Wow. Not that surprised. They attempted this years ago with the Tonight Show 5 days a week - it was a huge flop. Right now, there's not much on at 10 p.m. L&O and last half season of NA.

For years the NBC related stations on cable would program things against primetime specifically in the 10 pm hour. I am surprised and not surprised by this idea especially after the Leno fail.

Anyone else seeing the rumors NBC wants to abandon the 10pm broadcast hour completely and give it back to local stations? Lord. LOL.

Who else can only handle so much news, even local?

I agree in the sense that news overload is killing daytime television. Stations these days have news from 3-7:30pm!

HOWEVER I support this move because prime time has been struggling for about the last decade. Broadcast networks must fill three hours of prime time Sun-Thu compared to cable and streaming who can just put something out when they have something good (even though they too have a fair share of s***ty shows).

I say give the affiliates 10 PM for news and either move the late night talk shows up to 10:35 or 11 PM Eastern. To avoid this being another "Jay Leno Show" 2010 situation, ABC and CBS might have follow suit -- and they should -- because primetime television is dying.

Where are the promos that Days is moving to Peacock soon? This has been handled so poorly which will not be good for Days in the long run! From the timing of the announcement, about a month before the big move, to radio silence at first and now no promotion. This will be the end of Days. How are regular NBC network viewers going to know about the move?

Oh god, Donna's at it again. NBC should let their viewers know where to find Days after it leaves the network. NBC needs to let the viewers know that Days will move to Peacock on Sept 12. Screencapping Peacock isn't going to alert the NBC viewers who have no idea what Peacock is or how to find it.

Nope. Nor did I say it was NBC saying or doing anything. Instead I just showed a simple illustration that they  have begun to do a little something on Peacock. OMG, what an overreaction to a simple post. Chillax, for god's sake.

Hmmm.  In my PC's browser window, it still says $4.99/month is the price for premium.  Maybe the pricing displays differently on different devices.

According to TV passport WNBC will be showing Dateline (syndicated daytime version) to make up for Ellen and DAYS' departures.

Dateline in daytime on an NBC station rather than the CW, My Network Tv or a small market Fox station. That's how you know local stations are running out of programming options.

    • You know what's crazy? Even though JFP ultimately has been a disaster at many soaps, and even though all the negatives about her are true, I'd still prefer her over Josh Griffith at Y&R. She can take over for him anytime, and I will applaud.
    • The baby was named when Roman was believed to be her father.
    • I gotta agree with Sami on this one. -- thanks @Franko for the source, that's a good find. I mean, not enough to sell the kid on the black market (pun intended) but.. At least it wasn't John who suggested it, that makes it cleaner.  Roman had naming rights until the christening cleared up the paternity.
    • Yea, at that time many people were complaining about replacing vet middle aged women with new character middle aged women...like Rauch and writers just ran out of ideas on how to write for anyone but that old bag Reva (sorry, loved Kimmer in her prime, but never understood why the ageist misogynist Rauch and Company made her goddess of love when her expiration date was long past...) We got Selena over Nola (but really so he could fire Fiona for their Zaz vendetta) and Carmen over Van.  But both Van and Nola got the last laugh, Van's wedding centering the last episodes and Nola returning for it and throwing a quick diss to the Coopers.
    • The Dalton story reeks of 10 rewrites.
    • Belle is indeed named after Isabella. It was Roman's idea. Courtesy the Oct. 22, 1993 synopsis found on Jason's site: "Roman suggests to Marlena that they call the baby Isabella and Marlena agrees. Sami isn't too happy when she overhears it but when they ask John he loves the idea. They toast to Isabella Brady."
    • Engaging for a moment with the topic with titan, Jill is a skilled line producer who maneuvered herself well and leveraged key veterans at various shows for maximized award potential even with lousy stories or taste. But she's never been the creative she fancied herself to be without talented writers behind her, and as an OLTL fan it was fitting to see her knocked down in power and influence after she nearly destroyed GH, the ABC flagship, in under a year when left to her own devices. (Megan McTavish may be insane but her comments about Jill and having to grudgingly write in Kale Browne three days a week at her behest were funny.) Like a lot of the industry she's got certain skills, but she also has a faded bag of tricks that has been mouldering since 1992. Which is a part of why it was such a hoot to see Jill appear out of the shadows like a leviathan in that video. Of course she's at it again. Who will be the next blonde white chick named Courtney in 2026? Riveting stuff for Gen Z.
    • Kat vs Eva is so complex because this feud goes beyond the typical 'good sister/bad sister' trope employed on soaps.  And the gist of the feud goes back to their father with Kat so insecure over not being the only daughter that she's going to lengths even Eva wouldn't go to in order to remove her sister. Kat is just like her aunt Dani in this regards (i.e. going too far even if in the right).
    • Just to confirm, Belle isn't named for Isabella Toscano, correct?  It would be nuts for John to name his daughter after his dead wife, after he wound up with Marlena, right? For example, I would think it uncouth if Joe Biden named a child he had with Jill Biden, after his first wife Neilia, who died tragically.

I was reading her wiki, when the thought came to mind.  But, I also have a vague memory that Belle was named after Beauty and the Beast's Belle, or some other lore. And Rachel's named after Kristen's mother, so this seems wrong.
