So by that article and given that GH had the week of July 5 off & maybe the week before, they are already filming episodes that air this September

Trying to catch up to Days prod schedule I guess

I hate to say it but I kinda like Anna and Valentin. I'm shocked. I know. I never thought I would. But Valentin has come a very long way. Somehow he was salvaged, IMHO. I credit James Patrick Stuart and his charm and chemistry with that too.

Sam and Elizabeth make sense as friends. Not BFFs of course but a "having each other's backs" kinda thing. Robin can be their third

I mean, let's be honest though, Sam as a character was used to kick Elizabeth to the curb. JMO. But I liked their scenes.

Jason looked miserable as Carly wrapped her arms around him. This sums up Jarly perfectly. PERFECTLY. I LOVED Britt's attitude towards them. Jax can be shoved off the balcony for all I care but I loved him reading Carly for filth.

I don't think Cam/Joss have any chemistry, sorry LOL. The boys have always had chemistry with each other and the girls with each other. Just saying.

I've always wondered how far ahead they are. I knew it wasn't super far ahead but I could never ever remember, so good to know. I kinda figured it out when Mathison posted he was starting to film.

All DAYS can afford is a kiddie pool. Probably not even that! LOL

I appreciate the effort lately with the sets.

It's true

Since removing Nina from Valentin's orbit.. I've been enjoying the character more. Finola Hughes and James Patrick Stuart have palpable chemistry. I'm still irked the darkness Valentin was meant to harness was never brought to light during Stuart's time in the role.

It was nice seeing them working together instead of against each other.

Maybe instead of Kyle/Noah on Y&R, I can get Cam and Spencer on GH. Would explain why they always battled over Joss: they wanted each other, lol.

I'm pretty sure [most] soaps, aside from DAYS, are usually six-to-eight weeks tape-to-air. I know [sometimes] GH can advance film to allow for extended summer breaks for the cast, which they seem to be on currently.

All I can think about is when Y&R introduced their limited-two summer rooftop set... and the pool was alluded to. This looks ten-times better.

I do, too. Which new set (or newly remodeled) set has been your favourite?

In terms of sets, I appreciated the exterior of the hostage house. I liked the new restaurant set too but they stopped using it. I wonder if they're using it and the walls to make the pool area? The walls look the same just painted tan.

I feel like the Q set and Corinthos house remodels left me feeling mixed. Almost forgot about the remodel of where Willow is living. It was nice having that set back.

It was nice seeing Kelly's trotted out. I think they probably should cut the restaurant/bar sets down though (obviously The Tan-O will eventually go away or be reused). I know it's easy places for folks to meet but it's been nice seeing a bit more variety like the dock, etc.

So I guess I'll pick the pool set as my favorite new set lol.

I miss the old dock set.

Kinda rambling about sets, LOL ...

Finola and James do have chemistry. It helps a lot.

Anyone else kinda tired of the current hospital set? It's a far cry from where it once was in the big remodel and I still kinda miss the old round hub.

I don't think the Bernadino's set is gone; it's probably just rested for the time being. But I do love that set.

Why did they leave you feeling mixed, if you don't mind my asking?

I like the re-introduction of Kelly's lately. I'm also loving the remodeled PCPD, including the interrogation room.

I love the old round hub too. Plus they had an area where people could sit down. And have inappropriate public conversations. Which Amy would overhear. LOL  On present day GH there's no such area. So when characters have conversations. It's very awkward. But over all i still like the GH set. It's way better than Days rinky dinky Nurses Station. Which looks like it's falling apart at the seams.

Poor Days doesn't have many places. Where people can socialize. Besides the overused empty Square. Would love to see the residents of Salem in nice sets. Good production values matter. Soaps are a visual medium after all.

The way Cade McWatt's Cameron played off his scene with Garren's Oscar, I thought Cameron could be Bi

Then I thought Dev was gonna be gay which would have been cool to tell of a gay turkish teen but they changed to he wants Joss and then becoming obsessed and then being killed off

sad to say esp with Frank as eP, I doubt GH would do a true LGBT romance

Other than token stories for Lucas, GH has never and will never care. It's telling that the most airtime a "gay" storyline ever had on this show was months of comic relief about a gay man desperately trying to rape a straight man.

Felix and Lucas supposedly went out on a date, and we've received no follow up. Also, Kristina's sexuality is a no-mention piece of information at this point, too.

When Joss and Cam tank (set your watch), Spencer will realize he wants Joss.  Trina will gladly step aside.

