I mean, how incredibly soapy it would be if Vanessa were to break things off with Joey upon learning what really happened to Doug and then just a few short weeks later, she later finds out that she's pregnant and now she's really in deep doo-doo because sooner or later Joey's going to find out and he may want custody of the child. Just a thought.I hope the story doesn’t drag THAT long. I can’t stand the mob on soaps and Joey cringes the hell out of me.
December 31, 2025Dec 31 Member I always found Karla cloying and off-putting on GL, sometimes on B&B, etc. She has also really surprised me here, I think she's a tour de force. The dialogue work varies by the day, and she sells a lot that some quite awkward or stagey writing doesn't.

5 hours ago5 hr Member Well, I'm not about to let the thread be closed without mentioning the Christmas episodes. As someone who had to work, I loved them. And as I have already mentioned, I loved that there was the running joke of the Dupree women doing a pre-emptive strike on their gifts. This soooo has to be a thing next year a la ROSWELL and the 'Christmas Nazi.' It gave me so many giggles.I think another thing that I really loved about that set of episodes (besides from seeing Tracy again) is that it did what I've been saying they should do. A solid story/event with other stories surrounding it, giving off movement. While Christmas was the main thing going on, there was Anita's arc in the background of it all to anchor everything. And Monday and Tuesday's episodes ended on little cliffhangers which I liked. And of course, Wednesday gave a solid conclusion. For now of course. And I loved that they got the whole family in one room.Something else I noticed and I'm going to be shocked to say it...Tuesday was the first time I saw the full potential of Shanice/Ted/SPS. Sorry, June, but Ted and Shanice were pretty funny, and it felt organic and then here came SilkPress peeking around the corner giving old soap opera. Shanice ain't one to back down so I'm in. Speaking of couples...which I do feel BTG has been doing fairly well so far...the coming together of Eva and Izaiah was cute. And we know I ain't liking Eva so that is high praise.I also love that Anita told Vernon (though I didn't like that picture). Her keeping the secret (and sidenote: good job of her running to Sharon and Tracy) was not kept too long and just the right amount of time it was kept gave the story a build. And TT has already been acting her butt off for me. Meanwhile, I'm glad that Nicole and Dani quickly figured out why Vernon was seeing Sharon and ignoring Ted. Good.I haven't started this week yet, but it sounds like NYE is going to be some great episodes, too. Awesome!Seems like BTG has its momentum back and thank you for that.

My deepest gratitude to CBS, NAACP, P&G, the writers, producers, directors, cast and crew of #BeyondTheGates. Without you breathing life into that dream it would still be random thoughts in my head, instead of this vibrant community and family we’ve become. So grateful for you all 🙏🏽 Edited 1 hour ago1 hr by janea4old
1 hour ago1 hr Member ChelseaKat is apparently a real shop via F&W Style. I don't know if they're selling the Anita Baby bag.The Christmas episode definitely did give me P&G/Marland ATWT vibes. Very warm and not artificial in its sentiments. I hope @DRW50 will check it out!
