Y&R is dusting off old Phyllis/Abby antics for this Phyllis/Sally feud. With Sally’s threat to hit Phyllis “where she least expects it,” it appears they’ll pivot from Sally pursuing Jack to Sally going after Nick. Nick doesn’t have a story beyond Faith, and Sally/Jack has been poorly received (due to their own poor execution, of course—you can’t play a May/December romance like that these days without playing the necessary beats, or people will be grossed out).

Clearly, folks are getting vaccinated (?) or guidelines have been loosened, as we’ve now seen Billy/Lily and Devon/Amanda lock lips.

I didn't catch it because I'm only half paying attention and it's incredibly rare for me to be watching the day it airs. That's funny. They didn't even need to reshoot, they could have just cut "grand" in post-production. They really don't care!

I just watched today's Canadian episode.  I kind of feel bad for Sally.  I honestly believe that she's trying to be a better person, but old habits die hard.  It's tough living away from home.  I just wonder what she's gonna do next.  I was in a similar situation 10 years ago.  Maybe Gloria and Sally will become friends.   Sally needs a motherly figure in her life right now.  She literally has no one.

I'm glad that Jack and Sally are done now. He was old enough to be her father. It was kinda creepy. What the heck did they have in common besides being human?

I am really enjoying the new Moses. He is delightful and very cute. He definitely comes across as a real and good teenage boy. He has good chemistry with Devon and Nate. I enjoy seeing him bond with them, especially Devon. It was nice to see him and Devon bond more about Neil and Devon trying to help him learn more about Neil, by telling him more about his love for Jazz music on today's episode. I am also enjoying him with Faith. I am looking forward to seeing him interact with Lily and I hope that is soon. I could see them being close and her being protective, mama-ish towards her baby brother (like a lot of big sisters are towards considerably younger siblings).

I like how Sally stood up on the step to level up to Phyllis.

I wonder if Sally will play on Nick’s already-voiced insecurities about Phyllis’s relationship with Jack and weasel her way in. To me, their rivalry is the only story the show has with real tension.

I have bitched since the beginning that my problem with that story is that the show TOLD us Summer/Phyllis disliked Sally intensely but we were never given a proper reason other than "on first sight" which is hardly the spark of historic feuds.
That being said, lame as that was, NOW Sally has a reason to be pissed off so I might be more invested in the next twists of the back-and-forth.

And may I suggest Y&R casts Sally's mom (who I don't think we have heard anything about) with Sarah Buxton? A wonderful actress who I have been saying looks like she would be Courtney Hope's mom and would be a more age-appropriate match for PB's Jack.
Then put Sally and her mom against Phyllis and this is the war of the fiesty redheads and I am into it.

    • IIRC, FC reruns aired for awhile on Lifetime, way before the network became the Women in Peril Channel, lol.
    • PAM!! YES!!! You have jogged my memory. She worked at Cedars. She's mentioned in a write-up of Tim's history in the show. It says she was a nurse, but I seem to remember she was a secretary at Cedars, working for either Ed or Sarah. (It's almost 50 years ago, so I definitely could be wrong). I'm certain she was an unwed mother. I recall reading an interview with the actress, Maureen Silliman (I looked it up, that's her correct name, LOL). She started on the show just before the Dobsons started writing it. She was shocked to get a script that said her character had been pregnant since she hit town. I remember a scene where she told Tim she was going to leave SF for a better job for her daughter's sake (really, I think she was upset he was serious about Rita). I don't remember them getting married and leaving town, but according to "Who's Who in Springfield" that's how the characters were written out. Mattson did All My Children for several years, so she might have been persuadable. Here's an interesting factoid I recently learned on these message boards: Elvera Roussel was in the running to play Delia on RH when the show first hit the air. How wild is it that Mattson played Delia for a while? (Though from what I saw of her performance, she was miscast). It's hard to know if Roussel would have been a good Delia. I would think she would have been better suited to playing Faith Coleridge, but who knows? She didn't get to show a whole lot of range as Hope.
    • If I were to do an EON reboot, I think I would start at the beginning, with Mike Karr leaving the police force in order to begin a new career as an attorney, and dealing with his wife, Sara's, crooked family.
    • I don't know if it was the writing or performance but I felt like we finally got to see the real Ted. Especially the way he talked to Martin when confronted, felt like a completely different person. He felt darker and like a total liar who was mad he got caught. I expected him to be remorseful and want to apologize to each and every family member who he came into contact with but he seemed like he didn't care. It completely changed how I view him and it makes me wonder if this is the direction they're going to take Ted in with the recast.
    • Tessa clarified a few years ago that she is gay and not bi.   I find it offensive that the show is teasing her with Daniel. Mariah told Sharon she went emotionally/mentally to a dark place, and while she was out of town on business she got drunk and did something bad.  But Mariah didn't say she cheated.  The show wants us to assume that, but she didn't say that.  She could have taken drugs or who knows what.  All we know is that she feels shame and doesn't want Tessa to know.  Mariah says the inner darkness is due to the longterm influence of Ian in the past, and she hasn't healed from that. With a *good* writer, we could have organic conflict in the Teriah marriage, without cheating.  But JG isn't a good writer.
    • Was that before his accident? I think it was. Most of us have never seen him before it happened.
    • I wonder if Falcon Crest wasn't seen as macho enough for them.  I first saw Dynasty on FX around 1994 or 1995. I think it ran for a few years, although I may be off as I moved and lost the channel for a while.
