Of course it's just a rumor so it shouldn't be taken that seriously and when there really is an issue usually an actor will just turn the role down or leave (like the first Adam Newman on Y&R). If anything I think the producers might be keeping the kissing down to avoid issues with more conservative viewers. When it comes down to it Facebook pages are full of ignorant people who speculate about everything.

However, let me say this and I don't think it applies in the case of MM and BC. Straight actors shouldn't accept a role if they are unwilling to play intimate scenes that are often required in daytime. Imagine a gay actor accepting a straight role and saying they won't do any intimate scenes or have very limited intimacy with an opposite sex co-star. It wouldn't happen though, because the stigma works one way.

I think the limited intimacy has more to do with trepidation of how soap viewers will take it. The average soap viewer is older and more conservative and soaps aren't exactly drawing in younger eyes, so storylines have tended to lean more safe in the 21st Century especially in terms of sex and sexuality with a few exceptions.

On that note, I have finally caught up this week.

I am loving the Anita stuff that is brewing and I'm glad TT is finally getting some meaty story to work on and not just be a mouthpiece to move others' stories along or play narrator.

NuTed is not sitting well with me. I am having a hard time understanding the casting change, because the new actor isn't exactly hitting it out of the park and he makes the other characters play and feel different with how he plays opposite them. I'm going to give it time, but there was something more endearing about Ted #1  inspite of some of his acting shortcomings.

I am obsessed with Wig. Our girl is really crazy and I'm not sure they're going to be able to keep her on for long without turning her into a caricature or making the show a big joke, but for now mammaaaa (*Eva's voice*) is providing the dramatics.

I've said this before, but I'm super impressed by how far the actress playing Naomi has come. I wonder what she's been doing, because she's gotten so comfortable and the acting has vastly improved.

I have a feeling that Bill is going to say something about Martin being zesty and Chelsea is going to be there to overhear. I thought it was interesting that she didn't feel comfortable telling her father and the convo between Dani and Chels hinted that maybe he might be a little more old school in thinking.

*Gavrilo Princip has entered the chat*

I haven't watched BTG in approximately two months because of the busy season at work, but now it's summer, and I'll have time to get back into it. Do y'all think that I should do the 21st century binge-watching thing and attempt to catch up on everything I missed or should I do the traditional soap thing and just start watching again tomorrow and figure everything out from there?

Yes we have seen Dani/Andre, Doug/Vanessa, Ashley/Derek and Naomi/Jacob in bed but no Martin/Smitty.

And Chelsea's 3 way involvement has consisted of about 3 scenes at the Hideout before it was over.

Its really good, Shadows. I can't tell you what to do, but I started from the beginning out of curiosity and I have watched every episode without regret. It is actually a daily treat for me now, because I really love it now. If you have the time, I'd watch the whole run.

I just said the same thing to my friend (another BTG fan) when she saw me reading this board earlier. It's a real shame, but my memories of Otalia (Guiding Light 2009) and Nuke (As the World Turns 2007) come to mind. You would think P&G would have grown up by now.

I'm rewatching the week right now. And I can say I'm finding the Ashley/Derek drama much more entertaining the second time around. Not that I disliked it the first time around. Even as the C plot it is, I feel it had a nice build. If anything, they really should use Jan/Andre/Naomi more to get her POV and Jacob/Hayley for Derek's POV.

There have been moments when JJ has not done a good job in my eye, but most of the time, I like her acting. And physically she reminds me of someone I know. Even body language. So watching her scenes with Andre just now...she really comes across as the girl that is just used to her and her mother so she's very to one way of doing things and never had to compromise. And now watching the Insta in full...yep...that's how she played it for me.

Watching Derek's scene with Jan again, Ben actually briefly came across as acting himself. Yes, I said it. lol. And I cannot talk about him without mentioning them blue jeans. lol.

While I understand where Ashley is coming from and like how it's been written for the most part...Team Derek.

It's been a great May Sweeps so if you don't want to go all the way back, I would say start from the last week and a half of April. Month 2 was good IMHO, but it was mostly character development with only one clear (and well-paced) A story. So depending on which plots you like, would determined if you thought it would be a good month.

Gasp! But that’s impossible! Don’t you remember we have that insider on the board who claims that there’s no ‘proof’ linking P&G or CBS to any kind of homophobia?

I agree with that as well. And have said as much as well. Say what you want, Maurice had presence and a clear personal style that mended well with the audience.

And when he was in scenes with SilkPress, there was a menace and darker side to him that was not apparent otherwise. For that reason alone, I just don't see him ever getting back with SilkPress unless it's hate sex...and MJ and TM DID have chemistry. I can completely see the True Crime comparison.

Keith's Ted hasn't shown any of that. Yet. And while he might have more nuances to play with...and I still see Ted when I see him...it is different from Maurice...and sadly taken the edge that I felt Ted had and needs. Which of course makes me wonder if his Ted is being set up for an actual triangle between him, Nicole, and SilkPress with more legs. And that is just off of how Keith is playing Ted...which feels more 'romantic male lead who messed up' vs Maurice's 'male lead with a dark side/edge.' And I mean triangle with mixed feelings, not just hate sex.

I would fall all the way out.

Wait until you see the new promo when someone posts it.

And I think I saw her on a promo for THE CHI this past week as well, but I might have been wrong on that.
