Yeah, Rafe can just be a detective with some snark. I'm good with that.

Tripp is so watered down and they're wasting him. He's Austin. The world is going on around him and his head is in the clouds. LOL. Such a letdown.

I guess I should try to watch yesterday's and today's to get a sense of the current plotlines lol.

And Ron does not write edgy men unless they're killers, quasi-rapists or other villains snarking on the rest of the normie characters. That's been his style for a long time, it's not new. The women are the focus along with the outsize villains/eccentrics or antiheroes. This is the same way it went at GH (and to a lesser extent, OLTL) when layered male leads lost all definition and became dupes. All other men are reduced to hapless, oft-naked hunks on par with Austin's worst years.

And therein lies MM's problem.  She is good and does great with her material, but Belle should be a lead and Martha just lacks something to be a lead.   She is just sort of bland

Honestly I don't think she show is invested in Belle no matter who is in the role. Look how awful they write Brady and he's a lead and even Phillip, two IMO completely unrootable characters

They definitely don't feel invested in Belle or Shawn. And having a teenage daughter didn't help. Especially when they were off-screen for most of ORK's run. Ron seems to want them around but the investment definitely isn't there. Why aren't Eli and Lani and Belle and Shawn friends? Abby/Chad/Eli/Lani/Belle/Shawn would be an interesting grouping. Not saying swap them, just friends.

He's just a troll. Nobody in their right mind thinks that a YouTube "career" is onward and upward, especially when Freddie's videos only get about 1000 views each. Nor is anybody in their right mind paying money to watch "exclusive" YouTube content of Freddie and his wife. The stuff they post for free isn't even good. Maybe if you pay the monthly fee you get to hear Freddie talk some more about how he's jealous of Zach Tinker?

Today's show looks so boring that I don't even have the motivation to turn it on.

Didn't Lani and Shawn date?  And she was in love with him, but he dumped her for Belle?  I vaguely remember this happening awhile ago but that's never been spoken of since so?

Belle and Shawn have been made to be lame.  They lack something both of their parents had/have and I don't think it's the performers fault.  They need a super villian or adventures and they don't get that.  Plus, MM/BB don't have much chemistry.

I don't care for Belle and unfortunately Shawn is mainly seen as her appendage these days.  Shawn and Eli are cousins but I'm not sure that's ever acknowledged.  Shawn should be around for whatever is happening with Doug (especially since Hope will be a no-show unless there is a recast), but the last time Shawn mentioned him, he referred to him by his first name, rather than Grandpa.

The Days Episodes airing now were filmed in May when CM was in Atlanta and do a scene like did with Johnny and then Allie, a zoom call makes sense

Beyond Salem was filmed late July and Chandler came to LA to do those 5 episodes and is open to coming back.

Yes Lani was into him but he got backtogether with Belle. I believe this was before Lani originally left Salem

Then she came back with the secret that her & JJ had screwed around

    • I did not care, just clarifying that was the discussion point. If there are ice cream bars in Statesville I am sure there is a full spa
    • Seeing Peter Bergman (Jack) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) act opposite each other really makes me mad that their short-lived reunion in 2012 was just that... short-lived. I've always loved the Jack/Nikki pairing.
    • No.  I recall there was also a mention about how distracting it was EOB's Gwen wasn't wearing nail polish as well.  That it was someone's pet peeve. And, yes, the fact characters can have a manicure in prison is the wildest continuity issue here.
    • Can anyone remember Mary Ellen Stuart's run as Jenny? I'm trying to fill in the cracks for missing stuff that we overlooked.  Bulletpoints:  * Dated Ross * Rusty's police partner * Directly responsible for Dinah coming forward about George Stewart (Cam's father)
    • But that's not weird... nail polish is allowed in prisons via commissary. Same with general makeup, haircuts, and hair colouring products.
    • This is DAYS, the show that said you could brainwash anyone with simple kitchen appliances.  An actor's nail polish or lack thereof should be the least of our concerns, lol.
    • It was not that she wasn't wearing nail polish, it is that she managed to get a manicure in prison
    • "We're Knot Done Yet": the name of this lovely podcast AND what JVA tells her plastic surgeon at every appointment. In other news, Michele Lee is reminding me more and more of my old music teacher from elementary school, and I couldn't STAND that bitch.
    • I apologize if this has been covered already, but does anyone know whether Douglas Marland was HW'ing by that point?  If he was, then I see what he meant when he said (in so many words) that he had inherited a mess when he started at GH.  Aside from Alan and Monica, none of that material seems very promising.  The story with Mark Dante and the Corbins is the wrong kind of predictable (y'know, the kind where you know what's going to happen, but you just don't give a crap?), the stuff with Scotty and Laura is cute but toothless, I don't know WHAT the hell Gina and Steve Carlson's character are arguing about and Rick Webber has to be the dumbest man alive not to see David Hamilton twirling his invisible moustache over how to make a killing off Lamont Corbin's declining health.  (By the way, "LAMONT CORBIN"?  What is this, "The Shadow"?  And "Corbin Limited" sounds like some jive I'd hear over on Y&R.) In a way, it's kind of like watching today's GH, right down to the dialogue that's serviceable and pushes plot along but says nothing about the characters' inner lives.
    • It absolutely was; the narrative was there, and they followed it promptly. Maybe that's back when women had babies at young ages?!?!?
