If Timon doesn't want to remove the shirt, he's perfectly entitled to that preference and his acting more than compensates for keeping the shirt on.

Smitty was shirtless in front of Ted longer than he's ever been shirtless in front of Martin.

Ted is clueless to that fact that he cannot grant Leslie grace without her making it into something it's not.

Martin's opponent or opponents need to be seen at this point. Nameless, faceless opposition just doesn't work for this sort of storyline. With as many recurring players as the show likes to use it wouldn't be hard to bring someone on to stir the pot.
