What's really fúcked up (and I've said this before) is how interchangeable the pairings are. Frank doesn't care a whit about adding new Black people so Curtis regularly rotates between these two women over and over. He was having a big splashy wedding with Jordan just a couple years before he had another with Portia, and he had the exact same conversations with Portia about 'why my marriage to Jordan didn't work' 3-4 years ago that he's having with Jordan about Portia now. I wish Portia would bring that up.

It used to crack me up that Guza and that writing team were clinging to Carly and Sonny having feelings for each other when LW and Mo have little to no heat. Carly was always blowing up her life to ride or die for Sonny, they would even have them sleep together randomly or kiss. It wasn’t there anymore but Guza couldn’t let it go. Jax and Carly worked and it shouldn’t have. But they kept blowing them up for Sonny.

idk, I think he was over them as a serious love story by the time LW came in. But he did want to keep the relationship ties there and play the drama and Sonny's superior connection to Carly (in his mind), and he did that. They undermined Jax once too often, but they also did fairly play him as devoted to her and her sons. I think LW's connection with Ingo contributed to how much she gave of herself to him as well.

I think that whole story where the characters laughed at Jax being sexually assaulted was a window into how TPTB felt about Jax.

Today's show was boring.

I really wish they would give Elizabeth something meaty to play that just being everyone's talk-to. I'm not really feeling it with her and Ric. To me, she's part of the heart of the show and deserves more.

I think Guza loved, loved, loved Jax/Brenda. That was his pairing idea. Carly and Jax with LW were a happy surprise, but they did tease it in the TB Carly days. I never thought the show had much use for Jax post-Brenda, but he was popular enough to keep on. If Ingo wasn't such a dipshit we'd be talking about how poorly Jax was used through the years. He always was a good utility player and the only character that was seriously right about Sonny because he lived through it.

I think most of us don't have a problem with it. The issue we're referring to is Ingo is currently locked in petty litigation with Disney/ABC claiming (IIRC) they maliciously fired him and are trying to recast him as some sort of punishment, so they're not likely to touch the character for years to come til that's settled.

I don't think Ric and Liz should ever be a proper couple. With that said, I also don't want to see him go crazy as a foil for her and Dante.