Wherever Trina goes, there's a buzz- the girl has got IT, but instead of capitalizing on it, Frank moves Joss in to replace Trina.  But I won't hate the Frank, the player.  The entire game is rigged!

oh hell to the NO. Trina would need to tell Joss to get the F out. Plus Im sorry but Joss is the weak link here. I think they need to eventually recast. Or maybe keep her and have Emma return kind of a hell cat like AMC's Amanda Dillon when Chrisell Stause started playing her

    • Ted also stays at the hotel and Vernon is probably aware of that. As much as Ted wants to be back in Nicole's good graces he might feel obligated to tell if he saw Vernon coming out of a woman's room since keeping secrets got him in so much trouble before.
    • One more thing on Tuesday's episode, did anyone else notice the weird blocking? Belle and Eric were thanking Sarah, and worrying about Lyme Disease (which must be a red herring, I can't believe we're watching a PSA about inspecting for tics).  Then, Belle turned to EJ and threatened him with a lawsuit.  EJ acted as if he hadn't heard the entire conversation that was happening two inches away from him.   I like EJ, but a little of silly/mean EJ goes a long way.  His sarcasm during that scene felt out of place, regardless of Eric's presence.  When he bugs his eyes, and feigns innocence, it is a little too OTT for my taste.  I understand that he was the punching bag for most scenes, but EJ feels more mature than resorting to funny faces.  Isn't rather quick to worry about Stephanie's sales, she just debuted the book yesterday in their timeline?  And why is everyone against Jada and Theo?  Jada could use a boytoy, and this doesn't feel like a "forever" romance.
    • I dont think he knew Leslie was staying there. I know this is all for the drama and mess which Im here for, but Vernon really could have easily rented a small studio space where he and Sharon could practice lol.
    • I understand that no one could ever replace Bernau, but Ron Raines is somewhat of a different beast. Still great (to me) though. He spent his entire TV run in one role, that was impossible to do justice correctly.
    • Again, Bernau's illness impacted that. It's pretty obvious Pilon was always meant to be temporary. I read an article from that period that said he was working on both Ryan's Hope and GL at the same time. So he wasn't on contract for either show. (Maybe that explains somewhat why his performance was so low energy, because he was overworked doing two soaps). Later, they put him in the opening and in commercials for the show. That must have been because they were certain Bernau was not returning. Around that time, they approached Zaslow about being the permanent replacement for Bernau. He turned them down and suggested coming back as Roger. Pilon stayed so they could re-introduce Roger and write an exit for Alan. I'm guessing if MZ had not wanted to come back, they would have had no choice but to keep Pilon (which I don't think they wanted, or maybe Pilon wasn't interested) or send out a casting call for a new Alan. I think they wanted to avoid that because they were really determined not to let the nature of Bernau's illness to become public knowledge. At this point, they were still keepin up the fiction that he was going to return even while this stuff was happening BTS.   Yeah, it seems crazy now, but people forget how stigmatized AIDS was back then. I'm convinced the idea to ask Zaslow to take the role came about so they could replace Bernau as quietly as possible. Everyone would have been so surprised it would have taken the focus off Bernau not returning. It makes a kind of twisted sense. Still, thank goodness Zazlow said no and they said yes to his suggestion to return as Roger. The way everything worked out gave GL a few more strong years. I guess it's the nature of soaps, you never know what things in real life will end up strongly impacting the show, both negatively and positively. (Something just occurred to me. If Zazlow HAD said yes to playing Alan...he would have had to play being in love with Reva.

    • I truly do not understand why this has not happened. It's so un-Carly-like not have confronted Joss already.
    • He definitely had it going on back in the day
    • I have long given up on logic and Mayor Laura Collins! It makes about as much sense as Luke being elected mayor over Lee Baldwin in the 80’s, maybe even less sense. She committed manslaughter as a teenager, was involved with a mobster (I guess credit for them taking Smith down), had a shoot out in her home and killed another mobster in self defense, thought she bludgeoned her stepfather to death, then was catatonic for years. Her current husband had a twin that was a serial killer, had his own breakdown that threatened lives, and most recently hid his brother for treatment and that allowed Ryan to escape and kill again. And had hook killer Esme as a houseguest and is raising her child. I don’t care for Sonny anymore but their relationship is just another thing that involves suspension of belief to watch the show. I wish someone on this show would remind these adults that they used to pull way worse stuff than this! I would love a scene where Laura is sitting with Lulu and tells her while she is not happy this is nothing compared to what she got up to when she was young, and maybe even some understanding that she would also do stupid stuff if she believed in the cause. Olivia reminding Dante that he was wild as a teen and this isn’t that. Felicia reminding Anna that they were being shot at when pretty close to Emma’s age. These characterizations are just so basic. Have some fun with the actual history of the show. That kind of wink would mean more to me than just name dropping some random fact.
    • There are no dumb questions here, we've all known each other long enough to fill in information without shaming each other.  We want you to be happy @carolineg.  Your POV as one of the few women here is vital. So, please, I hope you never feel as if any question, idea, or opinion is ever silly or stupid.  Your daily reminders about the realities of manicure and menstrual management has become a part of the personality of this thread. As for Hank, while I'm confident there's a plan in place.  It is frustrating that they announce these casting so far in advance that it is tough as an audience and wait it out until the thing happens.  I'm happy they didn't blow it the second Mike was in town, a week after meeting Liam. So, it is a slow burn. And, conveniently, he lets us know when his episodes air.

Speaking of silly stuff, is anyone bothered by the placement of Tony's pocket on his shirt?  It is so odd that whatever bargain bin they found it, would choose to place a huge black pocket over the floral design?
