It's catchy. Not what I was expecting them to have Anita sing - not because of her age on the show, but because they keep talking about this group The Articulettes which sounds reminiscent of 60s era Motown girl groups.

However, this sounds a little like Pebbles Girlfriend...def has the NJS vibe.

The actor who plays Ted seems super positive about the show on Twitter and keeps posting really cute things. Do we know why there's going to be a change or what exactly happened?

Nope; just that a change was made.

Thank you. I like this Ted, but let's see what happens.

The show had a promising start with the Silk Press Sheila using her daughter Eva to go undercover as Nicole's temporary assistant, Golden child Martin has some secret his grandparents are covering up, and there seemed to be a criminal element brewing with Joey trying to make a move at first chance at getting behind the gates.

However, instead of properly pacing this stories so that we don't go days without them, the show is introducing stories for others that can wait awhile (i.e. Samantha's moderling, Tyrrell's bullying).  I would kept both Samantha and Tyrrell off canvas and introduced them later on.

I also would have scaled back on Dani's airtime since at least 50 % of her airtime is wasted and could have gone to focusing on the other three plotlines that have potential/legs.  Her character is too one note, and the show would probably function better if she was written out.

I think the day to day scripts have been good at establishing character relationships.. but we've not seen much progress at any of the stories.  We get strong starts to these plots.. but the middle part of each plot if lacking at the moment.

I'm still hanging in there.

The man is just class personified. He's been let go and he's still championing the show.

I really hope he goes on to bigger things.

I dont think they can wait. There's about 1.5 months left in the school year. The kids' stories kinda have to happen now since school is playing heavily into it and they are pacing things to set them up fo hte summer months which will have them in a different setting due to them not being in school

Well I can't speak for anybody else, but like I said yesterday I am very aware that my perspective will differ from others. But I do like slow burns and actual storytelling. I give credit where it's due as well as call a spade a spade (as anyone who has been in the GH thread over the last year know VERY well...complete with a disclaimer when I hit the writer run in question ;) ) so I hope that the fact that my perspective appears 'Pollyanna' versus what my perspective actually is does ruffle feathers. :)

And with that in mind...ON WITH THE SHOW!!!

And I already can see that @kalbir is going to eat up those Dani/Andre scenes. And not alone because they continue to give an adult...what is it called situationship.

And so it begins. And I loved that fade cut when Sherri walked into the country club. And not her getting that manager fired. And oh no, she's onto Eva!!!

I noticed the same thing. It wasn't bad but it was giving the same height and shape as last week.

Haha.

That Andre and Dani was scene was very B&B.

That agent gives scam vibes. It's good that Anita is being given story and not locked into being just the advice giver/listener.

Leslie got that country club manager fired lol. I knew she would not let it go and get him back. I think she is starting to notice that Eva is becoming attached to Nicole and at some point that is going to set her off.

Kat was so petty for showing Hayley that video.

I love reading all of your takes. And the fact that you never judge other people's opinions is what matters to me. That's how I try to roll too. Even though I'm not always successful at it. 😂

Yassss to Anita having a hint of a story!!! I must admit that I have been enjoying this friction between her and Vernon the last few days.

Thank you. :) If there is anything that I'm learning over the last few weeks due to RHOBH which I no longer watch, but did tune in for the reunion due to Garcelle's exit...it is the need to know when people have opinions that I might not agree with and...just scrolling on down the page. Or a block. Some of those online Garcelle haters are crazy. I have a friend who does not like her, but he always has sound comments about her. And another friend loves her, but will also call her out when she's being up to no good. All good perspectives in my humble opinion even if I don't always agree.

But going back to the show...I know Bill is not trying to use Tomas like a double agent!!! And I do like what Hayley had on.

I'm curious about where they will have Dani go. Well, job-wise.

Mm-hmm. I agree 💯. And I really don't understand why some people can't accept that we all have different opinions. It's just so simple. We are grown ass people.

Tell me about it.

I made a few little comments about being worried that Ron and Jamey are there and people came for me like I killed somebody 😂

Well darn! I was hoping there would be more conflict in Dani's choice of jobs given how she was acting.

And Yaaasss to Silk Press Sheila being the cliffhanger for today. More signs that the storyline will finally come to a head. Which I was already enjoying.

Love your posts because like you, I just don't feel the need to complain about everything. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the show.

As far as that slow burn, I don't know how long folks in here have been watching the soaps, but I started in 1974 when I was home from school one day when I was kid and I mother told me to turn to Channel 2(WCBS-NYC) at 2:30 when she was at work and watch her show. That was The Edge of Night. Ever since then I've been hooked. Anyone watched in the 70's and 80's knows those story lines went on for months and months, so yeah, I love it when they don't rush through, but move the story along with twists and turns.

Oh yeah, Dani/Andre.....

Lord, y'all are dramatic.

I am a few days behind so I need to catch up, but I never thought this show was perfect. Nor did I say so, including in the first week which had some very rocky stuff lol. It is not that serious. I have been meaning to do a run-down on the larger program for a week or two but I've been preoccupied by IRL stuff. I will stick by what I've said at length before about my issue with the B&B brand of declarative/expository dialogue that may be out of the old Bell family school. I don't think it works here, especially with younger, greener actors. And I think there has been a sleepy period before sweeps which is also not unusual especially with a new soap. But I don't think there's much warranted to claim this show is either a) the apex peak of soap opera or b) collapsing inward, with the sky falling upon us. Neither is true! Again, not that serious.

I judge each day as it comes and I can be pretty brutal and critical about what I don't like on BTG. But I also keep perspective about the show being very new and working itself out, and I think anyone assuming that the rest of the show's audience is a fraction as critical or fickle as what's in this thread is fooling themselves. It's stayed strong both on social media and in its demos, and I don't think it is going anywhere any time soon. Whether anyone wishes it would or not.

As for the things I definitely want to see change or improve, I will try to catch up on more of them and discuss them if I get done with all the shít I am juggling IRL this week.

It kinda feels like they thought the first 2 weeks would be action packed and then we can settle down. They should have planned out some sort of cliffhangers for each story for a few months.

People coming to soaps (and after 25 years there would be a few) have lived through a different era of television and even if they had caught soaps recently nothing of the current shows would appeal on a cursory glance.

BTG promised glam and fast moving stories with confrontations etc and that's what we saw but things settle down too quickly.

Viewers might be wondering why people were just talking to each other in the same sets day after day.

They need more location shots, conflict and mini cliffhangers.

As I stated previously part of that is having boring conflict free couples like Ashley/Derek and Martin/Smitty playing house.

Now that the first batch of shows have aired, hopefully they will take stock and make some tweaks.
