Is it just me or has there been a lot of rewrites in this whole Phoebe's father/Delilah storyline?

This isn’t that big a deal to me as the haphazard nature of so much of it happening all at once. Famously Anthony Geary auditioned with Jane Elliot for Mitch Williams, and while he wasn’t right for that part Gloria Monty allegedly created Luke right there on the spot.

But Gloria Monty and Douglas Marland could make that work. They even dropped a bunch of characters within their first couple of months. But they knew to look at the canvas and get Lesley and her family into a major story right away because she was a known quantity and used Laura to hook teens while rebuilding the rest of the show.

Yeah, I don’t know why but I got the impression the baby’s father was going to be older. And have more presence as a heavy. This guy isn’t terrible and he’s attractive, but there isn’t much there to hang a major plot on or make sense with what Ethan was so concerned about.

More than likely. They are writing Hudson as if he is in a rom-com part of the time as if we didn't see him beat the mess out of NuEthan and has a dark side.

Because they knew what they were doing more back then and played it smart than the current regime who cannot even objectively see what's wrong on the current canvas. And if the current regime keep going and ratings keep dropping, they might have another PM situation again and this time have no way to pivot it back to 'factory setting.'

I am not saying it's a bad idea cuz history has shown that it works in the past when done right, but that is not the case here.

I'm still quite behind, but I would say rewrite for sure because it was appearing like Hudson was Phoebe's daddy.

I think Ethan's sudden exit changed the initial plans. When we first saw Delilah on that dark street long ago, I really don't believe they thought that would be tied to the Jacks family. I could be wrong... I guess Hudson is connected to JJE, so they could reveal more soon that might make it make sense. But I just feel like Ethan's exit changed things up.

I could’ve sworn Hudson was the baby’s father, but maybe they were just purposely trying to mislead us.

Not just you, and that's the problem with this show. Feels like we're getting constant, constant rewrites on the fly -- panic writing.

I think if that was the original plan, Joss would not have had such a clumsy pivot into that story. We never even heard the company acronym before Hudson and Joss started saying it all the time.
