ARTICLE: ‘GMA3’ and CBS Game Shows Up Week-to-Week, ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Again Up Year-to-Year

“GMA3: What You Need to Know” (1.526 million) was up week-to-week and year-to-year in Total Viewers during the week of October 17-21, 2022. The ABC News program tied with the second half-hour of “The Price is Right” (4.434 million) for the third largest week-to-week gain, up +81,000 viewers, respectively. However, the first half-hour of the CBS game show (3.898 million) had the biggest week-to-week gain overall, adding +88,000 viewers. “Let’s Make a Deal” (2.713 million / 2.277 million) was also up week-to-week with the second half-hour enjoying the second largest gain, up +82,000 viewers.

For the second consecutive week, “The Bold and the Beautiful” (3.029 million) was up over its comparable performance during the same week last year, up +47,000 viewers, which was again the most of any daytime broadcast series. The soap also crossed the three million viewer mark for the second consecutive week and gained the most viewers overall compared to its performance in 2020 (+223,000 viewers). The only other shows to see increases over their 2020 performances were “The Young and the Restless” (3.427 million) and “General Hospital” (2.088 million), up +193,000 viewers and +114,000 viewers, respectively.

“General Hospital” was up week-to-week, gaining +44,000 viewers, and so was “The Talk” (1.473 million), up +30,000 viewers. The CBS talk show once again increased its lead over “NBC News Daily” (1.038 million), with 435,000 viewers separating the two programs and marking the biggest gap between them to date. Last week, the two were separated by 329,000 viewers.

What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of October 17-21, 2022 in Women 18-49 rating, Women 25-54 rating, Households and Total Viewers, including a look at their comparable performance in 2021 and 2020, respectively. A closer look at the daytime soaps, including their daily performance in the demos, will be posted on Thursday.

Note: “NBC News Daily” year ago and 2020 figures are compared to the performance of “Days of our Lives.”

Stop listening to “someone” especially in relation to Peacock, specifically DAYS on Peacock. 

Further, Nielsen itself only releases the Top 10 in movies and TV. That’s the only place where we get streaming numbers for the company. Peacock would have to do blockbuster numbers to ever get something in the Top 10. Currently it’s Netflix or Disney+ topping those lists with some Hulu and prime video mixed in.
