Here is the Luke Leaves Town artcile from SID Ins & Outs

GH's Luke hits the road on Wednesday, June 10th to rescue a damsel in distress....and you can bet Tracy's fightin' mad about it!!

The IN DEPTH STORY: It's that time of year again for Anthony Geary (luke) to exit the GH canvas and enjoy some R&R at his Amsterdam home for the summer. Soaps in Depth hears he'll be back on the West Coast in Early September and on air a couple weeks later. "For the first time in all these years that I've bee ntaking summers off, I'm really looking forward to my summer, but I kind of regret leaving my situation here because I"m having the best time I maybe ever had," Geary says of the emotionally-charged storyline he's tackling.

But Luke's exit won't be that cut and dry. "Luke's loved ones will all think he is up to his old tricks when he disappears from Port Charles," teases headwriter Robert Guza Jr. "But what they don't know is that Helena's directly involved in his disappearnce this time around."

Hey folks, not much Tracy today but she was part of the funniest dialogue. A friend of mine at SOC calls it the "Who's on first - Luke's version" where Alexis asks who's Spanky? Who's Dodger? Who's English? and the cop says Who's Natasha? Perfect delivery and everyone with a straight face.

But IMO the best line was Tracy asking Holly where her Sapphire necklace was and Luke replied "Did you look at the bottom of the mattress?" Love it! Even in this mood LuNacy is still frolicking.... just wish they would frolic in front of the camera.

So Hells is involved... wonder how long it will take them to figure that out. This summer already isn't sounding bad - he leaves mid-June to reappear mid-September. That's only three months and that last month JE has off anyway, or there abouts). I wonder who the "Damsel" is. I know who Tracy will think it is, but I wonder how Helena is going to pull this one off. I'm still thinking there will be a Holly/Helena connection at some point. Too many unanswered questions.

At this point I would rather it be Skye calling him than Holly to come to her aid.

I was about to say I don't get it about the necklace and why he said "did you look at the bottom of the mattress--meaning bottom of Holly's mattress in the hotel room where she was with Luke, but now I get it --duh..he meant at the bottom of "their" mattress! LOL--slow on the uptake. THat is what happens when you don't watch. What was she in--like 3 or so scenes?

Honestly, I haven't watched one single episode or clips the entire month of May. I'm like 19 episodes behind.

I think I will have a marathon one of these days. So far, JE has been on 15 episodes in May out of 19--not too shabby--getting ready for her summer vacay! :)

I am thinking that they are not going to find out it is Helena for a while, and then Ethan comes clean to lulu about his agenda there or something and maybe the two of them go off on an adventure to find Luke. Hopefully they will tell Tracy of their suspicions.

It amounts to probably about 16 weeks--so much for that "less vacation" he got. Being that he probably left town end of April.

It's gonna be another long summer--but honestly, I'm ready for a Luke break. I just hope we still get a little bit of Tracy/lulu.

June 10

Episode: "Jason Promises Rebecca"

Jason promises he'll help Rebecca in any way he can; Luke is knocked out by Helena's bodyguard when he confronts her about threatening Rebecca.

Ciao Luke!!

I wish the rest of them didn't think he went after Holly--but I guess it is a soap.

Well that clears up the Damsel thing. Nice touch actually, another Quartermaine/Spencer connection and someone who's special to Ethan. I bet Ethan/Lulu figure things out and go to rescue him. I just hope they involve Tracy somehow. She's going to be so hurt and angry, then so guilty and upset. If past summers are any indication, 12 weeks is going to be a walk in the park for us. But more importantly, the audience will know that he didn't leave Tracy. That's almost as important as Tracy knowing with this stupid uproar by LnL fans thinking themselves 'disrespected' by GH.

Actually I think it is more like 15 or 16 weeks probably.

I don't think the damsel in distress is Rebecca. Because Tracy "leaves him with an ultimatum" the week of the 8th according to the Natl Enquirer Spoilers. I doubt he is going to get a call from Rebecca and Tracy would be pissed at that.

I am guessing he gets a call from Holly to help her. Tracy gets pissed and gives him an ultimatum. Luke chooses not to go after Holly and stay there with Tracy, but then gets kidnapped by Helena or taken. Tracy assumes he chose Holly. She is pissed all summer. I'm sure Ethan comes clean and maybe he and lulu go find him, etc.

My gut is that TG may not be around, but he is no way going to let Ethan's story suffer while he is gone.

