ICAM.

Bill & Hayley have NOTHING going on beside sex. The whole setup was filled with holes.

I've come to accept that as the show asking us to suspend our disbelief.

Other things were way more laughable. Like 'Val' and 'Sammy' meeting in front of that brick wall (...), Val going 'I just wanted to show you my new look! 🥰' and Sammy: 'BTW I wanted to give you your new ID, coincidentally the picture matches your new look!'.

'Val' considering Joey as a mark was stupid beyond words, because who would consider the town's mobster (his reputation precedes him and any sleuthing) for a scam?!

I officially cannot stand Naomi. Her blaming Derek for his own death was foul. Even if she shouldn't have gone there she still shouldn't have been blaming him and bringing up him lying about being paralyzed, especially considering that Jacob would have been a goner had Derek not been there.

ICAM.

When she walked in on Ashley and Greyson, she was smirking. And again she was not listening to Jacob. I cannot stand her.

The green screen background in the preview reminded me of when Sky and Raven would leave for a trip on EON. If your tech looks like something from 43 years ago then you should aim lower. Victor could have easily arrived in a less grand way.

I disagree. The green screen looked very good and I'm glad V&V weren't meeting at Uptown. I don't know what you guys are expecting exactly.

I hope the speculation in this thread is wrong about who the impaler is. I feel like it would be a bit of a let down if it's somewhere we've never met before. Especially since there are so many interesting suspects on the canvas. It would also give the new character a short shelf life I feel.

That's what I'm hoping given the bland, vanilla actor who was cast!

Can't we confine sex talks to friends, and not family members? I don't need to hear Anita advising Nicole on her sex life again. Ditto Martin with Ted.

And honest---I also don't need a lot of reminding that Anita and Vernon sweat up the sheets either. A little goes a long, long way.

I agree that making the Impaler someone new is a bit anti-climatic. I hope the Impaler is Carlton because it would make better story. Especially, after the quad dinner of Cartlon/Nicole and Joey/Vanessa where Joey called out his beliefs of plastic surgeons wanting to make a buck (leading to his mother's death). It would make Joey "right" that Carlton was out for money not patients. I can see the writers favoring Joey that way. Plus, it would end this Nicole fiasco of Carlton or Kial, the messy Carlton/Ted relationship, and add another layer of Nicole falling for someone that she never really knew. Carlton is clearly expendable.

The Naomi/Grayson bonding was an interesting twist. Is that just a red herring like the Kat/Jacob hug? Probably.

Unfortunately, it sounds fairly certain that the spoilered individual making their debut on 06/08 is more than likely The Impaler. BTG just doesn't seem to have a penchant for the element of surprise, which is a shame.

I've said this before, but I still don't understand why Joey needs to meet the Impaler.

If he's selling plasma and protecting his turf, yeah, I get it. But that's not what's going on. His crimes seem to be separate from any Red Market crime, so why does he need a meeting?

Joey claims the cops are on his case. So a meeting with the Impaler helps him? I'm lost here.

I also don't get why he needs loaded guns in his backroom for that meeting. That's his backup plan? It all plays like bad cops and robbers.

Have to agree. Yes, we all like a sex-positive show with characters who are sexual.

But the family sex talk isn't edgy. At some point, it gets awkward. Anita and Vernon still do the deed? Good for them. I just don't need so many scenes about it as if they're giving us some wildly progressive soap.

What show does?

"the spoilered individual making their debut on 06/08 " The show never announced the actor'a debut airdate.
The actor dropped the intel on their own IG and then replied to themself that they were probably not supposed to reveal that date.

BTW if I were the producers I would be mad at said actor. Not only did she do nothing to hide her joining the show but she also spoiled her first airdate potentially giving away a major spoiler.

I will go out on a limb and say I don't think making the Impaler a new character is a bad idea. Honestly, it's hard for me to believe it would be Carlton or Kial. They would need a lot of explaining for it to make sense. I'd rather the reveal feel believable than have a shocking twist that doesn't really fit the story.

My theory on Joey wanting to meet the Impaler is that people assume he's the Impaler so he wants to meet the real Impaler in order to prove that he's telling the truth. That's the only plausible explanation I could come up.

The thing about the show being sex-positive is that the tide is actually turning toward being less sexual than sexual.. especially for Gen Z and younger. It's why I'm glad that Kat was featured because she is a face and voice for those in that generation that arent into sex nor making it their whole identity.

I think having a character like Kat and not being that interested in sex nor wanting to hear about sex that's going on between family members is more likely the majority.

@Aback Agree. I kind of think the show needs to ban social media especially from performers that are hired and haven't even aired yet. Greg Vaughn was shown before he was set to debut and now this particular actress let the cat out of the bag twice.

I tend to agree. It would never make sense for a successful medical professional (like Lia, Nicole, Ted, Kial, or Carlton) to be the impaler. The writers have already given Lia and Grayson logical reasons for their lower level involvement-- Lia's entire retirement portfolio was stolen, and Grayson needed money to help his mother. But of the other characters employed at the hospital, why would any of them risk their successful careers, to become the Godfather of a two-bit plasma smuggling ring? Carlton is a great example -- Carlton is a very wealthy and well-known plastic surgeon. If he needs more money, he can simply schedule more surgeries. No need to get involved in illegal activity which could ruin his entire life. The same can be said about Ted, and similarly about Nicole and Kial.

Now, if the writers had planned ahead and introduced to the Garland staff (several months ago) a troubled doctor who was only marginally successful (perhaps he is a drug addict, or had lost nearly everything in a divorce, or whatever), then that doctor might have been believable as a candidate to be revealed as the impaler. But they didn't. So I'm completely happy that the impaler will be revealed as a new character.

Now, why was the very first image that came to mind a bottle of Tide laundry detergent?? Now that word in context with BTG will be the logo for laundry detergent. Procter & Gamble would be thrilled.

Does anyone else think it is time for TPTB to name the city that Fairmont Crest is in (or near)? It's occasionally awkward to hear the characters referring to Fairmont Crest all the time, when much of the action does not occur within the gated residential community of Fairmont Crest, but in other parts of the unnamed city. And sometimes the scripts use Fairmont Crest almost as if it is a city, which is not the case. They've told us the name of the county (which I've forgotten), and we know the state is definitely Maryland, but TPTB seem reluctant to name the city. Now, if the city is actually Washington DC (and not some smaller municipality in Maryland), then I think they should say that in the scripts far more often. For example, in Friday's episode, a character from far away mentions that he is going to Fairmont Crest, when most people would say the name of the city, not the gated residential community. The line would have sounded much more natural, if the character had said he was going to Washington DC. All of this is just my opinion, of course.

Several soap operas in the past have tried to avoid naming a specific location for their show (General Hospital and The Doctors for example), but it never works long-term. Eventually someone in charge decided they had to name the location.
