Preemptions due to hearings

Thursday June 23 has been changed to 3 pm Eastern.
A lot of sites still show the old time of 1pm but it's now 3pm.

And yes the remaining hearings will be in July after the House takes its break.

The hearing starts at 3pm Eastern. Thursday June 23.

Very few major markets get GH at 3pm Eastern
(examples: New York, Philadelphia, and North Carolina).

Most of the rest of the Eastern timezone gets GH at 2pm Eastern.  So most of the USA would see GH before the hearing starts.

However GH has decided to preempt today June 23.
(Maybe they didn't know the hearing was changed from 1pm to 3pm?)
Well anyways, they've officially called a preemption.

The annoying thing is this is now messing with my DVR settings. It didn't record Monday's Y&R, which aired, or GH's special episode yesterday. But it always records the hearings when the show is preempted, lol. I know I can watch the shows online but it's annoying.

I can gets Days both at noon and 1 pm. On Tuesday, I saw the Abe Paulina wedding at noon and the other NBC station also showed Days and not the hearings at 1 pm. And today, at about 1:03 pm, our NBC station switched to Days and cut off Lester Holt. I was surprised by that given the vast repercussions of what was going on in today's news.

Tues June 28:  CBS is airing the hearing.  B&B is preempted.
Los Angeles airs B&B later in the day so they are airing a rerun.
The LA station is airing a repeat of Steffy and Finn's wedding, from Friday, August 6, 2021.    They exchange vows and rings and are pronounced married. After the ceremony is complete, they begin the reception.  At the end of the episode, Finn steps aside to take medical phonecall and Sheila walks up to him and introduces herself as his mother.

GH was already pre-planned to be preempted today July 4th.  They planned to show a rerun of the 11/24/2021 Thanksgiving episode.

Days hasn't been preempted for news since 2014 or so.  Some areas got today's DAYS episode, I found the episode on youtube and dailymotion.  They'll just put it on Peacock tonight.

    • I'm not sure I agree with Bernstein's children on that. Bernstein's life and activism here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Bernstein#Social_activism_and_humanitarian_efforts
    • Thursday & Friday's episodes were excellent. The build-up was most definitely worth the wait (2 months). TMG, I can't give her enough accolades. AM, was also absolutely incredible. I think the fallout is going to have a ripple effect. The little clues that have been dropped,  hopefully, will weave seamlessly to reveal even bigger bombshells for the Dupree's and Martin.
    • Thanks, msn drives me nuts on the one hand but on the other hand their headlines appeal to me. And, I just don't do FoxNews.
    • The link doesn't work.  The actual link is this: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/composer-leonard-bernstein-s-children-request-his-music-be-played-in-the-kennedy-center-in-rebuke-to-trump/ar-AA1E7gw5 That's a reprint of a FoxNews article. MSN reprints stuff from many sources. You can tell the source from the logo above the headline on the msn page. The FoxNews article is describing what Leonard Bernstein's children wrote -- as a "letter to the editor" of the New York Times. Instead of reading it filtered through FoxNews, here is the original: "Our Dad, Leonard Bernstein, Would Want His Music Played at the Kennedy Center" https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/02/opinion/kennedy-center-leonard-bernstein-protest.html Non-paywall archived copy of the same NYTimes letter, without commentary: https://archive.is/QaLqD
    • Might be a long shot, because I can't find a thing online about it, but I was Googling the actress that played Nell Cleary (Frank's cop friend that went through academy and then became cops together during the entire Brent Lawrence storyline). To my surprise, she passed away in 2011, at the very young age of 45. I can't find her obituary or anything online about her passing, but I'm curious, does anyone know what happened? Her IMDB only shows a few other acting gigs post-Guiding Light, so she didn't make a career out of it, but I thought she was a great actress in her role as Cleary. Her name was Mary Peterson.
    • What was Ruth Martin's association to the Thornton family?  I only remember the daughter that dated Tad, and she had a buxom mother.  But, did Ruth date David Thorton before Joe?

Why didn't Steve respect Monica and Jeff's decision?  I get he's Jeff's father, and that's how it came out, but I don't like the ethics of the story. A stranger gets to make life or death decisions over a wife's demands?   I hope Monica secretly never forgave Steve's chauvinism.
    • Question: Jon-Michael Reed's review of 1977 is up in the retro soap section.  It includes a fleeting reference to comedic scenes between Jeanne Cooper and Julianna McCarthy regarding “Kay's would-be beau, Ralph the Plumber”.  Could someone please fill me in will more details? I forgot that Kay and Liz were friendly before Jill stole Kay's husband.  And the thought of Liz playing a comedic scene blows my mind, because I only recall her being dour both in demeanor and wardrobe.
    • I said this on Twitter on Friday when Leslie mentioned Chicago, so perhaps she might be related to one of Anita's bandmates. In addition, Leslie did say she grew up listening to The Articulettes too.
    • There was a scene in the past week or two with Leslie looking at some papers and mementos, which included an invitation or souvenir from Alan's memorial service or funeral -- it was dated as November 2024. Me just guessing but it seems to me that Martin's nightmares about the accident are from something longer ago than November.
