At last!  My prayers have been answered!  Cady McClain gets to have a role of her own on a soap, instead of being a recast!  Thank you, MVJ, and everyone else at BTG for making this happen!!

Cady McClain & Tamara Tunie were on World Turns together, yes. And when Tunie returned briefly in 2009, Jon Lindstrom was on the cast, but I am unsure if their paths crossed.

She and Peter Bergman (Jack) were fire on Y&R together, but the arrival of Gina Tognoni's Phyllis definitely changed the character's direction.

He isn't anymore, but per his own words, he was allowed to do both, but DAYS had priority use. So, if DAYS was to use him and GH needed him, DAYS could decline it as the contractual-hold.

IIRC, whenever he was on contract at DAYS, he was rarely (if ever) used on GH.

The candy part def made me laugh. IIRC, Susan was back on contract after Bill passed away. No idea if she remained on contract though.

Which Jane answered! Thanks for the confirmation!

Jon has often credited her with giving both characters their definition and making Kevin work. MVJ responded to the actors and the Ryan story, and Labine let her keep it going with Kevin. MVJ even came up with the Lucy angle. She must have really liked those actors because I have seen lots of effusive posts between her and JL, and several photos of her out to dinner and spending time with Kristina Wagner in recent years.

And I understand they both like the pairing. I think stuff like this also makes it easier to get rid of Laura, or any character in the same spot. At that time she was with a recurring character (Kevin) and only had Nikolas (who came and went), and a recurring kid in Spencer. At least now her kids are on contract and somewhat being featured.

This was the big news?

I've loved Cady in every role she's done. I just hope she doesn't get bashed for her acting like she did in the past.

I've never cared for Jon Lindstrom.. He was a horrible Craig, but I do enjoy him on GH.

Cady and Tamara overlapped for a few years. I don't know if they ever interacted. By the time Jon joined the show Tamara was mostly gone.

The best I've seen from Jon was his '90s work as Ryan/Kevin. He lost a lot of spark after that (as did daytime in general), although he still did some good work as Ryan in his various returns.

It will be interesting to see Cady in a new part. She's very up and down - sometimes excellent, sometimes very mannered.

I already said this in the BtG thread but I wouldn't be shocked if Genie ever tries to move to this show if it can happen, especially with the right part, as her heart was always with more "bad" type ladies anyway.

Great news for both.

Lindstrom hasn't had anything to do on GH for years, and he's way too talented to simply appear as "arm candy" when #firefrank deigns to use him. Hopefuly he can continue to make the random, occasional pop-ins as Kevin.  I completely agree that Genie has long deserved a love interest more suited to her. I, long ago, would have reunited Kevin with Lucy. Kevin always grounded Lucy.

With everything that's happened with Mac learning about Cody, Kevin and Mac  not having any conversations just shows how little FV gives a flying fig about either character.

Fantastic news for Cady, who should be ensconsed in the Horton house as opposed to MBR appearing for handfuls of episodes.  I hope the Pamela character keeps her on the air for years to come.

    • Jonathan Kellerman is definitely the most EON/Slesar-like writer in the business right now.  Unfortunately, he's almost 80 years old.  Interestingly, he has a son (Jesse Kellerman) who's about 45, who's been studying under him.  I believe what makes the Kellermans such effective mystery & crime writers is their background in psychology.
    • I never understood the point of Marchetti. Summer left the show for a job there in Italy. OK. When she returned they had Jack buy the company. Why couldn't Summer have returned and simply stated it was not a good fit, she missed her home , family/friends etc It was absurd that this internationally successful fashion empire could just be bought by a US cosmetics firm at the drop of a hat. What was the point when they never did anything with it at all? Summer simply could have gone to work at Jabot. And wasn't there some nonsense about an offshhoot called Marchetti Home? Was Phyllis attached to that at some point? This show...

    • Haven't seen today's ep yet but so will be interested to see the clothes. So far I think they have been very character specific (even if I don't like some of them eg Kat's cutsie style) Anita is very showy/glittery, Nicole classic elegance, Dani sexy/bold colors etc. Unlike Y&R which seems much more generic. Also BTG pays attention to the men's wardrobe and has developed a style for the boyz-which is harder to do with male fashion. The absence of any of Derek/Ashley at any of these big events again demonstrates how they are in a different universe to the rest of the show. Not that a nurse and a fireman would be there but still they seem destined at this point to stay in their own lane and have little interaction with the core of the show.
    • Agnes had written for Bernard Grant for many years on TGL as well as Ernest Graves and Joe Gallison,Doris Belack,Robert Milli, and  Antony Ponzini at AW. So she would probably gravitate to writing a role with an actor in mind or choosing someone she had written for before who she knew could deliver.
    • Once Johnny Dallas' cut himself off from Laurie Ann Karr and their son, and once Laurie successfully recovered from her mental problems, she wanted a new, fresh, and healthy start for the next chapter of her life. She legally reverted her name and changed John Victor's  surname to Karr. After moving to the country (when Teri  Keane was dropped from the show), Bill and Martha Marceau legally adopted Jennifer, the baby girl whom they had earlier taken in when the child's biological mother, Taffy Simms (and other bio family members) proved to be unfit to raise her. Jennifer legally and emotionally became a Marceau, and gave that name to her own daughter, whom Jennifer birthed through surrogacy as a single parent. Et...voila! The Karr and Marceau legacies live on.

    • BLQ is having second thoughts regarding putting her baby up for adoption. Chase is upset he can't tell Dante. So both are putting this on at lulus feet. Saying she is holding it over them. Lulu is doing none of this.
    • Yes she absolutely was involved in that story which seems to have gone nowhere.  She didn't start to remove herself from the writing until 1973.