For those of you who like the serial drama girls (Remos you won't like this article and neither will funny because it is a total rag on TG so warning)

Too many people are riding the TG thing - it's way overblown.

Anyway, I think it makes perfect sense, Hooked. If Tracy is blustering about something and later Luke happens upon Rebecca and tries to help her, the audience knows what Luke did but Tracy will think Luke called her bluff and walked. The two spoilers are not mutually exclusive. TG said last year leaving Tracy behind doesn't make sense anymore, but if he's taken he didn't leave her... she just won't know that immediately.

GV said he's been gone for some time already. So he's obviously pre-taped. That article said he was off screen from mid-June until mid-September, that's 12-13 weeks. Add a month gone already and that's his 16 weeks at least. Either way there has been pre-taping and Luke is not going to be gone like last year. After that marathon we can handle anything, and I doubt Tracy will disappear like 2008 because she'll be involved with other stories. Last year everything was stalled to 'fix' Claudia. This year everyone is getting a story somehow.

Oh lookeee, a little OJ video!!! Nice! Love the song you picked. I have to admit, I like them together. It's sorta sick given the age difference (and yes, I'd say the same thing if the man were 20 years older than the woman)... still, They're hot. They sizzle. It's an odd coupling, but it works! The producers are on to something.

I think it said he would back on the west coast early september and onscreen a couple weeks later (around the 20 week or something I would guess) so it is like 14 or 15 weeks. But whwatever. Better than 21 I guess.

Get ready for Kristina to be a mess and for Alexis to get trashed all summer!

I think Twitter is a totally narcissitic crazy thing, but damn if NLG isn't entertaining!

FWIW--which isn't a lot these days..

She will see Ethan and Rebecca hugged up on the docks in a week or so and when that happens she's not going to like it but she says she's upset because of the fact that Rebecca has been seeing her other brother.

I think that's going to be a recurrent theme but its hard to say if she's been honest about her reasoning or not.

Do you have anyting on NuNem?

Probably just what you know. She is Em's sister, Nik and she have sex. Alexis finds out and tells Nik who tells her. She convinces him and Jason that she had no idea she was related to Emily. She really puts on a show but then she gots to Ethan and tells him things are going according to plan. She and Ethan are in town to scam the family out of money but Rebecca wants more than money though. She wants the lifestyle. the family, the social standing etc.

What does Ethan want? How does he fit into her con or does he have a con of his own?

It was just a great big weird coincidence. They met. He was on his way to PC to check out this Luke Spencer guy that Holly had told him about. He and Rebecca hooked up and she told him about her long-lost sister and the great big family fortune that she got cheated out of who just happened to also be in PC. They said, ok, let's go get it. So they cooked up this scheme.

So Helena is not involved AT ALL? And Ethan is Luke's son, period? Right?

That's the way it appears after their first talk. I don't know what happens on down the road. They make with the huggy, kissy stuff and Lulu sees and doesn't like but when she confronts Ethan about it, she says its because this girl is a dead ringer for her dead sister in law and she thinks something is fishy about Rebecca. Ethan tells her that he actually only met Rebecca when she came in the casino and they've seen each other a couple of times but its nothing serious at which point she warns him to be careful because she doesn't trust Rebecca. She's very negative about him seeing her but its hard to say if its jealousy or just concern about two of her brothers.

That's as far as the info I have goes.

And

Why would Tracy be so pissed if the damsel in distress who calls is Rebecca?

Helena's goons knock him out and that's the last we see of him.

This picture screencap from today is cracking me up..the lighting is so strange and the wide angle. Tracy looks like a little girl in a time out.

Need a caption so bad...

Perhaps..."Jane Elliot--you are now being paged to the Vet Closet. Please step into the cell and watch your hands and feet as the door closes behind you!" LOL

