Not sure who the director was but noticed some interesting choices.

Firstly in Tuckers'suite' there were some angles not usually shown, which made it appear a little larger.

Still think there should be a wall (with a cutout) leading into the bedroom area. That would immediately make that hotel room look more substantial.

On that subject, do they even bother to redress that room in any way to pretend it is a different suite?

Secondly, at both CL when Tucker encountered Victoria and at Society where Daniel and Phyll were chatting the cameras were kept in tighter shots so we didn't see the places were empty. Looked way better.

It's funny but when Nick asked Sally if she wasn't really sick but having morning sickness, he actually came off more like a concerned dad than her lover.

That or just pretend it never happened like with Adam.

I don't see why they couldn't have done a scene in the weeks preceding the episode where Michael and Lauren had brunch at Society and filled in Gloria and Kevin about Fen's coming out and then pretending that he texted them pictures etc.

The fact that there is no commentary on Nick (or Jack back when he and Sally were a thing) dating a woman nearly half his age speaks to just how toothless this show has become.

The Young and The Ageless. Because Y&R only has children and adults who could be anywhere between 25 and 45. Hard stop at 45. And that's being generous because Noah's 30 but his parents? 40.

The Jack thing was ridiculous. I don’t know if not mentioning the age gap was more an appeal to PB’s vanity or if they are simply completely out of touch with reality. Not even Phyllis brought it up (if memory serves me), and she totally would have if she were written truthfully and in character.

Back when characters had a point of view and personalities. Now they just commiserate, emphasis on the misery, about their employment status.

He's just suddenly gay. And I don't even think it was to generate buzz, they're just unimaginative. They're never going to use him so it's basically pointless.

No mention of Lauren sending the nude pic of Paul to the magazine. That was a big story back in the day.

Apparently Lauren doesn't know Sheila is alive. It makes zero sense because it would be all over the news. You'd think Eric Forrester would let her know too.

I think he's great, I will never say a bad word about him because he's one of the few who commit to the work even when it's terrible. Watching people like Michelle Stafford sabotage the material with her hammy nonsense or Joshua Morrow sleepwalk through every scene makes me respect him all the more.

That's because both shows are a mess now. I know Bill is rolling in his grave because one thing he made a constant was that B&B/Y&R would maintain continuity when it came to anything consisting of Sheila. However, that all went out the window when they did that crappy Pheila story and followed up with Ryder and Daisy. You'd think with Brad bringing her back on B&B that he'd do some cleaning up involving her story and recapture the magic his father created by doing a crossover story with Sheila on both shows. It makes no sense that Lauren would not know about Sheila walking free once again.

Not surprised. I hate when soaps just make characters insta-queer for shock value or a throwaway line. It is inconsiderate to those of us fans who are LGBTQ.

If had been a social climbing story, I would bought it, but it was treated like any other light romance between peers. It had shades of Victor/Sabrina (without committing to the story as much as JG did back then). These writers have made a lot of poor choices to accommodate Sally, and she could have been a good bitch/vixen if they’d allow it. But they don’t write that kind of stuff these days.

Nice to see Jill in the clips but she and Lauren being sisters was such a ridiculous story. So damn ridiculous that I forgot about it.

Seems like a lot of Lauren important moments are being left out.

I've never cared/liked her pairing with Michael.

    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.

    • I started a separate thread for the same tribute, but of course it can be discussed wherever. doesn't matter where. Fyi  Jason Cook, Staci Greason, and Eileen Davidson will be there as well as Reckell and some of the current cast Thread for Live tribute to Drake https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/68987-days-currentformer-actors-live-video-tribute-for-drake-hogestyn
    • Seeing Nicole and Martin together reminds me of watching Alice with Mickey Horton in the 90s and 00s. The seem more like peers than mother and son.  The younger half of the cast (35ish and below) is playing younger, and the older half (35+) is playing older.
