HUH? Viewership is DOWN because we're getting The Leo Show. DAYS no longer appears on Peacock's most-watched list.

-- This past week was absolutely awful except for the Xander/Sarah showdown, and the focus on Leo is the reason. He is NOT a hero, he is NOT a leading character. Writing him as having interest in Dimitri just because Al Calderon is leaving is another mistake. Better to recast immediately than to make Leo look even worse than he already is.

-- We fell in love with Peter Porte when he first came to Salem. Now? He can leave. Pairing him with Leo did him ZERO favors and the bad hairstyle makes it even worse.

-- Mark is another one with the ridiculous hair. Doesn't work. Another character with a promising start who Cwikly and Ford have done nothing with.

-- The Rachel and Sophia stuff is now bordering on the ridiculous. No one keeps Sophia out of Rachel's rooms. No cameras anywhere watching her movements. She went to the library? I guess there's no sign in and no one there to report she wasn't there. Instead, she's walking around Horton Square buying a cellphone. JFC.

-- The show is CRAP right now.

Huh? Where did I ever say that viewership was up? I’ve been trashing Cwikly and Ford for months and continually point out that Days is not in the Top 10 on Peacock like it was regularly when Ron Carlivati wrote the show.

You said the Leo scenes are great. You said Leo is front and center. You said they write for Leo because he's so popular with the audience.

Throwing in a line that you hate Cwikly and Ford doesn't erase this Leo Love. The show is bad because it's become The Leo Show.

Yeah… they put that Christening together in record time. Too bad Marlena couldn’t be there, but at least they gave us a reason though.

There was a little too much Javi and Leo today. But I admit, I probably would’ve loved their scenes if they had involved any character other than Leo. I’ll never understand why they’re giving so much good storyline and good scenes to a character that has only like four fans. That’s the wrong choice. Even I liked Leo, it would still be the wrong choice.

The time jump to the ceremony was a little clunky though. But I thought the ceremony was nice. Despite the acting, Javi was really sweet in those scenes too. And they used a real baby 😂😂

And yeah, I also don’t understand why they didn’t have Sophia actually slap Holly. There definitely should have been contact. That was another mistake in this storyline. But I’m glad that Holly raged at her lol it was classic Holly. Classic Holly that could drive future storyline.

And I like that she got to vent to Ari about it, who once again, spoke for all of us. Ari revealing to Holly that she might have seen Sophia in the square could lead to something interesting happening. I just hope Days takes the chance.

I’ve hated Cwikly and Ford’s writing for months. Go back and look. I didn’t throw in a line.

I love the Leo character, yes. Leo has been around for 9 or so years now. Leo was front and center when Ron Carlivati was writing the show in the early Peacock days and the show was in Peacock’s Top 10. Cwikly and Ford don’t know how to write Leo. Ron knew how to write him. Ron knew how to keep Days in Peacock’s Top 10.

-- That Lamon Archey vid is better than the show. Hilarious!

-- Sophia can't even talk but this therapist brings in Holly to work things out with her? 😁 😂 😆 What the hell kind of quacks do they hire at this facility with no security?

-- I can't believe how bad this Dr. Gregory is. It's actually funny. 😂

-- Who dressed Leo? Stevie Wonder?

-- The writing for Javi and Leo is absolutely awful.

-- Adios, Al Calderon. You're no soap actor.

Al Calderon was adorable today. I only hope his replacement is as charismatic.

I liked AC as Javi. I will miss him.

And I don't understand how PC and JMF still have jobs. They are absolutely terrible. I still think promoting David Kreizmen and Dan O'Connor is the way to go at this point.

So, Marlena couldn't make it to her great-grandson's Christening at the hospital because she was on a day trip to Chicago, but now she's back at the hospital for a doctor's appointment? OK

That was pretty bad. And I don't think a budget issue was the reason for that obvious continuity error.

But I did enjoy her scenes with Sarah. They work really well together and I like the relationship that Days has established between them. We got a really good insight as to how Marlena was feeling after all the mistakes that she made with Brady and Rachel. I still say that her actions and her illness should have been tied more to her grief over John's death though. That was a missed opportunity. But I'm glad that she's ready to return to work at the hospital. And that they were able to discuss Sarah's growing relationship with Brady.

Speaking of Brady, I enjoyed his showdown with Kristen as well... and that it looks like they're over for good. I'm glad that they're finally at a place where they can both admit how toxic they were. It shows growth, for both characters actually. Now, Kristen can just leave and go back to Aremid or something lol

While I enjoyed seeing Julie actually working at the bookstore, I had mixed feelings about her scenes today. I like the discussion that she had about grief, but I kinda wished it had been with another character. I really have no opinion about the character of Foster, but I don't want him in a relationship with Julie. And not just because of her and Doug's iconic couple status. But I am looking forward to the first meeting of her Bereavement Book Club with Maggie and Marlena.

And yeah, Leo just makes me sick. And no propaganda, or well written dramatic scenes are gonna make me like him. I did feel bad for Javi though, despite the acting and the crying. Maybe when he returns, he and Dimitri will develop feelings for each other lol and I'll say it again, (especially after his scenes today) Peter Porte deserves so much better than this. He's too talented and too charismatic for this nonsense, and also, to be trapped in a bubble with the two most unlikable characters on the show. I can't believe he's being wasted once again. He did look good though

This really does remind me of Dex/Joss on GH. Dimitri is Dex: a character, played by a talented actor that deserves so much better than what he's getting, and also is trapped in a bubble with two extremely unlikable characters. And Leo is (and always has been) Joss: a selfish POS that's constantly propped as this good person when they're clearly not. And the writers just don't get it.

I do think David Kreizman is a good scriptwriter, but I'm not too familiar with his HW work. I know when he was co-head writing ATWT, he was largely responsible for the character of Reid, and a lot of fans liked that character.

@Soapsuds How was DK's work on ATWT?

I think, character-wise, they are/were the right choices, but they don't bring enough "oomph" in their stories to really pull you in. As for David Kreizman and Dan O'Connor, both would be interesting head writers. I always preferred O'Connor at General Hospital over Chris Van Etten. But, at this point, with Ken Corday and his nepos there, any hope for this soap is folly.

Kreizman has his good and his bad (as any head writer does); I definitely enjoyed his tenure as co-head writer at As the World Turns the most out of the soaps he held the position at. And honestly, his time at All My Children was not bad, either.

I think Leo probably does have a faction of fans (not on this board lol). I actually don't mind Leo or GR like I did in the past, but unfortunately, we had to see Leo be awful for years and years. You don't forget that just because Leo isn't AS annoying as he was before.

My longtime friend and fellow DAYS fan loves Leo. He's one of his favorite characters these days. Diff'rent strokes...
