Agree about Allie and Tripp.

As much as I’m enjoying the storyline, part of me is a little pissed at Allie for cheating on such a great guy like Tripp

Pairing him with Joy or another character would be good though. He needs a love interest that’s not one of his cousins. I know there’s no blood relation, but it still counts.

And yeah, I just can’t with Nancy’s Shelley Winters wig

I think Tripp has such a dull vanilla personality and I can't imagine anyone being interested in him.  The only time he wasn't dull was when he was a horrible person holding a knife to Kayla's throat, and I don't want that Tripp either.

Chloe catching Craig calling "his patient" honey had me thinking. Do gay men and bi men on this board call their bf or male companion... honey? Then I recalled that on the Christmas movie that Sonny called Will honey.

You both know Rafe is actively on this show and has been for like 15 years lol?  Tripp is boring but in real life he's a totally catch.   He's a hot, nice, doctor that cares about people and has no problem raising other peoples kids and tries to actively get to know people in his girlfriends life.  Not a single person I dated in my 20's was half as much a catch as him lol.  I literally make fun of Tripp all the time, but Allie is doing him dirty right now.

Fair, but it doesn't make Tripp the dullest person on the show lol.  He sews okay?

I just don't think all hope is lost with Tripp.  He needs more of an edge, but he hasn't been actively boring us for a decade and half.  They could make him more a villian or he could slip into the Mike Horton sort of role.  Honestly the Allie/Tripp/Chanel/Johnny story is the first time I have been interested in him so we will see where it goes.

Agreed that Tripp is a little boring, but that's more on the writing than on Lucas Adams. But on the other hand, Tripp is really handsome and an all-around great guy, the type of guy that you would want to spend the rest of your life with.

But I also agree that the reveal of Allie and Chanel should make him a little darker or give him more of an edge. His change just needs to be more subtle, rather than becoming a full-on psycho.

Even if Tripp gets jaded about love and unwilling to open up to his future new girlfriend Joy Wesley lol.  Or he could start being self destructive and turn to drinking or he could become a manwhore and we can watch shirtless Lucas Adams run around town sleeping with all Salems ladies.  I wouldn't want him to change himself entirely.  Soaps need good guys like him.

    • Overall I was impressed with this week and fall out from the revealation.  I am looking forward to seeing the Nicole/Dana showdown next week.  I do wonder if June is going to be tied to Hayley.
    • I thought Adam and Sara got married? Although I do not remember any mention of her when Adam returned for Blake's weddings. But MA certainly got the short end of the stick storywise, as Marland's obsession with therapy reared it's head.
    • Didn’t Meg Bennett return to SFT as a writer in the last few years. I always wondered if they tried to get her back as Liza.
    • Millette Alexander got the short end of the stick once they killed off Joe. The Justin thing was a non-starter. Then she was briefly married to Alan's corrupt lawyer and HE was killed off. She was paired briefly with Adam and that ended because she believed Holly over Roger about the rape. Definitely, Marland had zero interest in her except as the therapist for the many, many of his female characters who needed therapy. It's not odd she left the show. One of the rare 1978 episodes on YT shows Alan going to Cedars for a physical check-up. He ends up with Sarah as his doctor. In between making mysoginistic comments about women doctors, he also openly flirts with her. It's very obvious they were chem testing Sarah and Alan. It's a really good scene. Bernau is both obnoxious and charming and Millette is amazing, trying to be pleasant and profesional without rolling her eyes at him, but at the same time maybe a LITTLE bit attracted to him. An interesting what-might-have-been. So it appears the Dobsons were actively looking for someone to pair her with, they just never found the right one for a long-term story.

    • First, let me say I love reading all of your takes and thoughts. They always provide a different point of view... a breath of fresh air... in this sometimes stuffy topic.

You've inspired me to add my 2 cents about this product placement debacle.  I absolutely HATE the way they are doing product placement in BTG. I really hope this doesn't catch on or evolve into more and more of these moments. It's incredibly off-putting to place them in a highly dramatic moment where we are still on the emotional journey with the character. What is next - Dani spraying the house while having a nervous breakdown? It makes me not want to buy the product they're selling. LOL. That's just me.
    • I always get the vibe that Martin/Smitty have an emotional abusive relationship set up... but I doubt the show will really go there with that element given that Martin is a Dupree (and we can't have the Duprees be portrayed in a negative light), and because it's a gay male relationship.   Even though abuse in the physical or emotional sense is a huge thing in a lot of gay and lesbian relationships. The Ashley/Naomi scene reads off to me for one reason....  Ashley was talking about the new scandal without any sort of mention and/or subtext.. considering she knew both Silk Press Sheila and Eva.  I'm not sure if the writers have forgotten, if Jen Jacobs isn't able to play subtext, or what.   It's just apparent the writers do not know how to write a young white millennial couple.. and perhaps they need to get a younger white script writer to be on staff... or let the actors play around with the lines to make them more natural/realistic.
    • This is as good a time as any to point out that the 90 minute show was, what I like to call  "cockamamie idea" of Fred Silverman, head of NBC Daytime Programming. He did so well at ABC & CBS but not so NBC. We learned this from a WOST interview with Pete Lemay, 2006, can be found on YouTube, audio only. Now, to be clear, Rauch was completely behind it. Only Lemay fought against it & eventually quit over it.
