doesn't seem that special...

The only way a Chase/ Willow revisit would be palatable is if she is now homicidal and would be willing to permanently silence his self righteous ass once he finds out all her secrets. Otherwise, why bother? Chase/ Willow were so boring back in the day.

Chase came off looking so emasculated back when Willow was cheating on him while he was dying. That he's forgotten all that now is so stupid and really bad writing.

Chase's involvement with Brook Lynn saved the character. If the writers are ending that, they should end Chase too. Just end the stupidity and the stupid characters.
