DEADLINE: Days of our Lives Misconduct Investigation Against Co-EP Albert Alarr

I feel grotesque even typing this but... is there an actor in Days history who died by suicide prior to 2017? That feels like the most identifying detail in that blind.

I believe the allegations about Albert, but that blind sounds even more dramatic and dire than what we've heard from the Days set.

@jam6242 Thanks for pointing that out. I have absolutely no memory of him or his character, but that's awful on its own, and to think it was tied to Days is horrific.

Alarr didn't come onboard at Days until 2003, so I'm not sure his stint overlaps enough to know for sure, but it's truly horrible if so.

I think that was the name. He got busted for either dealing or possession in the early 2010s IIRC, so he would fit both the age range and 'a few issues' comment.

I hope so. I kinda think Peacock might encourage him. Of course, there's someone who does a popular podcast who is sure that JFP wants the job. And, of course she would. Dear God, fire & frying pan. But, Jill spends a lot of money & DAYS doesn't have it. I want Greg Meng to get back from Italy. Not that you can't make phone calls. Apparently Peter Reckell reached out to Greg Meng today. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall. It's possible he is back. On his FB page his last post - from Italy - is July 20!!

Yep, that’s him, and he’s the first one that came to my mind while reading that. He was 16-17 at the time he was on the show and was later arrested for selling coke out of his parents’ house. Seems he escaped from acting at around the same time. “Escaped” bc I almost said he gave up, and that doesn’t seem to be the appropriate phrase if the blind item is about him.

Agreed that the timeline of Dylan Patten's arrest and probation fits the blind item

Assuming the story is true, none of my questions really matter, but the way it was written was deliberately obtuse, especially because of the use of the term "casting couch" as both a noun and an adjective.  And because it is written with none of the sensitivity that we use in post Times-Up culture

For example, the whole paragraph about the "biggest casting couch person on the set" who is friends with an A-lister who likes drugs really confused me because are we meant to think that being a big casting couch person refers to one who demands sexual favors, or one who provides sexual favors.

The actor who "refused all casting couch advances" and was fired, "but later went on to win an Emmy", seems as if it would be simple to infer given the awards - Dylan Patton was nominated for best younger actor in 2010, then between 2011-2015 Chandler Massey won 3xs, Freddy Smith won in 2015, and James Lastovic was nominated in 2017.  True O'Brien won the younger actress Emmy in 2016.  But, even that is confusing because they reference both men and women as victims of the casting couch, which leads me to think they were saying it is systemic, because they mention "producers and writers", rather than attributed to a single terrible person.

    • Justine had a lot of hooey in it, but she was an actual woman, not a guy in drag. She was a doppelganger of Rachel, French, having had a past history with Carl, etc. Two of the more outrageous parts-Justine bricking alive Vicky into a wall & Justine grinding the gears driving a big rig.
    • Hehe, twi/x actually x, formerly Twitter. Typically I find 2 sources for "crazy fan rumors" - the wrong parts of FB and x. Oy.
    • Not to hijack the thread, but was that character Justine? I just found this interview online with Logan and see what you're talking about - wow!   http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/chat85.html
    • My bad….ill fix that  Fixed
    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
