Michael Confronti was last at The Young and the Restless from 2012–2023. I do not believe he is presently employed by another soap. He has experience at General Hospital and worked during the Guza era. While Guza's tenure was inconsistent, he and his team were at least able to construct a storyline, so that could benefit the overall General Hospital canvas, especially since he's fi-core. Tomlin, however, is the obvious choice.

I'm unsure if he'd return or be asked to return since he worked under Jill Farren Phelps and went with her to The Young and the Restless after Ron Carlivati took over as Head Writer. We shall see. Speaking of Y&R, it and DAYS are currently the safest in terms of writing as Josh Griffith already went fi-core during the last strike and he let go all the breakdown writers so he's essentially already doing the work himself. And Days of our Lives is so far ahead that Dinosaurs have already been resurrected as the dominant species on Earth (Humans are just picketing in front of Hollywood studios to pass their day).

Days would be smart to just ride it out and film what is written then take a break. It would be silly to have someone else take over and disrupt the show when they’re already so far ahead. Unless of course it lasts too long and they begin to run out of scripts.

Y&R will likely not look any different. JG is used to stretching things out so he will likely not have any problems telling the same full stories.

B&B and GH are the ones I’m interested in seeing. The GH writers tend to stretch things out so I’m curious to see what a different voice would do with those characters. And of course on B&B we know how lazy Brad Bell is. The last strike was so refreshing with Kay Alden writing. I hope whoever takes over will give us something interesting to look at. This has been an awful year for them with very little happening. The show couldn’t be worse, so I’m hoping for another boost of energy like Alden gave them last time.

I'm in the WGA. I don't want to be out of work, but we need this strike. It's become almost impossible, with all the loopholes and trickery the studios have been using, to string together enough work to live even a very regular middle-class life in Los Angeles.

I heard about this yesterday. No matter what people say about the man and the Tonight Show feud between him and David Letterman, he's just an all around nice guy. I wasn't much of a fan of his show, but I'd take him back any day compared to the replacements.

The terminology might need some tweaking, but yes, Days will truly be there for all of our lives. Not sure if everyone would want that hanging over their shoulders for the rest of their lives, but it'll be there.

    • Sorry, I don't know the non-AW ones. In addition to the 2x Cass disguised himself as Krystle (1984 to hide from Tony Jones, 1994 investigating Felicia's disappearance), there was one occasion in October 1987 where Cass imposter Rex Allingham dressed as a woman and, claiming to be Nicole's Aunt Blanche, disrupted her date with another man. (At the time I don't think the audience yet knew that it wasn't Cass.)
    • THANK YOU SO MUCH. If there was any way we could sticky this post or make it so we don't forget where it is. I'm going to bookmark it for sure! AND WOW... Season 15 - nearly a whole month of skipped episodes. LOL.
    • JFP was only as strong as her writers, which is why her output got worse and worse when she decided she was the only writer anyone needed. They could have easily had a decent short-term story with Lando - maybe cast him as a terminal patient at Cedars, or a long-lost Bauer or Reardon who would leave town after his story is done and possibly return at a later date with a recast. He might become close to Ed and Michelle, similar to how Ed had taken Kelly under his wing years earlier. Maybe he could have been tied to Maureen's death, somehow - maybe we'd learn, after he ingratiated himself to everyone in Springfield, that he accidentally ran Maureen off the road during the storm. And when he realizes this he would, in shame, leave town, maybe leaving some Springfield lady devastated if they were about to get married (this could have worked with a better Mindy recast, or maybe a brand new character).
    • Notes I've made of skipped or faulty YouTube episodes are (I'll put in brackets the faulty ones, the rest are skipped episodes), that would be amazing if they could be replaced by higher quality Netherlands copies when they become available:

S13: 3170, 3172, 3181 (faulty), 3203 (faulty), 3223 (faulty), 3255, 3278 (faulty), 3345, 3361 (faulty) S14: 3399, 3455 (faulty), 3479 (faulty), 3509 (faulty), 3555 (faulty end credits), 3580, 3600 (faulty), 3613 (faulty) S15: 3658 (faulty), 3667, 3668, 3669, 3670, 3674, 3678, 3679, 3681, 3682, 3684, 3685, 3686, 3690, 3692, 3694, 3696, 3697, 3699, 3709 S16: 4058, 4059, 4109 S17: 4137, 4194, 4262, 4284, 4358, 4362, 4371 S18 so far skipped: 4450, 4451. There may be further S18 episodes to replace in English if there are any further skips on YouTube, as many episodes from this season are just in German in the vault, and if they skip those, then we probably have to wait for an eventual Netherlands airing unless someone currently has them in English (currently the German ones needing to replace to full English for S18 are: 4477, 4485, 4486, 4492, 4493, 4494, 4497, 4514, 4515, 4518, 4520, 4522, 4523, 4524, 4526, 4531, 4538, 4541, 4575, 4612 - hopefully YouTube will not skip these, and they won't be a problem to fix). Also, jumping ahead a bit to future seasons, but does anyone have full English speaking copies of any of 4852, 4897, 5275, 5308, 5590, 5591, 5594 (as these are not in full or at all in English in the vault as far as I can tell)? Many thanks if you do! A million thank yous to all Angels helping out with these.

    • I found the reference in the AWHP synopses -- it was 1995 but not directly related to the loanshark.

    • One of the dumbest situations (Lando) ever. What audience member is going to invest in a storyline with a recast they don't like and a triangle where one character is short-term? It bombed as it should have done. So much of JFP's tenure just reeks of desperation. I don't get how someone could produce SB (which did have flaws but was often brilliant) but make so many terrible mistakes at GL.   I still think JFP would have worked better as a director and music supervisor. Her music work at SB was top notch.  It just seems that Rea was minimized during JFP's tenure because I can't imagine her okaying so many of these casting choices.

    • We see the same with GH, where Mark Teschner, the casting director, reportedly has less say since Frank Valentini took over. Some producers want to take over every aspect of their shows.  I think Lando may have been a CBS push.