    • That's always been my thought. I can't imagine that the show would play up the unseen AD so far in advance without them casting a *star*. After today's episode, I wonder if he'll somehow be connected with Diane. It was strange that Diane mentioned her very distant family today. I can't recall Diane ever talking about her backstory. Maybe he's her much younger brother?  It's also possible he's connected to Diane during her time in LA. Sally's already said she crossed paths with him. OC, I think Dumas is Mariah's mistake.... As a side note, it was good to see some mixing it up - Adam with Clare/Kyle and Sharon with Tessa.
    • Here's the place to share some memorable criticism. You don't have to agree with it, of course (that's often where the fun starts). Like I mentioned to @DRW50, Sally Field was a favorite punching bag in the late '80s and early '90s.   Punchline (the 1988 movie where she and Tom Hanks are stand ups): "It's impossible to tell the difference between Miss Field's routines that are supposed to be awful, and the awful ones that are supposed to be funny." -- Vincent Canby, New York Times. "It's not merely that Field is miscast; she's miscast in a role that leaves no other resource available to her except her lovability. And (David) Seltzer's script forces her to peddle it shamelessly." -- Hal Hinson, Washington Post. "As a woman who can't tell a joke, Sally Field is certainly convincing. ... Field has become an unendurable performer ... She seems to be begging the audience not to punch her. Which, of course, is the worst kind of bullying from an actor. ... She's certainly nothing like the great housewife-comedian Roseanne Barr, who is a tough, uninhibited performer. Sally Field's pandering kind of 'heart' couldn't be further from the spirit of comedy." -- David Denby, New York   Steel Magnolias: The leading ladies: Dolly Parton: "She is one of the sunniest and most natural of actresses," Roger Ebert wrote. Imagining that she probably saw Truvy as an against-type role, Hinson concluded it's still well within her wheelhouse. "She's just wearing fewer rhinestones." Sally Field: "Field, as always, is a lead ball in the middle of the movie," according to Denby . M'Lynn giving her kidney to Shelby brought out David's bitchy side. "I can think of a lot more Sally Field organs that could be sacrificed." Shirley MacLaine: "(She) attacks her part with the ferociousness of a pit bull," Hinson wrote. "The performance is so manic that you think she must be taking off-camera slugs of Jolt." (I agree. If there was anyone playing to the cheap seats in this movie, it's Shirley.) Olympia Dukakis: "Excruciating, sitting on her southern accent as if each obvious sarcasm was dazzlingly witty," Denby wrote. Daryl Hannah: "Miss Hannah's performance is difficult to judge," according to Canby, which seems to suggest he took a genuine "if you can't say something nice ..." approach. Julia Roberts: "(She acts) with the kind of mega-intensity the camera cannot always absorb," Canby wrote. That comment is so fascinating in light of the nearly 40 years Julia has spent as a Movie Star. She is big. It's the audience who had to play catch up. And on that drag-ish note ... The movie itself: "You feel as if you have been airlifted onto some horrible planet of female impersonators," Hinson wrote. Canby: "Is one supposed to laugh at these women, or with them? It's difficult to tell." Every review I read acknowledged the less than naturalistic dialogue in ways both complimentary (Ebert loved the way the women talked) and cutting (Harling wrote too much exposition, repeating himself like a teenager telling a story, Denby wrote). Harling wrote with sincerity and passion, Canby acknowledged, but it's still a work of "bitchiness and greeting card truisms." The ending was less likely to inspire feeling good as it was feeling relieved, according to Denby. "(It's) as if a group of overbearing, self-absorbed, but impeccable mediocre people at last exit from the house."
    • I tend to have two minds about Tawny (Kathy Najimy) fainting during Soapdish's big reveal. You're the costume designer, if anything, you should have known the whole time. I guess it's an application of what TV Tropes calls the "Rule of Funny." Every time I watch Delirious, I always want the genuine romance in John and Mariel's reunion at the deli counter to last longer. Film critics had their knives out for Sally in this period. I'll start a separate thread on the movies page.
    • I don't think so, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was Dumas this whole time.
    • Tamara Tunie was serving up grand dame diva fierceness.
    • Nick told Victoria that he and Sharon had married in England.  Victoria was shocked.  Then she realized he was kidding.  He confirmed it was a joke and they're platonic. I don't even know what to say about that.
    • It's funny you say that because part of the entertainment of the trials on the show are all the day players who come on as witnesses and jurors.  I'm certain it was like the Law and Order of its time. It employed so many New York actors, that if you look close enough, there's usually someone vaguely recognizable in the courtroom.
    • I will defend Dante.  People already suspect he may be a bit unstable from time to time (from his time as a prisoner).  And, he's taking care of other people's kids from time to time.  So, he has reason to be cautious with those in his care.
    • Josh continues to try and milk Abbott/Newman rivalry. First it was Billy/Victoria, then Kyle/Summer, then Noah/Allie (that worked out well) and now Kyle/Claire. Do we have any inkling when Billy Flynn will arrive and who he will play? I'm sure Cole's illness will mostly play offscreen. What's in store for Nick and Sharon? Is it time to put them back together? I can't see any other romantic options. Nick has no children on the canvas to play off, as Christian is never seen. Sharon has only Mariah onscreen.
