If Ted is considered the least toxic, you know there are problems. lol

I am liking that there is more going on than being uber focused on the Duprees. As others, I find them a bit much at times. Darlene not being a fan of the Duprees or wannabe Duprees (Leslie, Eva) is life. I hope the character keeps it real without being too cartoonish like Leslie is written most of the time.

There's been a lot of speculation about something happening to Jacob, but today made me nervous for Smitty. His character would be more dispensable within the show. I just hope they don't go down that route either. Martin and Smitty need to be part of the diversity that sets this show apart. I can't say I have any faith in the writers yet to not go there with Jacob or Smitty. In a way the unpredictability with this show is nice, but...

It had to have been on purpose that June was in the background of Donnell's selfie with Samantha. What's going to happen when it's posted online? Is her mean ex, who was referenced, going to see it? The kids real father? Will he show up at the Cotillion?

-- I agree that June ends up in that posted Samantha selfie. I hope they explain these sudden personality shifts in June. The June we've gotten to know would not turn down an invitation to the cotillion, and all of a sudden she's worried about not fitting in.

-- Speaking of not fitting in, there's Samantha. Hasn't this girl grown up around power and wealth? Then why is she written as someone who doesn't feel worthy to compete? Doesn't make sense to me.

-- Like others here, I'd like to see some of these preparations for cotillion instead of just hearing that Tyrell is a bad dancer.

-- The wigs are usually very good on BTG, but that Eva wig is WAY too much hair.

-- I am glad we're getting a source of conflict in the Eva/Izaiah story.

-- The Mama Showdown between Leslie and Darlene was decent, but would have been better if Leslie wasn't so cartoonish. She says things that are so tone deaf and so lacking in self-awareness that it's ridiculous. She wants Eva with Izaiah, yet throws out one crass comments or insult after another. She doesn't even try to fit in.

-- I like seeing Vernon meet with Martin -- over his campaign. Too much of that conversation was about Martin and Smitty's sexy time, and that was unbelievable and cringe.

-- The BWC (Brick Wall Conversations) continue to be awful. There is no reason for Jacob to meet Smitty there. None. All we heard was Jacob moaning about Naomi and Ashley -- telling us that this guy is no undercover cop. Oh, we also heard that Smitty is going to work on a plan. Jesus.

The only interesting scenes, and they were too short, were the ones with SPS and Darlene at the lunch with Eva/Izaiah.

Samantha/Donnell: Why does the show insist on wasting this talented actor with such a subpar actress and character.. and don't get me started on June (the only time I get Tyler Perry vibes is what that character).

Dani - yawn... rinse, lather, and repeat.
