Yeah I am fine with it.
First Donna was the best pairing Eric had post-Stephanie IMO.
Second they actually, wait for it, TELEGRAPHED it for weeks and planted the seeds for that reunion so, for once, B&B actually gave us a twist that made sense AND that they had prepared - heck Donna's missing Eric has been a thing for years so it was actually, wait for it, in character.
The actual scene was, well, campy but I am just going to sit back and enjoy one of the few times where B&B tells something they seem to have planned out rather than thought at the last minute.
And the fact that with Carter sent in Katie's direction, it leaves Quinn stranded in a way that could be interesting story-wise.

So for all my complaints I am not mad at it. Between that and the fact Deacon/Sheila seems to work - I wanna wait until the actual plot to determine whether it does work - and the fact we had a variety of storylines moving in parallel, I wanna recognize this was one of the more competent weeks of B&B we have had in a long long long time.
If they could combine this basic competence at soap-storytelling with those campy moments they'd have pure gold. Right now it is more a rusty bar covered in cheap metal with a glimpse of the gold underneath peeking here and there when Bell bothers to scratch the surface.

I’m still playing catch up. Paris’ fantasy with Finn and the sunblock was tew much.

Quinn’s, “For crying out loud, Shawna. What are you, the door police?” lives in my head rent free.

Not to overthink this but I don't think that's quite right.

It is saying that what sometimes people assume is a physical-issue ED turns out to be simply a lack of desire for a specific person or a specific situation that people, for other reasons, don't realize is happening. If you think yourself sincerely in love with someone and you genuinely rationally feel they are attractive, it can be complicated to realize your body's non-reaction.
It was a reasonable assumption that Eric's problems were ED because of his age but it turns out it was psychological. That's an error that happens a lot more than you think.
Psychological factors are responsible for about 10%-20% of all cases of erectile dysfunction and it is still considered ED.
Of course I don't expect the show to be thoughtful on how they address this - clearly there was a way for Eric to realize his ED was linked to Quinn in another way than a campy honey tryst - but it is neither medically inaccurate, nor issue-offensive.
It would be interesting to explore why Eric's desire for Quinn has gone despite him feeling still in love with her but they are not going to go there. They are going for camp and giggles coz sex is funny, I guess.

But I maintain, against the grain, that the storyline is not inherently offensive or degrading and that, told properly, it could have been as interesting as a cancer storyline or whatever.

Finn and Hope as innocent chess pieces whom Sheila and Deacon are moving around—it’s a cool idea. I’m not hopeful about the execution, though. And please no more Liam/Steffy nonsense as a result, but you know Brad won’t be able to resist.

I really don't need the character in any capacity, to be honest...

I was hoping that Eric would lose "it" with Quinn, hahahaha.

Now Carter's moved on too. A Sheila/Deacon/Quinn triangle would be fun.

I love Sheila and Deacon and he's the sane and moral one, but I hate that all they can think of is to involve Sheila in the eternal triangle.

It is so funny because I think just a couple of weeks ago I was posting here how, unlike everyone else, I had some fondness for Krista Allen despite the fact she is not the best actress around

Gorgeous woman if anything. Not sure why to recast a character like Taylor though, Sheila story notwithstanding.

    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.

    • I started a separate thread for the same tribute, but of course it can be discussed wherever. doesn't matter where. Fyi  Jason Cook, Staci Greason, and Eileen Davidson will be there as well as Reckell and some of the current cast Thread for Live tribute to Drake https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/68987-days-currentformer-actors-live-video-tribute-for-drake-hogestyn
    • Seeing Nicole and Martin together reminds me of watching Alice with Mickey Horton in the 90s and 00s. The seem more like peers than mother and son.  The younger half of the cast (35ish and below) is playing younger, and the older half (35+) is playing older.
