Finally! The show cast someone well with this new Jerry Jax who looks like the 1990s actor and is actually hot. I'm glad Britt landed with him and is hopefully onto a new fun story. That was the only decent part of the show...everything else was dull as dirt. They really need the Drew/Willow/Michael entanglement stuff back. Actually soapy fun!

  • Do they really have to make Joss the female lead on this show? If so, they couldn't have found a stronger actor? It sucks seeing her get material better suited to stronger characters and actors.

  • Thought I'd go ahead and put this in here since it's not spoiler material. Sue me! There's a few good bits of insight but this is all a bit rich since they a) never mention Patrick Mulcahey's role in

Isn’t Jerry Jacks supposed to be well into his sixties at this point? Maybe it’s a heretofore unknown Jacks brother.

Ok wait, where does Valentin live? Maybe I'm misremembering, but wasn't he and Charlotte preparing to live in Wyndemere after Sidwell was arrested? His place today just looks like another variation of Lulu, Alexis or Willow's house.

Speaking of, happy to finally see Alexis again. She's been MIA lately.

Ooof. Today was super rough. I can't say there was a single thing happening that I cared about plus we got a bonus Britt/fakeJerry love scene.

One of Sonny’s biggest supporters, Bob Guza himself would approve of Joss being a Sonny antagonist! It’s the only thing about her I like!

Same for me. I know not popular, but I don't mind her being a WSB agent.

Glad you said it. I FF'ed through everything except scenes with Monet.

I'm curious as to what they have planned for her.

Ok nevermind, they answered the Wyndemere question in the last half - it's up for sale and we have a surprise buyer, similar to the piers. Surely not Joss?? Maybe Jude.

Speaking of Jude, I thought the Jude/Britt love scenes were pretty hot, but I'm surprised they didn't make Jude shave his back.

I'm still warming up to Monet. The way she holds her purse and sticks out her arm makes me laugh. She's like the bullish lawyer I wish Naomi would be on BTG.

It's not bad, but it's just boring to me.

It's really a struggle to get through episodes like today's. I had a hard time caring about any of it.

Britt isn't working, so what do they do? Give her more to do and a new sex buddy.

Monet is heading towards 5x a week in appearances. Talk about overload for any character, let alone someone who's an ambulance chaser.

Wake me up when the fog clears.

I think for a lot of us, even if we had complaints day to day, the show had been on a real winning streak for a while after a couple of years of things not working fully.

I thought this show was going to be stuck with Kelly Monaco, Michael Easton, and Roger Howarth until it was cancelled. Chad Duel was just clearly not interested in being there anymore. Willow was so uninteresting we were all hoping she was faking her cancer. Drew as a generic good guy paired with Carly wasn’t working. Patrick Mulcahey set so much in motion that just revitalized the show.

I watched every episode from the time Drew and Willow started their affair until recently. I haven’t done that consistently for this long since Vanessa Marcil left again in 2002. Now I am back to checking in and doing a lot of FF, but it’s so frustrating I would rather spend my time elsewhere.

The fact that the same EP, and writing team allowed this collapse is not good.

I wouldn't call it a winning streak because so much of the show was still mediocre or a mess of bad choices, but the show was very charged up again by a few key choices made in 2024 and 2025 (the Drew/Willow affair, recasting Michael, Emma and Gio, etc).

The problem is that FV's priorities and favorites as well as those of his creative team clearly don't correspond with what did really sing on the show, so we got a lot of dross dragging all that potential down. And then we have the last few months where they upended everything and have fallen back on Frank's old standby of 'hire a bunch of white guys/new people.' The Sidwell/Cullum/Britt/Cassius, etc. saga was incredibly boring to me and should've ended well before it did, but today's canvas is potentially worse on many levels. I too went from watching regularly (with a few breaks between the Michael recast) from '24 on to dropping the show again in August. I keep tabs and dip in and out, but a lot of it is very lame.

I guess I should quantify that with it was a winning streak for them. It was the best run by Valentini across most of the show that consistently for me since Robin’s return at the Sabrina/Patrick wedding during Carlivati.

I realized recently I was so turned off I didn’t see most of Rebecca Budig’s runs, or most of kid Spencer. So he lost me more than even JFP did for a handful of years there. I maybe saw two episodes with Budig’s character, and maybe 10 episodes total with kid Spencer.

Until portions of 2023 (with Sprina and the anniversary) and then '24 I hadn't watched regularly for months on end since Carlivati's exit in 2015 tbqh. The show swiftly became an embarrassing debacle in the early.mid-'10s under Ron, but until Passanante took over it sure wasn't boring. Once I heard she was tapped I dipped out. I made that rule re: Jean Passanante as a HW going back to her run at AMC, and her time at ATWT had done nothing to change that.

Wait. So the new hire IS a recast of Jerry? Lord...

It really did and the fact that where he was going with some plot points is STILL paying off is just amazing.

That's how I've been feeling watching. Yep, the episodes when I sit down are flying by, but some of that is cuz a majority of it is on MUTE. Beautiful gowns, I mean acting though.

At this point...as I said when they took over...while Frank is going to Frank...writing-wise, I have side-eyed CVE for a good amount of this.
