I agree that my pessimism after the infuriating limp noodle rushed way they returned Sonny turned out not to be warranted (making that bungled week of crucial episodes even weirder) and I have mostly liked the fallout and how they have paced things quite smartly.
Could have done without inserting Peter into the mix but they are doing just enough to make Sonny/Nina still feel viable while understanding they need to take their sweet time breaking up Sonny/Carly.
I didn't even need Carly and Jason to sleep together if they didn't want to go there but I still think the return scene was ridiculously rushed and the way they handled the Carly/Jason part of the equation sucked a lot of potentially good drama out of it. Missed opportunity.
And while the Nina trial thing is ridiculous to anyone who knows anything about the law, knowing that smug Michael is headed for a serious fall when the bribe is revealed makes it worth it.
I am not engrossed by GH right now but this is easily the part where my ears perk up.

I have zero interest in Epiphany and Curtis's hat daddy.

Lucy can't stop thinking about Martin's dick! I love it.

The men were looking good in that yoga class. I love Brooklyn dreaming about Chase. I totally get it lol.

I love how they're trying to write Michael as tough. It's so funny. Duell isn't capable of doing anything but making that one constipated face. I hollered when Michael said, "Scott won't be fine once I'm done with him." What is Michael going to do, throw one of Wiley's blocks at him? Please.

Scott has been fantastic. I love watching the Corinthos family sh-t their pants in court. I'm not looking forward to Carly screeching, but I'm ready for the drama (hopefully we get drama).

Ken did such a wonderful job with such dreadful material.  The trial and political contribution line of questioning was horrendous.  But...the look on Carly's face and Sonny with the "who me" face left me in tears.  I was laughing and rewinding for a while.  I wish this had been a NYE party reveal so the town could see but we have to settle for the below par mess Frank offers.  Oh well.

The Michael is tough and has a temper thing has been going on for at least a decade.  DG's Michael seemed like a rage monkey, but once they cast Duell as Michael and kept him as a tough guy getting into fights it never worked.  CD has never been believable as scary or threatening.

I used to laugh in 2010 ish when Michael was getting into fights and on the verge of getting kicked out of school and telling us the kids in school were scared of him.  Young Chad looked like a hangdog puppy that needed a hug 99% of the time lol.   Spinelli seems more threatening than Duell's Michael.   I know CD has to pay for his multiple quickie divorces, but I think it's time to recast.  It would be lovely to find an actor who has chemistry with a single women on the cast.

    • You’d think he would’ve learned after the way Sprina took off.  I hope we get a proper Emma/Gio/Trina/Kai quad, as friends, romantic rivals, etc. In the few scenes that the four of them have had together, I felt like there was a natural chemistry between all of them, similar to the way that Cam/Spencer/Trina/Joss was, in the beginning.  And, it would be a lot better than all this stuff with Kai’s surgery.
    • Hooray we made the exact same critique to Londonscribe!!!!!
    • I don't think they had any idea who he was this time last year. I think they were keeping their options very open. Same with totally dropping the Trina romance that was spoiled for him in the mags once FV clearly took a shine to him. Frank's priorities are bright and blazing in one color. I do think Gio and Emma seem to have worked out given that she is very dry and sarcastic and he is like a hot golden retriever, but I'd still play the field or explore quads with both with very different people - Emma with a scheming young man (of color), Gio with possibly Trina or someone else, or even a boy. Then maybe put them back together, who knows. But of course none that will happen.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
