I don't get this Cin story.  Why isn't Ben more happy that his wife is alive?  I know she doesn't remember him, but shouldn't he be happy she is alive and let her recover and regain her memories slowly?  Why is he forcing her?  It's almost creepy.  Her being alive and not remembering you is a bummer, but Ciara being dead is worse lol.  Also, why is Marlena getting involved with this when John has a more pertinent crisis currently happening?  It's really stupid.

You mean, former serial killer has trouble with being controlling and being respectful to women's psychological and physical space?

You don't say.
But here is the thing: if it was intentional and they chose to revisit his psychology in an honest way, tying this reaction back to his past, it might actually be interesting. I'd love to see Marlena confront him about it and him reckon with how much of who he was, he still is and be conflicted about it. That's a character-driven story and even with a serial killer, you can write good drama out of it.

But that's not it.
They are writing it because they think it is romantic. That his impatience is out of love and we are supposed to swoon he misses his Ciara or something. That a woman who does not remember her man is not herself.
Bite me.

I just binged the enter season to date during the past month. MM definitely benefited from better writing and a new approach. I do believe that Abby is in an alter. What would've been great:  if Gwen is actually protecting Abby, who showed up to the room and got into an altercation with Dr. Laura and accidentally pushed her.

So Chanel drives from Miami to see her mom, but wasn't there for christening. Did they establish that Paulina was actually moving to Salem permanently? I just got that she wanted to invest there. It was strange for Paulina to direct Chanel to 'pound the pavement' to find a job there - as if knocking on doors, help wanted signs have been relevant since the 1990s. And why didn't Chanel question Paulina about staying in 'Springfield' permanently? Odd set-up, but both characters have potential.

It's too bad that Victor can't have scenes with Ciara. I always liked their scenes, but it's understandable. Clare as a doe-eyed ingenue just doesn't work - this is combo of writing and actor.

Please make Ben Marlena's kid. Seriously. If Cin can have a psychic connection, then the 'unspoken' mom-son bond that caused Dr. Marlena Evans to throw all logic out the window regarding Ben would be somewhat plausible.

Totally.  If Ben was showing signs of psychological issues or something it would be fine, but it's played like a romantic love story.  And Ben is the injured party.  Just give the girl some space.  He's not even really taking the time to access the situation before making Marlena hypnotize her, which Marlena should not have done.

Gross.  Please no.

It's a bit hard to imagine they'd cancel it with co-vid still around, but I guess they could surrender the slot to affiliates?

With that said, last time around production got shut down and everyone got released from their contracts, so who knows if they'll let it happen again just to try and get it even cheaper than last time.

    • So yesterday I wandered off on a tangent about Elvis Presley, off the top of my head. Probably no one cares but I want to correct facts. Elvis Presley did have a twin who was stillborn. They named him Jesse Garon Presley & in a level of their emotional life he was very real to Elvis's mama & to a lesser degree to Elvis himself. I will now return you to your regularly scheduled discussing post-Ron prattle.
    • They are the absolute stars for me. I’m delighted every day that my feelings about them from the special on the show, turned out to be that and so much more. I genuinely feel episodes are better when they’re featured. This cracked me the hell up especially with Leslie listening

. This episode was so good, I will be rewatching when I get home tonight. THIS was classic soap opera.
    • I can barely remember who was the person they tested her with for the AMC revival but I *do* remember kinda liking them together (anyone remember better?  lol)  But yes, I feel the same.  It might not help that when I became a regular viewer Tad was presumed dead and she was with Craig...  I do remember that my sister's best friend had been an AMC viewer with her mom and dad and that they were very excited that Tad was returning... OK I instantly remembered that.  And now once again I'm sad about what coulda been with the reboot.
    • Well, that is weird. I do not see him but I only have him on Ignore on 2 accounts.
    • In the preview for the show back in February on Entertainment Tonight, Jeresa the costume designer was specific about each character's economic background, personality, and the character's personal fashion preferences.  Very much about the characters and not the actors. She said Eva is a thrifter, so her normal daily wardrobe would be something from a thrift store, and if BTG buys it new, they intentionally make it look used. So what you said fits about the type of thing a lower income person would buy for a fancy event.
    • As hard as it is for me to imagine anyone but Don Stewart as Mike Bauer...I dunno...maybe someone like "Adam-12"'s Kent McCord?  Or Robert Hogan?
    • Yep I don't hate Javi and then he's macking on Leo and I'm done with him. Leo is a failure who needs to go away   I am bracing myself for Alex reading the manuscript and imagining him and Stephanie as the main characters, because this couple has literally nothing else to do until Joy comes back showing
    • Oh yes. The towel scene though
    • Interesting that Donald May has been mentioned twice. He's on my dreamcast list for Alan. He was somewhat older than Stewart and Bernau, but he could have played either role. An actor I thought about for Mike was Dan Hamilton. He played a role on GL during the 60s, but enough time had passed that it shouldn't have been a problem. He usually played smarmy characters but it would have been cool if they had gone against typecasting.
